Today, we buy a Lexus IS-F that has seen better days, but it's not for a traditional UA-camr rebuild - it's way more involved and special of a project.

The audio gets better once we step inside, the wind was brutal and we did our best with the dead cat, and Editor Duane did is best to make it sound like something other than a wind tunnel!
its really not too bad tbh
We will forgive you this time
Sometimes I'm okay with just keeping the wind as long as it's not peaking all over the place because the cutouts feel almost as bad with earphones. when you could hear it did sound nice though so props for that at least.
Before I saw this comment I thought it was my Bluetooth headphones lol.
Thank you, Editor I learned something new. (Atkinson Cycle Engine)
Even though I know how the atkinson cycle works, I really appreciated the editor stepping in. Need more of this.
Wth man, The editor needs his own channel. That was very informative in a short amount of time. Kudos to him!
Thanks Zain! You’re my favorite viewer today :)
@@decaharms give us More information
He should chime in a few times per video.
@@decaharms keep it up, your explanation was amazing!
Jared looks like Mr Incredible whenever he gets into a car
Facts
Yay! I love Robert, it was great having him pitch in on your video. You should invite him down more often ^_^
It's Under Dunn! Love his woodworking channel!
He has another channel called aging Wheels
Thank you, Mr. Editor.
Definitely appreciated the Atkinson's explanation. Great job guys!
Aging wheels! Love that guy nice to see him on
Look at the bricklin sitting behind it.. geeezzz what only 2500 of those built.. what a beaut lmao
the all mighty sv1 with doors you can't open if you roll the thing over
Forgot the editor is a car guy who also owns an IS F
I thought taravish edited the videos
@@omega1575 The editor is there since the international build. The channel is way to professional to do it all in your own.
I believe the editor is jared father in-law
No way! I was just wondering why in the flork more UA-camrs don't collab with aging wheels! The dude is such a great content creator in his own right. If you haven't checked him out, his channel is far better than you would think if only looking at his subscriber count.
I concur. He’s also hilarious, so much so that even my non-car family enjoys watching his videos. And my dad watches his woodworking stuff on Under Dunn :)
I've never seen Tavarish do a two-presenter intro solo like Robert does. The man has skills.
AGING WHEELSSSS
Much more interested in the Bricklin on the trailer.
Yeah that’s a cool car didn’t know Canada 🇨🇦 made such vehicles
And later in the background in the shop
I wonder if it was a Car Trek car delivered to his shop, since he already has the GTB (as seen in Shmee's video)
@@Knightfall23 looks like musti1 car...
I believe Freddie made a comment in an Instagram post a while back that he picked up a Bricklin.
"the front fell off" [i understood that reference!]
Same here...
We towed it outside of the environment.
Well, some of them are built so that the front doesn't fall off at all.
@@nestrac was that one built so the from doesn’t fall off?
“Well clearly not because the front fell off”
This one isn't made from cardboard or cardboard derivatives.
The editor's comment was gold. Please, add this in more videos, that'll make for more interesting and informative content. Way to go!
Agree! That was cool.
As soon as you hear tavarish say “we got extra boltage here” you immediately know that a guy might watch some vice grip garage 😂
Thought exactly the same :)
You should add aging wheels to your crew, I'd love it.
Good to see Robert again.. I hope to see him more often with you guys
He does like a very long way north of Florida though.
*DUDE shout OUT DUANE as always with the skills on the keyboard, and the knowledge drop*
*big GANG moves*
Nice to see you together.
I love that you make videos
The isf has somewhat comfortable seats with a bit more bolstering, but I still have to say that a Volvo s60r had the most comfortable seats from the cars that I owned. I bought a s60r from carstrada in Florida and drove it back to Canada and I just loved how comfortable that ride was. I read that the seats were designed with medical experts giving a helping hand. I think the older s60 xc90 were the best seats back in the day.
