    I’ve been contemplating getting rid of the clear poly bags. It seemed really wasteful.
    On poshmark labels you can ship up to 5 lbs on the standard label not 15. If it weighs more like coats or bundles, the seller has to buy an upgraded label. Can get really expensive too. The max weight with Posh is 10 lbs.

    I place clothing (that fits) in a gallon zip lock bag when storing it. Then take it out when I sell it. Find their zip lock bag keeps items in same condition as photographed and lets me fit more items in a single tote.

    I have to poly bag clothes to protect them from dog hair, but I don’t seal them until they’re ready to go. I’ve received a package that had been mangled by USPS, but a poly bag saved the fabric, so I’m a believer. However, I do hate creating extra waste. 😬

    I received a blouse yesterday, from a new seller, and she just put it in a poly bag. It was warm and humid, thankfully it had not soured nor did it have mildew. Just thought I would share 1 tip to add on to the poly bag info. If you do want to go that route you could also consider just getting a big box of gallon ziplock bags and then that way you can reuse them if the item doesn’t sell or something like that. I do this sometimes if I have an item that’s like super fuzzy or something to avoid it getting cut when they open their package.

    I pre-pack all my clothing in clear zip lock poly bags but only because all of my clothing inventory is out in my garage and it protects the clothing from dust or bugs etc. I don’t use a bin system...I have 3 big (5 drawer) metal filing cabinets that I got free from a business that went out of business. I store jerseys in one, tops in another and jeans in another. I don’t sell shoes...just not my thing. The clear bags I get are resealable. I don't sell many clothes but I use them to store plush (stuffed animals). We have pets and I don't want the plush to get fur or dirt on them. Then I can just pile them in a box in the closet and not plastic bins. But, when I ship the item, I just take the plush out of the bag and reuse if for another item that needs to be stored in inventory.

    PM allows any flat rate priority or regional box (not express). The PM label has a statement at the bottom which boxes are allowed. You can point to that when you have an uninformed USPS person. I’ve never had a problem...I typically schedule pickups and don’t go to post office. However, I have had to inform a USPS employee once...and just showed her the label. Also, I don’t use plastic and don’t understand why so many Poshers do...don’t clothes need to breathe? Also, I’m new and part time and my intent is to not keep significant levels of inventory longer than 3-6 months, so I don’t need a long term storage solution. Most is kept hanging...I have a large basement area that I have converted for PM.

    Is this the same system you use today? I know this video was almost a year ago so I wasn't sure. I thought that you also sell hardgoods, so where do they fit in the system? Do put them in the bins the same as you do with the clothing?

    this video basically launched my store. Can you. when there is time. expand on shipping.. ebay shipping options, global shipping, what do do when packages are lost, when yo refund. i could keep going.. but basically the shipping options ebay offers are still not clear, after three months.. i find all different info online. in the last three months i’ve had 3 lost packages, one in the uk, 4 week delivery in canada. for me right now this topics or pressing. for example the grey area of a lost priority package, 50$ automatic insurance? with ebay or usps? damage packages? how. to make claims and when? or ebay customer service on lost packages.. etc. Thanks… love your content..

    I think putting the adhesive backing in your mouth is the key to your success.
    Curious why you decided to move to the clear polybag inventory system in 2022? You seemed to have good arguments for doing it this way. Did you have any issues with feedback or damaged merchandise? Do you just like putting number stickers on things? That's why I'm considering it, to be able to put number stickers on things.

    Can you explain the game of Poshmark in one of your videos? I heard that you have to do some kind of Social marketing.. How does that work ? Do you do that ? or do you just list on Poshmark and forget about it?

      I put the SKU as the very last info in my description on Poshmark. ie: I write SKU:15-0383. That way I don't have to go into the record to scroll all the way down to find it.

    I put the label on the other side, over the closure, in case it might get caught on anything sliding down USPS processing line, and in case the envelope adhesive fails. Whatever.

    • @larissaalcorn3406
      @larissaalcorn3406 3 роки тому +1

      I pack my items before printing and put the person's name on the packaging. Then just match them up

    • @ThriftALife
      @ThriftALife  3 роки тому +1

      When you buy your shipping labels, Ebay takes you to a page that has a list of all the items including the names and addresses of their buyers. I just look at the name and match it to the label.
