- Watch me pop my dinner as I show off the new popper that I got for ridiculous low price on Amazon. I eat a lot of popcorn as an important part of my healthy diet. Popcorn is so filling it helps me control my weight. I prefer this type of popper and am replacing an older model West Bend Stir Crazy.

Instructions on mine say to leave the top cap off while popping for steam to escape. So it doesn't make your popcorn soggy.
Thanks for the tip! I seldom read instructions. The one I had before I always left the top off and someone told me I should put it on! I eat popcorn every night and practically worship it, so I should be the authority. Anyhow, I will either study up on the matter or perform an experiment. 😊😊😊
Best to leave lid off as I've found from searching instructions! Viewer mentioned this and I made a Google search. I can't say I've had soggy popcorn with the lid on . . . but it's always good to follow instructions!
Yep! This is the one I got. I’m good at cleaning, but the small gap where the hot plate meets the insulation has me concerned now. Hopefully it’s not an issue, and doesn’t allow oil to reach the innards of the body. I guess I’ll be threading the corner of a paper towel through there every time, just in case. Thanks again for the look at your new popper!
I should make a video showing the inside of my old red Stir Crazy. I don't know how anyone might prevent what happened to me. I don't know how to prevent it in my new one, except remove the bottom plate every few months and clean it out if necessary.
That’s interesting! My wife and I love popcorn but we only eat it once a week on Sunday night, Popcorn Night! But we have always used an air popper, which I like just fine.
We also use Orville’s corn, though!

Eating popcorn every night is one of the brightest ideas I ever had. It solves the problem "What's for dinner tonight?" Simple, cheap, healthy and allows me to control my weight. I'm glad you like popcorn too! Rich
You folks must be like us, eating our main meal around 2-3 pm each day with a snack later in the evening. I do love popcorn - maybe I’ll try it for my snack more often!

I use peanuts, raisins &
sunflower seeds
You eat smart, which most folks, I'm afraid, don't. I'm a corn husker when it comes to pop corn!
Hey! How often do you use this one? and how has it held up in the past 5 months? I'm looking to buy this, but I've read some reviews on amazon for the blue one of people smelling burnt smell at first, or that theirs just broke down and stopped working. So, I'm curious to know your experience.. Thanks! :)
I would not buy Stir Crazy, period. We used these for several years and clean up is very messy. This year we've discovered hot air poppers and I much prefer these! I cook 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels in Dash hot air popper every day for my evening meal. This is a clean and fun way to cook popcorn. DASH Hot Air Popcorn Popper Maker with Measuring Cup to Portion Popping Corn Kernels + Melt Butter, 16 Cups - Aqua I found this at my local Goodwill store. You can purchase on Amazon. Every kernel will not pop and some will end up outside the bowl, but it's the cleanest and best way to make popcorn I've found. I will sell you my Stir Crazy machine very cheap, ho ho. Rich Davis