We need more Robert in these videos, he's an awesome guy
It has a 100ms shift time versus 200ms on the vaunted ZF 8 speed. So in the PWR mode in my LS460 Sport Edition of the same era, which has the same unit, it shifts very quickly but in the standard mode is admittedly a little slow and a little hesitant to downshift. Another thing to note compared to the ZF - once it downshifts in the PWR mode, it follows a methodically stepwise upshift that goes gear by gear. Lexus engineered this trans to have more efficient fluid routing. Although I have only 380 ish horsepower, it provides pretty snappy highway performance.
I approve this editor cut out, great bit
Of information💪🏻
im really excited to see this build. ive loved the 2ur for so long and felt like it has so much potential. id love to swap one into my GX470 someday
Long live the 2UR!
Saaame. Gotta love Toyota for making great V8s!
I was wondering what engine it is....
I actually really like the idea of what he's planning.
Toyota V8's are great!
Hrm, does this mean that we will be seeing that Bricklin on Aging wheels?
Awesome video guys. Happy to see the ISF featured more on this channel. I loled at Jared’s commentary (especially about the badges 😂😂).
Next cartrek should be ISF/W204 C63 AMG/E92 BMW M3. Sure it wouldnt be as crazy exciting as the exotic car season but it would be fun to see 3 car enthusiasts rate those three as practical sports sedans/coupe maybe even do a dustball rally in them haha.
Is that a Bricklin behind that thing?
Sho'nuff is! Now THAT is a platform for an epic build.
Did you notice it's parked in the shop also
Sure is. Had an opportunity to buy one years ago for a smoking deal but couldn’t swing it. I regret it to this day
We need Robert stuffing that drivetrain into the Trabant...
Please rebuild it🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥it will literally become a classic in the next few years, but also rebuild it because its sooooo coooool👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Hey Freddy you should find a way to graft the IS-F side-skirts and the vents from the IS-F front fenders onto the SC400
The Lexus ISF future classic car.
Glad to see it on the Channel. I want one Beautiful car with the epic engine sound
This was the best driving car back in 08. Wasn't fast in a straight line , but the stability at high speed , the way it shifts , was amazing. Also how the steering wheel moved when you got in it was awesome
rip the mic
Not just me then
@@alexairconditioning1581 i also thought it was some weirdness on my sound card drivers.....
Love seeing the Sydenstricker hat!!!!!!!! much love from Mid-MO
A moment of silence for everyone who thought thier headphone weren't working right and had to check it... only to realise it's the video 😶
Came here just to confirm 👍😂
Thank you.
I LOVE Jared’s shirt! “Sometimes One mans trash.... is just trash!” Hahahahahaha!!!!
I'm actually stoked to see this swap! An SC-F300!
You guys are such an awesome duo! Hilarious and educational, keep it up guys!
Hi Jared and Tarvarish and guest nice video 📹 and workmanship and car 🚗
Props to Dwayne for that explanation at @18:46 he guy deserves a bonus in his pay check for that :D
Thanks! You’re my favorite viewer today! :)
@@decaharms Only saying what is true. Side note I apologies for spelling your name incorrectly
I do think I would personally do a full build of a 1UZ or 3UZ VVTi for the SC using parts from XAT Racing. You can probably achieve better results and not have to decommission an IS-F.
Body isnt worth the repairs
26:07 I bet workin in the shop together is always a good time 😂😂
You guys need to put Jared’s shirt in the merch section, that thing is awesome
YESSSSSSSSSSSS cant wait for the sc built !!!! start ASAP
Excellent video... Still Waiting to hear Whats Up with the Lotus on the Lift?
Could I please buy the Fiero powertrain and chassis from the Countach kit Car?
Uhh sorry to break to you but I don’t think he’s gonna reply to you
That bumper behind your donor car is rather distinctive. Are you also working on a Bricklin?!?!?!?!?!?!
Aging wheels! that's the epic guy with the "how to drive a manual transmission car" video! and of course his Trabant shenanigans. that was a fun flashback moment
I keep looking at the 911. I want that one finished!
It sounds like the squirrel got destroyed with his acorn horde, it wasn’t the mass air flow sensor. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Freedy's hair line is running away from his questionable choices 😂
Maybe he can get a refund for that Keeps 😏
Digging the Bricklin in the background.
