I personally think the tyrranid-esque species should have been replaced with the Marro. Out of all of the species used in Heroscape the Marro were definitely the most visually distinct, and set Heroscape's alien hivemind species as a distinct entity from other IPs, and the new species actually looks more of a knock-off than the Marro did. As for everything else, I wouldnt doubt if more Samurai, Soulborgs, Undead, ect. got released, but I think they'll stick more to things they can easily protect unfortunately.

I actually don’t get why people would want them to reprint the old sets. To me the charm of the original master sets is they were a product of the time, and they’ve also become quite a collectible. I also think unpainted minis in todays world is totally fine, a huge part of the existing heroscape community are already heavily into 3D printing and custom models. For me it’s a breath of fresh air and we’ll also have a clear distinction between the old pre painted minis and the new age of heroscape unpainted ones.
Because there are many of us who never got to complete their collections and wanted the models without 3D printing. I don’t see why they can’t do both.
The molds don’t look bad. I’m okay I guess with no paint jobs because if I decide to play, it lets me customize them. That being said, a lot of folks who played heroscape were not painters. That was part of the draw for the game. It was bright and colorful. I hope the multicolored molds are at least unique to each faction. Otherwise that could be a little weird for unit coherence.
well back then the people were younger, so of course they didnt paint the minis, because everything was already to do go. no one that has really like to take their time nor has time to paint should Have to paint them and it is kinda bullshit that they are not painted when the terrain is still well detailed. they have the source to do so. so they should make 2 sets for the colored and the painted expansion.

Now, Aquilla's Alliance and Wave 9 commons...that's a whole other story. We need reprints of those. And as others have mentioned, terrain packs of just the 1, 2, 3, 7 and 24 hex terrain makes the absolute most sense, as that will appeal to the widest audience possible, heroscapers and non alike.

This was the news I wanted to hear from Renegade! I was a big fan of the Clockwork Combine, Dawn Raider Syndicate, and Ironclad Collective, and I am so excited I will have the opportunity to add official versions to my collection in the future.
I was first introduced to Heroscape in middle school, somewhere from 2018-2019 probably, by a friend who I played DnD with at his house. I remember being fascinated with the concept of different factions using units so different from one another, but visually distinct enough to be grouped into their own respective armies. I also remember being a bit crushed when my friend told me that it wasnt being continued. Thankfully, he had the main 3 master sets, so we had quite a few units to use, and I later printed some out, like the Microcorp Agents and Marro drones. I went through all of that again when Age of Annihilation was announced and cancelled. Honestly, I dont care if they're adding new factions to build up an IP, nor if the new figures are unpainted, so long as the roster stays consistently varied and they add more historical units in the future. A move like this should have been expected with the first set, even if they should have put in some historical units instead of just new factions.
I’m honestly shocked at how quickly I’ve been learning to paint the Heroscape figures. Ive been pretty bad at painting my whole life but after painting my first 30 figures I was surprised at how much better I had become! I wasn’t really wanting to learn but I think that it is a bit easier than one initially thinks. Also compared to Warhammer standards, Heroscape painting is very beginner friendly which helps a lot!
Wassup my boy! Great video, I completely agree with what you said and I appreciate you touching on some of the major points in my mind: 1) I would like them to paint the figures and sell for higher cost, so I dont have to worry about it and most importantly 2) I completely agree that the new factions, for me, dont really fit in with the past heroscape designs... and they still have so much more room to expand on the past stuff! I hope its not a licensencing issue, but I would really really like to see them expand on some other types that already exist (maybe ones that are colored green for example). Hope youre doing well!
Honesty I’m just hoping we can get more terrain at this point. I’d love for more trees, glaciers, and buildings to be brought in. I especially would love it if they made an Alpha Prime Master set with some more sci-fi terrain and building parts. I’d also love to see official wellspring tiles that drastically buff Kyrie attack and defense but is maybe death to non kyrie? I don’t know but it’d be fun for the lore if anything else. I feel like I can always find proxies or 3D print the discontinued figures or make customs in the future, but the terrain feels like a much more finite resource to me.

I could see them re-making some or even a lot of the old classic units. They would be modernized; new models, (as the old molds are most certainly discarded and gone), unpainted minis, and maybe even some rule clarifications and point cost adjustments. But once the game starts gaining traction, interest in the old stuff will grow and rereleases, imo, are likely to happen. Definitely not gonna happen right off the bat, but I wouldn't mind some remakes. On a personal level, I just need to fill out some common units for my collection.

