Thank you for posting! This is the exact problem I’m dealing with. Two different mechanics and neither one of them saw the broken connector. Very detailed and informative. Thanks again!
very very helpful. my gf scion xb is having this issue too. nice to see that this engine is the same..same with the gas tank part. i tried your manually blowing on her valve and it doesn't leak at all (which sucks cause i just got a replacement in from ebay today haha. ill be returning it). the hose from the firewall to the valve had a huge hole in it. i'm sure that was the issue. however i replaced it and the engine light is still on (its been 2+ weeks now) tomorrow I'm going to test the sensor wires and see if thats it. and just go get her a new gas cap since its kinda older. again. thank you for the video.
You should be looking at fuel tank pressure pid, watch pressure on your autel, if your losing pressure so fast you hear a hiss you'll be able to identify that on scanner.. I would say you with the compressed air are absolutely stressing the system to potentially its limits. Good strategies with your soapy water.
Great video and awesome work, but you repeat yourself a lot at least it seems as though do you ever notice yourself doing that not a problem for me but I was just trying to save you some video time thank you for all your help, time and effort I own a 05 Scion xB check engine light is on going to see if this is the problem. 👍
Referring to the part at 15:01: I took my car to the auto parts store and I had them test the volts on this part, they got nothing. I got home installed the new part and took another reading and I'm getting 6.5, which in this video is your bad reading. 😬 Could this mean I have a bad wire or possibly an electrical issue upstream? My battery is brand new and reading as it should.
I have p0445 and p0441. I had replaced the gas cap and solenoid last year and took it to a mechanic and he was able to pass the car. It was good for months but light came back on during summer and the car has been able to drive normally for the most part. I put in a cheap maf sensor and it didnt help. I replaced the air fuel ratio sensor the other day. Engine light back on. I am going to try to put a better maf sensor and replace the vapor canister along with pcv valve. Any thoughts?
Have you checked for and leaks in the lines? The system needs to be sealed, so if there is a Crack or a hole on any of the lines it will trigger the code. The proper way to test is to get a smoke machine!
@@jdcauto5977 yea true, i just replaced all that stuff today so ill have to see if my light comes back on again. ill prob have someone smoke it for me. thanks for the video and response

@@mariariverra2005 no in gcc version i guess its not at the bottom i checked it, anyways i did few things now i am getting 420km to 444km Alhamdulillah, 1st, the catalytic converter had no Filter changed its with a non genuine parts, and just few days back changed a gear shift Solenoid (used one) SL circuit now seems to better the mechanic said another solenoid is also not good, so will look into it when i get the other solenoid.
Hi. I need your help. The gear shift lever light on my scion xb 2006 stopped working, but the light bulb is fine. A few days after it stopped lighting it did it again and then it stopped lighting. The master light swish in the window and the swish in the mirrors do not turn on too. What could be the cause? Have a good day.
Sorry for late reply, When it comes to electrical you can vary from a wire having a short meaning that there is exposed wire in its contacting some area in causing it to not function properly. I would need to pull up an electrical diagram unfollow each wire in testThe voltage plus if it's shorting out somewhere. It's kind of an extensive process. It could also be a simple as a fuse that has gone out but usually in small electrical it's no Has there been any changes to the car's electrical than any way that may have caused this issue?
My connector has no visible problems but I'm only getting about 5 volts through it. Would a new connector potentially fox that or is there some kind of fuse to check?
ALL My Wires up front are starting to have problems nowadays ...THIN ThiN Wiring geeZ ...Horn, Headlights, Cam Shaft Sensor ....all wires starting to lose the brittle insulation and breaking
12.38V (2:48- 2:53), does not mean the battery is good. A fully charged 12V battery is about 12.65 to 12.75V. A "dead" battery will show 12 V or slightly less. A 12.38V is about 30%-40% "good"......
I got scarred when you pushed there straight shop air. EVAP smoke machine provides only 1.5 psi pressure caz higher pressure could damage evap system and those mechanical pots/diaphragms on canister most of toyotas. Some use LDP and vaccum to test itself-applying pressure would seal the leaks but in vaccum will open up and cause Leaks and codes to showup. So its way much involved than just shooting air in and listening for air hissing out--thats good way to test exhaust leaks but not evap.
