You know what a cry means right, its not just tears, its to cry out, its a shout, its actively suffering, wailing, weeping. Just tearing up isn't really traditionally considered to be crying, thats why in books "she cried" is more of a shout in sadness rather than just tearing up.

It’s beautiful how unique we all are. We all go thru the same experiences in life. But perception at different times in our life line creates differences. Most of us won’t understand what he meant. But as I think back. I once had this same moment. As i was building back my life, I cried while I was working. I was brushing the final coat of a terrace I was water proofing and a thought of the past subconsciously made me tear up. It was just for a minute or two. It was the first time I cried despite, me going thru the worst parts of my downfall which should have broken me. It didn’t hurt nor did I think too much after that.

Actually he has a point. After my brother died, I would have tears running my down my face while I was lifting weights. I wasn’t actively wallowing it was a different form of crying. Crying is natural, but it’s a dedicated act. Meaning that I had to be doing that and nothing else in the moment.
Why not just let yourself cry so you’re actually dealing with your emotions. The forced tears are your bodies way of telling you there’s emotional distress you’re avoiding, likely because you’re trying preoccupy yourself with other activities, which is the same as running from it. I get not wallowing, but the “act” of crying is something men especially probably need to learn to do more so their emotions don’t turn to pent up aggression later
