- Im now an official member of the aileron club. Twice i crashed this plane before it hit me.. Reversed aileron. But after a ton of glue and a new motor i manage to get it in the air.

This is why it is important to do a flight control check before takeoff. not only to make sure the parts move, but to make sure they move in the correct direction. I've avoided a crash or two by doing a check before hand. That being said, I wait until I get over confident before i crash, then it is epic, and sad...
And pay attention to the amount the control surfaces move! The entire horizontal stabilizer on my E-Flite T-28 1.1m slid to the rear which had the effect of adding a LOT of down elevator. It took off but did not want to climb. Had to hold 3/4 throttle just to maintain altitude. And I had to land it at well over half throttle just to keep it from diving to the ground. The nosewheel took a hit but the damage was minimal.
The stabilizer fits snugly into a slot at the rear of the fuselage and is secured by four strips of tape. Over time, the tape came off, the stab slid backwards, and the rest is history. I learned a lesson at a very low cost!
That first landing you had was one of the nicest landings of any RC plane I have seen after watching hundreds of videos. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is the worst and 10 is the best, I give you a 12. Very nice.
Thank you Jeffrey. Nice of you. It was also my first aileron misstake🤪
You sad person all you do is watch you tube pilots landing !
Also very nice:

Dont feel too bad, most of us have flown with reversed channels at one time or another too. That seems like a nice flyer!
Thank you sir. It is great. I mounted a new motor so she got a bit more kick to it now. 😎
@@ArcticRc 4 or 5 cell would kick in more power
A very stoic "nope" :-)
This video is great. I recently purchased a pa-18 1700mm and crashed it with reversed ailerons. This gave me inspiration to fix it and fly it better, I now have a beautiful cub. Thank you
Seeing the plane back in action within days after each of those crashes is amazing, good stuff mTe
Aww that's a shame you crashed on the maiden flight!! But we've all done the same😖 I love my Super Cub!! But I've had it for a while now and it came without the Reflex Gyro system which I have in my Fms Beaver and it works very well but I do fly with it switched off most off the time Lol The Cub I find struggles in wind and is like a big Kite and definitely benefits from AS3X as I fitted a Spektrum AR 637 in mine and now on a windy day I can Switch the AS3X on and find it much more enjoyable to fly in heavy wind. Respect to you for posting your mishap as most people wouldn't 👍😄
Indeed we have all been there. Anyway - the glue manufacturers need us.
🤔😅😅😅oh my god God lmao
@@ryanlemons3255 ROFL and any horses near a glue factory beware
Wel done good fix and good piloting