Super cool, with the quick learning about the engine!! :D
your buddy with the trailer reminds me a lot of Marty Mulholland from Mighty Car Mods
Robert Dunn .. The man. The legend... And try and search "the front fell of" on UA-cam
Retrofitting the new systems onto the old car would be cool
the Bricklin SV-1 that was on the trailer would be a lot more interesting to me as a Canadian
Canadian version of "is that a Supra?"
@@jeeplivion yup pretty much!
Mazda Millennia had a supercharged Atkinson v6. Positive pressure on the intake side gives you the power while still being very economical.
That Lexus of Dayton is only about 3 miles from my house and pretty much across the street from my office. Nice!
This would compliment the crispy ferrari project perfectly or something like it. Good power somewhat reliable.
I really appreciated the editors notes
Jared throwing some real shade at the is200 owners lol. Claws came out!
I fully support this build. I cannot wait.
I love the chemistry between Tavarish and Jared.
burst of info from Duane. Loving it
I have the same color ISF with minor cosmetic issues and I would love to have that rear bumper cover, passenger mirror cover and amplifier (as mine seem to be going out).
Hey guys i own a isf and i need that lower engine splash cover would you sell it to me??
"Now that we're alone" lol I was like whoa dude!.. false alarm. 🤣🤣
Ask him about the Weego ! Bring it back to life ! I was sad that you killing a IS-F but, once you said going make a SC a wild one... my sadness went away...
I'm a big Lexus fan been driving them for over 20 years now...
Woah woah woah, whose sexy Tacoma was that? How about an overland build?!
Same with the 4runner that's someone's in the background and in cartrek
Love 'the front fell off' reference 😂😂 usually the front doesn't fall off....
You need the jumper box that they sponsor everybody on here for UA-camrs
I think this is my old ISF! Hopefully I can reach out to the guys to see, but I had an identical 08, that I did the figs blue intake tube, carbon side skirts, and had my calipers done in burnt copper.
Ooooo weeee drop the motor and drive train into your favorite Lexus SC and wow you've got a Lexus Supra. Edited after watching the video and realizing that it is your exact plan.
That drivetrain would be ripe for my pristine 1985 Corolla GT-S AE86 3-door coupe.
At 19:33 that’s in Gainesville ga I drive by it almost everyday it’s right before a Kroger
Hey Freddy I hope you feel better. Is the Porsche getting a video soon? It was so promising!
BRICKLAND? That should be an interesting project
Really looking forward to this!!!! Idk whether to be happy or sad since I'm looking for one haha
I can't tell you how excited I am about this build.
I wanna know more about that Bricklin you have tucked into the corner that was on the trailer with the Lexus
All my UA-camrs are now linked. Hi technology connections via ageingwheels
This editor is awesome 😎
Thanks Julio. You’re awesome too. Thanks for watching!
New car day is like Christmas but all the gifts are from IKEA
You definitely should incorporate the exhaust tips on to the finished product
I have to say the hairline has been looking noticeably better. I appreciate Editor Duane for his efforts in keeping the viewers informed. I get the impression the Bricklin is for a future video either here or on Robert "Aging Wheels" Dunn's channel... a man well know for questionable decisions and building things better in his own right.
i could relate so hard when he was talking about IS250 owners adding badges to make it look like an ISF. literally me :)
IS-F gang gang Welcome Tavarish. Can't wait to see what you do to it
Did anyone else start watching this video wondering if Freddy was still on Keeps since his hair looks less sparse? I LOL'd when the promo came because I was just thinking it.
He probaly got hair plugs and pretended to be sick for 2 months
This has to be going into the other Lexus... If so, it’s going to be one bad a$$$$ little machine! Can’t wait!
Also please use the Lexus's exhaust it looks so cool
As an sc300 and 400 owner I’m stoked to see this build! Go Freddy and Jared!
Wondered why Robert hadn't posted in a bit, this explains it! always great to see my channels cross paths in the youtube world lol
I’ve been wanting a isf That would be so crazy if you could switch that engine in my is350
Have u always had that little fast & furious looking green car in the back lol I can’t remember you have had so many cars 😂
Should of had a tour of that Bricklin on the trailer.
The GSF and RCF from later has the Atkinson cycle feature .
