This resonated with me immediately! My granddaughter is 4. She is so certain in her choices in my studio. Watching her work is mesmerising. Her nature is to be quite quiet, and thoughtful. In the studio, she shows me how to be. Quiet doesn’t mean she doesn’t have opinions and can’t make a decision - one she’s not afraid to undo 😎. She is a tonic for me without a doubt☺

I hate that perfection thing too. Daughter of an Irish Catholic Marine...that's where I get it from. There is a song called "Magic for Everybody" from a singer by Sam Phillips. she sings about perfectionism and I bet you would love it. It is here on youtube.

Glazing is such a nice way to pull pieces together! When you’ve varnished over an oil piece but want to take off a high sheen to a matte, don’t you use 0000 steel wool then cold wax and buff to dull it down? Txz Jeanne

Thank you for your question-I don’t really varnish my cwm/oil paintings except for a finally thin coat of cwm. I only use the 0000 steel wool on acrylic paintings after the pouring medium 🌺🌺

But if an unwanted high sheen is on an oil painting, would you use 0000 steel wool then buff with a wax to make it matte in appearance? Txz again jeanne

They are 1/8th in thick-check them out at www.Rexart.com -they make matching frames for their 12x12in panels! 🌺🌺

What was the name of those raw wood frames? Thanks,

I get mine from www.RexArt.com and here is the link to the 1-3/8in frames: www.rexart.com/basswood-panel-frames.html and here is the link to the 1-7/8 in frames www.rexart.com/basswood-deep-panel-frames.html. Please keep in mind, because RexArt makes the flat panels to go with the frames, they always fit! I made the mistake of ordering some 12x12in flat baltic birch panels from another source and they were not square; Rex Art panels are square and fit perfectly!