Nice place to flight! Sorry for the accident.
Well these are the things that makes you a better pilot😊
Two bad crashes but two great landings.
Perfect landings, respect from india
Welcome in the aileron-club :)
Thank you Sir🥳
Всё равно это хороший самолёт! Красивый полёт, красивый пилотаж, классное видео, спасибо! Успехов Вам! Привет из России!
Not once but twice.
I got a rule of thumb.
When moving the aileron stick, the aileron should wave to you by moving up.
Move stick left, left aileron should wave to you by moving up. And the reverse.
It was a Swedish rule of thumb, don't know if you get it in English, anyway I did the aileron thingy once in my life and never again.
God that first landing was nice.
God i love a good sunday evening sarcasm 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ArcticRc lmao no i mean the one you wanted to do!
@@rybuds47 haha.. ooh that one😁
I have done the same one time after that i do preflight checks but in a hurry is no good..
Very nice bird this 👍👍👍👍👍👌 and the Re maiden went well. 😀
ALWAYS preflight ALL systems! Thoroughly! With &without stabilization, mixes, etc!
I lost elevator control on mine (@pitch horn), BECAUSE I MISSED THE ONE PREFLIGHT after doing a dozen hours of touch&gos.. luckily ok using flaps&power to control pitch/airspeed..
I was surprised 1:20, in less than 10 secs and another one for a test...this is legit maiden flight!
Happened to me too. Once I replaced two aileron servos with stronger servos from another company. I checked them working, but I didn't realize, they worked inverted. Mechanically I had changed nothing. S... happens. Realized this after taking off this plane (glider) and just tried to fly with the rudder and land ... hopeless.
Well you won't make that mistake again! (been there)
I did exactly the same the first time I ever flew an RC plane. Have crashed more times than I care to remember so all hail the hot glue gun!!!
This Airplane need no gyro. It flies well
Hey after my last crash i saw this video again , and i will not give upp. =)
Way to go my man, very entertaining, keep it up, take the encouragement given in the comments below.
I've been trapped into not knowing what was wrong crashing with reversed ailerons, eventually worked it out, HI5 checks everytime now!
Oops, not alone there
Всё - равно это хороший самолёт! Спасибо Вам за видео! Успехов! Привет из России!
Two things to never say. 1 One more flight! 2 Never happened to me!
Roger that 🤪
Hahaha. Yes that: just 1 more flight cost me a lot of planes..
@@cnnlt200 famous last words.... 😂😭
Rule #1: Model airplanes crash.
Rule #2: You can't do anything to stop Rule #1.
woah that was a good landing! (better than mine because i do it Ryanair style lol)
Hey! Flights nicely even if a little bit underpowered. Is that a wood prop? what brand?
I learned on that plane I have two of them now it is an excellent plane one of my favorites
It is a super plane. I just messed up. But it will happend to all of us one time😊
@@ArcticRc yep. It's all part of flying. Good luck with your flying future
Damn. That's a heartbreaker on a new plane. Truly something to be said for pre-flighting huh?
That is exactly what happened to my Super Cub on the first two flights it climbs to maybe ten feet veers to the left and hits the ground. Still don't know what's wrong with it.
been there done that! way to keep at it! However, that first maiden was so bad you need to send me a shirt.
Haha I will do.. Send me your adress in my facebook Pm
God mode landing :)
Nice flying field. I could have sworn you checked the controls before you took off especially the second time. Right stick means right aileron goes up.
Well... i did something🤣 But lesson learned.
I found it to be a nice flying we made airplane, but the landing gear on mine was FAR too stiff.
Yeah absolutley.. 😊
&hard wheels...
and always check the CG!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL.... Sorry.. Is this the 1300mm or 1700mm ?? Looks nice.
1700mm
whoaaa i wont tell ;-)
Another prop with more pitch if u wanted. Got enough battery and engine speed if nothing is running hot..
Been there. Did that with my tiger moth all fixed up now.
Saved a lot of repair if you had done a preflight as you always should🤡
Worst thing you can do in this hobby is to become complacent, the checking of the control surfaces is Paramount, every single time. Greedy flying once you got it 👍
hi did you say it comes with a gyro ?
Yeah. It comes with Reflex Gyro from FMS
OK I went to Horizon hobby they said it doesn't but bang good says theirs does ?
@@jimbrogden6661 That is Horizon doing theyre stuff. In Norway FMS is a standalone brand. So they put gyros in the pnp pack. Horizon bought rights i belive so they only sell the plane. Perhaps they will add the AS3X in the future. 😊
@@ArcticRc Thanks bro I guess bang good are getting them right from FMS
looks like gyro compensation is reversed.
you need to check that by moving the aircraft before taking off.
Nope.. it was the good old reversed aileron in my radio. First time in ten years... and first time i didn't check
@@ArcticRc sorry to hear that 😅
@@mobeyond Well we all have done it one time in our career. 😊
What's happen exactly ? It is the refex v2 or something else ! 🤔
Well confidence sucks. I forgot to check aileron directions. 1 time in 12 years🤣
@@ArcticRc Ho ! Ok ! It's happen to me when I buy the new simulator real flight evolution ! I said to my self, thank's god It's not a real one ! 🙃🤣 so I whas surprise when it's happen to you, because you are a good pilot ! Nice video my friend ! I think one Day or another this happen to every one ! 💙👍✈️
Twice with ailerons reversed? 🤔
Don't ask..... 🤣🤣
@@ArcticRc need a slap in the back of the head emoji, lol
Fool me once....
🤣
Might have avoided all the trouble if you'd checked your control surfaces every time right before punch-out.
Yeah..
Im not impressed by instant arf modellers at all. If you would spend few months building it, you would not crash it so carelessly twice... To be honest, I've connected wing servos to wrong channel once too, but i had few beers in my head... and it was not nearly a maiden flight.
bro that was you lol
It looked worse than it was...
Gyro reversed
i dont think i will fly mine now ha
Should have used the gyro
All the you tube experts are watching ! Knowing all the answers NOT ! they have probably never flown a model aircraft in their life’s wankers
Thank you Sir😊
My questions: WHY would you even consider using the gyro? That is for total beginners, which you are obviously not. And, I do not understand why you said you would change the motor, because it is 'too fast'. Use less throttle. :-?
I wanted to change the motor to get it to go faster😊 the original one broke after last impact😊
Gyro tames worst winds so long as still flown properly, reduces workload, adds insurance & "beginner intro flight" mode, so all benefits without any detrimental factors..I can trust response of safe beyond my capabilities on windy days MUCH lower with my $1,200 A-10 Warthog when in 90° turns, & small foam planes pylon racing @ 100mph+ as it keeps things locked & allows me to focus on precision lines, locked on like a laser in a selected vector.
People complain the most about stabilization when they have not found a need or use for it. I'll exploit any system for benefits. For beginners it keeps them heading over the threshold, not losing hope, till they gain skill to direct, then AVIATE TO EFFECT.
Ya SuperCub super stable, but like real ones can't handle winds! I fly mine on only 3S, really have to fly the wing like the real thing..she's so scale! A beauyy!
imagine being such a noob you crash a Super Cub, twice, before finally getting it into the air. lolololol
Don't be so hard on me... 😭
@@ArcticRc i wouldnt worry. it is obvious that he does not fly rc. When you fly RC, it is not if you crash, but when
idiots show their brain farts every minute. This guy has one every second because he can't fly like the rest of us.
Baaaaahahahhahahahahahaah
thats a basic plane... plz train a bit...
Please watch our other videos before you go on your lim with less needed comment.
@@ArcticRc maintain my comments for 3 reasons: 1 to be wrong in the reversibility of the ailerons and not to check is a mistake not to make 2 that with a basic plane even with the ailerons reversed to realize it is quite fast 3 i make accro for 16 years ... I had cash heli, planes but an error in the verifications or protection measures that you dont make, even with 11 years is the base in a pre-flight test
bro get out of the hobby FAST
Bro we been here for 11 years and we still have fun. Sadly it looks like you arent...😊
