Consider me jealous right now...
Oh, you did not have these to build?
I love seeing two content creators talk
@@EzraEpic why does everyone say that whenever a content creator responds to another creator?
Wait, you guys aren't the same person?
@@pointlesspotential9376 we're like 2 eggs, really
The techniques used for getting all those angles for the walls are genius!
The balcony wall that slides in as the building is folded out is what really did it for me. That's some insane dedication to playability and shaping.
Nothing new, if you see MOC's or non Lego brands.
Stuff like that makes me appreciate Lego over all the other companys that copied the lego bricks. Eventhough Lego gets more and more expensive, the technices used in Lego sets definetely makes it worthwhile.
there are very similar techniques used in the Seinfeld set
@@cricketben6742 Lego them selfe copied the Lego bricks.
its incredible how they made all these complex angles without sacrificing honestly pretty neat play features and references
I'm not exaggerating when I say this is not only the best review of the Lion Knights Castle, but the best Racing Brick review--period. It strikes the perfect balance between entertaining & educational, interesting & informative, and simple & cinematic. Well done! If I hadn't already been saving up for this set, this review would have sold me on it!
10:51 I think this figure is actually a trumpeter with his trumpet. Hence the expressing.
Another amazing review as always.
I love this set and think it's absolutely stunning and a great culmination of Lego knights and castle sets from back in the day. I had king Leo's castle in the year 2000 as a small child but always wondered why they had stopped making castles like this altogether. This set is absolutely huge and the price is a bit expensive but for the amount of pieces, figures and functions involved it is unbelievably fantastic. I think my struggle is finding somewhere to display it!!
Actual arrow slits, towers, gatehouse, machicolations, garderobes, properly possitioned windows, accurate rooms...
It's the perfect set, I think shad would like it!
This is how all reviews should be. I love it.
Also that waterwheel actually turning the mill is so cool.
Thanks for this, great as always. I was on the fence about buying this one, but all the sections actually look nice and pretty interesting close by. They looked a little grey to me initially. I think now I will definitely get it.
Such amazing details and features. Absolutely love it. I know I won't ever own it but this is as close as you can get to enjoying the set without owning it, amazing work. Your reviews are so incredibly enjoyable.
All three 90th sets (castle, forestmen, space ship) absolutely knock it out of the park.
Great review. It shows every detail very clearly and I like how it takes us on a journey through the building process.
This set is beautiful. Attention to detail and building technique is simply outstanding. Great review too!!!
Thanks, awesome review, mate! And that brown frog - simply hilarious! :)
When I was a kid, my grandparents used to get a lego catalogue in the mail sometimes, I definitely remember seeing a set just like this, brings back lots of memories.
This is all I ever wanted as a kid. Imagine this set was there when we were 12 boys
I'm going to cry, this is gorgeous.
I absolutely agree with your final thoughts. This set is amazing, yet it's $400. Even the 10497 spaceship set, at $100, seems out of reach for many. I really wish LEGO introduced more inexpensive adult collector/anniversary sets.
There's no reason for this set to be the price that it is other than for Lego to milk its userbase for all they can possibly get from us. $400 is way too much. $200, or even $250 and I'd pick this up in a heartbeat. But $400? I have to hope this doesn't sell out immediately, because I'll need 2 paychecks to reasonably afford it.
@@SilverRiMiX unfortunately I think LEGO has always been pretty consistent with their prices and so this one doesn’t seem to be price gouged. Stuff owned by Disney however… yes those are purposefully inflated in prices.
Thank you for this review! It shows how massive and gorgeous this castle is!
This, in my opinion, is the single best castle Lego has ever done. It has it all, an amazing look, great build techniques and a great selection of figures. I guess I would have preferred a few more servant figures or peasants, but I'll take it as is.
Imo it is not.
This is femi-castle. Black falcon knight has no armor, soldiers proportion might be better. Only 2 war horses. In the way how Lego evaluated for these years, I expected way more and better for this price. Even more picky story, e.g. black falcon delegation or siege or whatever. And here is packed some themes from the past in the sweet mood, like for the girls. Come on
@@gierygri you could have shortened that comment by saying "I want more men" lol
@@bricktopian I WANT BIG CASTLE TO BE MACHO HISTORICALLY ACCURATE IT SHOULD HAVE ITS ROOF ON FIRE, STARVING PEASANTS AND A GREAT BIG WAR IN IT BUT LEGO IS SO DUM AND PACIFICISTIC!!!!
@@bricktopian It's clear where the priorities lie for some people.
If one is willing to just casually dismiss such an incredible build because of some petty political grudge, then that probably says more about them than anything else.
