    This is why it is important to do a flight control check before takeoff. not only to make sure the parts move, but to make sure they move in the correct direction. I've avoided a crash or two by doing a check before hand. That being said, I wait until I get over confident before i crash, then it is epic, and sad...

      @clarencegreen3071 Рік тому

      And pay attention to the amount the control surfaces move! The entire horizontal stabilizer on my E-Flite T-28 1.1m slid to the rear which had the effect of adding a LOT of down elevator. It took off but did not want to climb. Had to hold 3/4 throttle just to maintain altitude. And I had to land it at well over half throttle just to keep it from diving to the ground. The nosewheel took a hit but the damage was minimal.
      The stabilizer fits snugly into a slot at the rear of the fuselage and is secured by four strips of tape. Over time, the tape came off, the stab slid backwards, and the rest is history. I learned a lesson at a very low cost!

    That first landing you had was one of the nicest landings of any RC plane I have seen after watching hundreds of videos. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is the worst and 10 is the best, I give you a 12. Very nice.

    Aww that's a shame you crashed on the maiden flight!! But we've all done the same😖 I love my Super Cub!! But I've had it for a while now and it came without the Reflex Gyro system which I have in my Fms Beaver and it works very well but I do fly with it switched off most off the time Lol The Cub I find struggles in wind and is like a big Kite and definitely benefits from AS3X as I fitted a Spektrum AR 637 in mine and now on a windy day I can Switch the AS3X on and find it much more enjoyable to fly in heavy wind. Respect to you for posting your mishap as most people wouldn't 👍😄

    Not once but twice.
    I got a rule of thumb.
    When moving the aileron stick, the aileron should wave to you by moving up.
    Move stick left, left aileron should wave to you by moving up. And the reverse.
    It was a Swedish rule of thumb, don't know if you get it in English, anyway I did the aileron thingy once in my life and never again.

    Happened to me too. Once I replaced two aileron servos with stronger servos from another company. I checked them working, but I didn't realize, they worked inverted. Gyro tames worst winds so long as still flown properly, reduces workload, adds insurance & "beginner intro flight" mode, so all benefits without any detrimental factors..I can trust response of safe beyond my capabilities on windy days MUCH lower with my $1,200 A-10 Warthog when in 90° turns, & small foam planes pylon racing @ 100mph+ as it keeps things locked & allows me to focus on precision lines, locked on like a laser in a selected vector.
      People complain the most about stabilization when they have not found a need or use for it. I'll exploit any system for benefits. For beginners it keeps them heading over the threshold, not losing hope, till they gain skill to direct, then AVIATE TO EFFECT.