But I want to see them keep the heart of it alive, bring in new factions, keep the old if they can, make the story complete, war of all world and time. It would be great if they can have all the figures so it still is that 'war of times' but if it takes time for the old ones to be reprinted, when they are back on their feet, that would be a great treat. I am quite happy with the way they take. AoA is a fine Box. A reprint of the first MasterSet would have generated no emotion in me. And most people i know do not want it either, they want new stuff or reprints of the rare things.
I honestly think a lot of the complaints came from a very vocal minority. Most people that play games nowadays know that prepainted figures is unlikely, and the fact that people mentioned "Redwall" and even called the bugs "Tyranids" means tropes are still being done (despite maybe not being the tropes some people want).
If it was a vocal minority who were complaining about the lack of paint, the kickstarter would have happened. Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder still did and still do painted minis and they don't cost an arm in a leg. And there is a reason the painted versions are selling out quicker than unpainted.
I really think this game can be saved if they make expansions like the classic Marvel. For example, a Dragonball set, or Pokémon, DC, StarWars, the sets are endless!!!
I don't think we NEED painted models. I rather just have the game return and rebuild a following again. Then if its successful they can create new sets that are colored, we just need the foundation first. BUUUUUT... I can see that some people might think we need fully colored and highly detailed models. As the models may be enough to entice a whole new fanbase and overall revitalize the franchise.
I would have preferred a mixed array of figures like the past because you built your army. I don’t want to play another prebuilt army game, to many are around already
I am glad they are brining a new master set and not a reprint of RotV. I don't need another RotV. I want new figures. That is what makes the game in my opinion. I just wish the prices were lower. 100 bucks more for a painted version of the game is stupid. I am not a painter. Not on minis. And acrylic paint is not that much unless you are using the absolute best which isn't required.
Hopefully at some point they release WWII soldiers and Samurai's etc, as expansion packs, would help add to "The Battle of All Time" concept. Though, I personally wish they'd reprint the original master set. And it doesn't matter if they couldn't copy protect the designs, they were iconic and recognizable. And they helped get me into the whole "across time" theme going on. Now it just feels generic
@@ultris07 while I understand.... we are just getting started with new figures. And with new generals who are lacking figures, heck even Vydar was lacking figures until D&D Scape came out. Well I'm glad they didn't just try to reprint ROV ( 1st box set ) The player base has it. Even I would be hard pressed to buy a reprint set , I would maybe buy one just to help the sales but for me it would be like buying a reprint of NAKITA AGENTS ,Gladiators and AGENTS hurt my gaming groups soul WE ended up buying quite a few EXTRA sets of them just to try and get the stores to order more Heroscape because all that was left on the shelves were GLADITORS and AGENTS !! and the systems that restock new stuff were like Nope don't get more have 20 Heroscape boxes left ( sorry small rant ) Tho I was fine with buying 8 sets of WARRIORS and SOULBORGS what can I say I like RATS and robot rats are way cooler than Skaven besides 1 Legolas, 1 Raelin and 8 sets of Deathreavers (you can tell I play blue in MTG ) Fits my twistedly sick play style , and sometimes drop some rats to put in Nakita Agents around Legolas and Rae. Very pumped to buy the new stuff and I will need 3 of all of it, TAKE MY MONEY !!! - LORD - IVD.
Honestly, I am just getting into painting minis for dnd, so I do not care so much about unpainted minis. And I prefer new things. The OG was iconic, but like, somewhat not the most interesting. I like the idea of new cohesive factions

The irony of having generic units makes the game less generic.
(I know what you meant it's just a funny sentence)
@@tabletopbro Exactly.
I still love what they are trying to do, I just don't think it's "The Battle Of All Time" anymore.
@@ultris07 while I understand.... we are just getting started with new figures. And with new generals who are lacking figures, heck even Vydar was lacking figures until D&D Scape came out. I think they need to build up those generals first. I do hope we get some more historic figures, but I think it is going to take some time.
My thoughts exactly
Who in the f wants a reprint of the original master set??? It’s not THAT expensive to buy compared to heroscape prices
Some people think we'll be able to go back to 2004 prices magically
I would appreciate a reprint of all the terrain packs and aquilla's alliance but the original master set not really also I hope they sell just terrain also really happy age of annihilation is coming out
If you don't wanna go overboard with laborious painting, just try the slapchop method. You'll get results on par with the original painted figures or better with little effort.
I just think that more HeroScape is good for HeroScape. I prefer official 'Scape to customs, but I see the appeal.
This is gonna be official scape though🧐
@@tabletopbro That's why I'm hyped, but I understand that some don't like the design philosophy. I'm curious what Renegade will make. I just saw that NGC will stop the AoA proxies after Wave 2.
The third party proxy comment i agree with totally i said the same thing lmao
We don't need a reprint of the old sets, just asking for some continuity in the races, I don't see Mimring fighting furries ... That's some multiverse wet dream bullshit, not in the Heroscape vibe ...
Heroscape already is multiverse wet dream bullshit
Are people seriously whining about unpainted minis? In my day the Imperium dealt with such heretics swiftly.
People actually played HeroScape? I was under the impression that everybody who bought HeroScape was just cannibalizing the map bitz for BattleTech.
I've never played BattleTech before in my life!
That’s a small bubble you live in
lol
couldn't agree more