@@bricktopian agreed. This comment has snuck into a few of the videos that reviewed this set. It's weird.
It's beautiful! I haven't bought a set in years but this makes the little boy inside me all excited about Knights and Castles again.
Love that thatched roof technique. They definitely went over and beyond with this homage.
This was the most enjoyable Lego video I’ve ever watched, and that set looks incredible
Holy, I'm in love. So many cool features and hidden eastereggs
Best review that I saw for this set. Thank you!! Definitely day one purchase.
the best part of this set is that the drawbridge mechanism doesn't take up and entire room
Greetings from Slovakia! An amazing review, as always. I've never owned a Lego castle, but it's been such a big childhood dream of mine that I'm inclined to buy this, even if it'd be by far the biggest and most expensive set I own.
As great a set as this one is, it's also ridiculously overpriced. You'll be much better off with used old Lego.
Love the building review! Can't wait for August.
absolutely stunning 👏
I love the style of this video! It's really interesting to see the building process bag by bag! I subscribed! Keep up the great work! 😁❤️
I really appreciate your honesty about the pricing, something uncommon amongst most Lego UA-camrs and reviewers. Great review as always!
Awesome set, looking forward 🥰
I want one. Excellent review and made me want it more.
I once had the Black Falcon castle set from 1986 when I was a kid. Such good times. That was one of my favorites, and I miss it.
Lego 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress was my favorite set growing up as a kid in California. I have like 90% of it to this day. I also was smart and bought it unopened of ebay in like 2009 before prices became insane.
RacingBrick does the best Lego reviews on UA-cam. Period.
Being more of a sci fi fan than a medieval fan i thought i'd like the Galaxy Explorer more than this, but the amazing building techniques and detail of this set are simply stunning!
Before seeing the size of the galaxy explorer in comparison to the castle I wasnt a big fan but at least its a large sized ship 🤷♂️😅
I have 6086 & loved it as a kid: thinking it was the pinnacle of Lego castles... but the Lion Knights' castle is just, Amazing
Dear Balázs, excellent review, as always. Your style by breaking down the building process and showing all the exciting details, features and mechanisms is just extraordinary and very unique. Please keep it because it is very enjoyable and clearly separates you from other reviewers with time-lapse videos. The set is a day one purchase for me.
Thank you, I'm glad you like the content :) I understand why not many people do such reviews since it's a tons of work compared to a speed build :D
@@RacingBrick I am sure it's a lot of work but it's worth it. ;)
what a beautiful castle wow. So nice! I love the intricacy and details. So exquisite! :) !
First time viewer, great review of a really nice set, as a child I had a lot of those early Castle sets (I didn't have the Yellow one, but from there on) and this one looks amazing, if I had room for it these days would be very tempted. Also, it may have been pointed out, but the minifig that you commented that had a 'funny expression' with a flag, I believe that's actually a horn/bugle that he'd blow into (hence the look of his face, taking a deep breath to blow) sort of announcing the Queen's entrance or what have you.
I would love to see the size comparison video of this set, the 2021 medieval castle, the medieval blacksmith and forest Hideout if you can!
Can't wait to get this
I just bought 2 of this set, and I am excited as a little kid at Christmas 😊
This looks awesome! I never got any Lego Castle sets as a kid, but it looks like this is a truely upscaled build from the originals and a great homage using mostly similar construction techniques to the originals.
I wish the modern Lego Classic Space sets (Benny's and 10497) were more like this instead of their heavily technic based builds.
God this is bringing back memories of all the other knight sets like the knights vs goblins
Didn’t think I fancied this set until I watched this!
Hey man amazing video brings back memories. I used to have forest hideout when I was like 6 and since than I we been building my own castles with traps etc.
10 out of 10, might be the best lego released set I have ever seen.
Undoubtably one of LEGOs best sets ever made! I would love to have one. Too bad the price is not the most friendly for most consumers.
I just ordered this direct from Lego. The price tag is difficult to swallow, but castle theme was my favorite as a kid, and this is the mother of all castles!
Seeing how this is a 90th anniversary set, im probably going to get a 2nd to keep in box, because im for sure going to build one, this set is what I wish I had as a kid, they’ve gone above and beyond for castle serious on this build
I got a medieval castle with 2 combined sets to make it bigger can’t wait to add this next to it!
I hope they keep doing this, even after the anniversary ends. Getting modem updates of iconic sets is so cool to me.
In other words, gimme some Power Miners, Bionicle and classic Ninjago
I would die for Bionicle, Exo Force, Power Miners, Aqua Raiders, Alpha Team, and Ultra Agents. Especially Bionicle and Exo Force.
wow, so many features! Expensive but pretty neat!
