      This set seemed like the high note for the “raised baseplate era! “

      For a raised plate set these were right up there with the elderado fortress in pizazz

    There is a black falcon set called,”black knights treasure” with a black falcon moving a cart of stolen gold.

    • @vintagebricks
      @vintagebricks  9 місяців тому

      I don’t have that nice little set but looks like a treasure was heading to the castle for safe keeping- set 6011 I think

    Great review. My all time favorite castle set 👍👍👍

      Ya agree… by 1992 LEGO got it all right in this one set!

    I think black falcons were allies with black knights to fight lion knights. Now, I think they become allies with lion knights and waiting for new black knight wave!

    Thanks for your review of this fantastic Castle. Niels Milan Peterson designed so many great sets! Including a few of my all-time favourites: 5988 Pharao's Forbidden Ruins, 6286 Skull's Eye Schooner and others

    • @vintagebricks
      @vintagebricks  2 роки тому

      Agree… somewhere in the mid 1990s sets seemed to a bit less esthetic in the castle / pirate theme. I have the 5988 and didn’t know he designed it. Thanks for sharing

      @@vintagebricksI am class 1986, even when I was a kid (1991-1997) I noticed I preferred the earlier (1984-1992) styled sets than the later pirates/castle/space sets. Whats 1993-1995 pirates set were you thinking about as less beautiful?

    Can you please tell more about that 1:38 yellow wall panel means/suppose/represent in this castle

    • @vintagebricks
      @vintagebricks  Рік тому +1

      I think the yellow walls were supposed to be Tudor style architecture from about 1500s in England. I like the touch of color in the set. Hope that helps!

    Excellent video. Late-80's and early-90's gave us many great LEGO sets. Personally, I'm a big fan of NINJAGO, and see it as the continuation of the classic castle-pirate themes.

      There are so many great ninjago sets and since you can buy them new don’t pay the mark up price on old sets! Thanks for commenting …. Jim

    Hey, great video! How much can I sell the white knight for?

    • @vintagebricks
      @vintagebricks  Рік тому +1

      Glad you have white knight! For an idea of value try Bricklink.com or eBay. Cas167 is minifigure part number. I think it is the rare white plums that give this the resale value

    This particular raised baseplate was also used in the Fire Breathing Fortress (6082) set.

    This is shame Lego do not do set s like this for a long time now

    • @vintagebricks
      @vintagebricks  2 роки тому +1

      I guess some refer to the 1980 and early 90s sets as the Golden Era of Lego. There is a certain nostalgia to these sets with the boxes from this time era so classic too.

    • @matteofinotto2423
      @matteofinotto2423 6 місяців тому +1

      @@vintagebricksI agree with them since I was a kid. The pinnacle of Lego was around 1984-1994 year more, year less. The most elegant design and colours, the perfect balance between too much too few.
