I have mixed feelings about this 😂 Do I want it? Yes. Do I have space for it? No. Do worry about what it is all going to cost? Yes. Thanks for the video!
Solid update. Glad we know the AoA stuff is coming back, so it's not this weird hole sitting out there. Evil Raelin on a manticor will be canon, in some form.
My gaming group has always gotten at least two of every unique. I blame Charos and Krug for being such desirable drafts back in the early days of the game. We just had to have more!
@@Oblivionm24 Yeah even the Nakita Agents well esp them since I needed 8 sets of Deathreavers and also bought them out of stock to try and get new sets bck in the day. At the height of my group we were 30 players strong and allowed mirror matches and well ya gotta have custom colored units for favorite armies
@@nathanfolsom2906 Right I even bought 4 sets of ROV without land just for mirror matches, And I think I have 24 Mimrings that I used to make a multiplayer vs dragon army.
I do not like when people say "that is not HeroScape" as if they get to claim what can fit in the setting of the game. The story from "across time and space" literally means any idea that can be made can be HeroScape. HeroScape has always lent itself to imagination, creativity, and exploration of ideas. Every unit does not have to please everyone, there can be a "flavor" of any genre or interest if designers deign to add it to the game. Something new may seem odd at first but over time, it will become more normal. I did not like the Clockwork Combine because I do not like the theme, but I will happily buy them and add them. More ideas = more HeroScape. bring it all.
Im assuming the pre order price will be around the same price when it first released. I’m hoping not as the price was pretty steep, but now that I know heroscape is for sure coming back I guess I can start saving now lol.
You might still end up paying $250 overall, but no I don’t think it’s going to be an “all in one” buy. That was the issue with the original offering, so I think it’s much more likely based off of their comments and our feedback that they will break up purchases into faction packs and terrain packs so you can buy what you want and how much you want.
The quotes from Renegade mention the figures from AOA but not the terrain. They did say terrain packs will come up but it's not specifically calling out the AOA terrain. I would imagine it would be but just to be clear it wasn't specifically tied together. Good recap, did they mention painted/unpainted? Wonder if they will look like the AOA colors or if I should eventually invest in paints.
I wanna see thormun slowly take everyone out,, but I'm looking forward to the kyrie and the exclusives will be beasts and then the 2.0 3.0s are gonna be so much fun
I think they should sell the vanguard edition but also sell something smaller scale and cost efficient for a simple skirmish that way people can see if they even like it
@@SirHeroscape I was thinking either the haslab campaign or Anitar and Caps’s info thread on heroscapers! just stuff that people can view if they want to view things like designer notes or cards
With the benefit of hindsight, I was not only okay with AoA failing, I was actually happy that it wasn't being remade with all the new faction focus and "look how cool my new OC generals are you guys" energy. Then Renegade took over and I had hope that a true Heroscape reawakening could happen. I was glad to write AoA off as a fever-dream fanfic from people that didn't understand what made the original game tick. Then they just said "oh hey, let's just sell the failed experiment that people have already made customs of and that was mostly revealed nearly a year ago; that'll sell." I hope they have plans to actually support the game, because this is very disappointing to me and seems like it will be a short-lived revival if they stick with the themes from Avalon Hill.
@SirHeroscape Here's hoping. I have to hope that AoA is going to function as an appetizer while they get their own team working on more traditional Heroscape for the main course.
Eh, Heroscape has been dead outside of the community, it needs new content to revitalize it. Even the community has been pushing out new armies/units with other models. I don't see a difference except the huge cost haslab demanded. And not being pre-painted but that that depends on the person and I'd like the choice to have pre-painted or not if it becomes an option. The AOA units themselves look cool.

I HOPE -at the very least, they bring back the classic HeroScape characters from the original sets and expansion sets 🧐🥺🥺🥺

I really hope that the factions are sold separately / consumer friendly

I’d invest in paints. They made it seem like they’d offer some painted and non painted options…but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

They’ve confirmed that’s exactly what they plan to do.
Is there any kind of date for this release?
Not yet…but we theorize it’ll be early (spring) next year we have an announcement
August 2024
They should add mud terrain that slows you down, that would be awesome! You could make a WW1 battlefield with trenches and stuff!
So a flavor of ice? Maybe make it a dice roll for the chance of a move taking an extra action.
Been saving for years. TAKE MY MONEY!
Thanks for the update.
thanks for the recap!! could you add a link to this info in the description?
Erm…which info specifically? The AoA details?

Time will tell, but if they’re smart, they’ll listen to the community.