Thanks for the review. Please continue to review the larger / adult sets that aren't technic... apart from jang its only you that mentions the positives and negatives. Also i really enjoy seeing the highlights of the building, that information is great!
This is insane. I want it.
I really need this
very nice review, friend, very enjoyable and inormative
Solid review by someone who knows what he is talking about! Thanks…
Thanks for the detail review set!! Love your video so much! Agreed with you perhaps the only issue is the pricing for set however to me how much money we need spend to bring back our sweet memory from our childhood. I saved the budget since early this year. Haha!!
Such a cool set, love the minifigure variety too. I'd be hesitant about spending that much on the set otherwise but some of those minifigures are so cool
Oh wow. Congrats to LEGO. and congrats to you.
Thank you for your incredible reviews, they inspired me to purchase this model and today I am a happy owner of it! I advise everyone to buy it, the set is simply incredible😃😃😃👍
It's a wonderful kit. I want one for my collection 🙂
Imagine what the 100th Anniversary sets will be like!
I've been away from Lego much too long. This is a great way for me to return though! Amazing set! And... yes, the revised Forest Hideout definitely deserves to be made available for purchase as well!
The bat-filled cave is likely a reference to Fright Knights, a 1997 LEGO Castle subtheme centered around witches, bats and the supernatural...
The battlements look so nice
5:05 the warrior was so impressed with the technic water mill that she fainted
Two videos in one day! 🥰
AGATHA!!! The Lion roars!
This is my first time at this channel. This was an exceptional review. I love how you were providing a review at the different building stages. Bravo.
Great video , Awesome ! Very good idea to compare with 3in1 castle ! Thanks
I am usually a Lego Castle & Pirates fan, although I love this set a lot, but I am loving the 2022 Galaxy explorer, sometimes the too many features becomes overwhelming
3rd time it's still a great watch.
I’m getting this
My childhood :)
Ah, so thats how the drawbridge works! The balcony-bridge section inntge other side I figure it out, but didn't undersand the extra chains above the gate, inside the bug tower.
I found a solution, hiw to make it, it's a bit cranky, but works too!
Such a cool build, I don’t have space so I’ll probably get the spaceship instead
That long grey piece from the garage set you mentioned is in yellow in the recent BricQ Motion Essential education set 45401 and the goods yard train set 60052 (2014). (and posssibly others)
This is one insane castle! I love it!
Huráááá. Konečně se zase začíná vyrábět lego, které kloudně vypadá. Jen tak dál!
its like a next generation HD reboot of the King's Castle
ill have this
The balkony -> bridge -> secret combination is genius :D
WOOOO BABY 2 UPLOADS ONE DAYYY YYYEEEAAAAAAAA BAAABBBYYYYY
I rather have wall pieces like the original had. So much fun to play with! The elevated terrain pieces were also epic.
What an incredible set. Don’t think I could ever afford it but I sure can dream!
I would love to see a Disney Lego Castle as good as this one.
Oh man. I definitely will find a way to buy this one. Castle series is my #2 favorite after Wild West sets from the catalogue for the year I was born (1995). Idk how I got that booklet but I dreamed about those sets when I was a kid))
Ps
I should definitely spend some time and hang a couple shelves and guitar holders in my room to give room for this set :D
What a superb video of an awesome looking set!!
10:51 it's a guy with a trumpet, the expression it's him blowing haha
the funny face fig is blowing a trumpet
I wish that some of these bigger sets:
1: fit in my room, I've already bought 4 shelves and they're still full of legos!
2: cost just a bit less, I do not know how much this must've cost but it is probably up there with the Assembly Square, which I do own, but just something like -30$ would be such a pleasure to have
3: not have my fingers hurt after around 30 minutes of building small parts of legos.
What if you wanted to get more knights with similar printing where could you get them from?
What are the dimensions of this lock when open (the product page only gives the dimensions when closed)?
10:51 it's a trumpet, and the expression is meant to be him blowing into it
Looks amazing but I think they should’ve kept those same basic smiley faces for the mini figs like with the space sets. If I ever buy this I’m gonna replace most of the heads with those faces
i thought the same thing!
Based on their newer Black Falcons and Forestmen sets, it seems like Lego sadly has no plans to include smiley faces in their modern Castle sets.
Great video. I would buy this and change some interior details (sacrilege, I know).
It's LEGO, you are free to modify it :)
I think they should bring back the ice planet set. Those are nice and could be used as inspiration for modern ones.
Lovely reference to the War of the Roses with both York and Lancaster roses there. Or are they tudor roses? Great to see dark red flower pieces anyway. Love these details, harpsichord, lute, etc.
