My red flag was "Modern gaming audience". There is no modern gaming audience. The audience is simply gamers. That's it.
It means feminists and LGBTs, who will barely play the game at all.
@@carny15Those are just people in the audience.

All three of them.
If they do it’s cuz they’re lookin for the bait and switch
@@secondchance6603 Hey now!....There's at least 2000 of them going by Concord steam charts.
"For the modern gaming audience"

Ahh the old Suicide Squad routine
That is the big concern and their last big release Wolfenstein: Youngblood was horrible also another concern
Tbf i didnt see any reflection of that in this showcase not even in tone, so maybe its only a couple of scenes. Cause you'd think they would love to show that off
It does seem pretty amusing that after decades of his “spiritual successors” like Tomb Raider and Uncharted doing what they do with the Indiana jones shtick in video game land and becoming pretty iconic figures in gaming, Indiana Jones itself has to figure outta way to stand out.
Too little, too late imo
@@ybyby3rddayit’s not to late, Indiana Jones is a classic the fans will like it, if you was never into Indy you wont care 🤷🏾♂️
"It's being executive produced by Todd Howard.."
My man, did you just really say that as if it's supposed to be encouraging? 🤨
While i don't trust Todd either, an executive producer only finances the project. He doesn't have a creative input. So it's not a bad thing
@@kingsmerte3629yes they do lol. That’s the whole point of a producer. They finance the project and get to have final say on the project. What would be the point of paying for everything if you have no input

Acting like Todd Howard is not a good game developer/designer
Biggest Red Flag: Microsoft and Disney making a game.
Edit, after more than 9 hours of original post: "Well.... that escalated quickly..."
Also "for modern" audience.

Todd Howard? That's a red flag right there.
People still believes in this liar lol how sad. After Fallout 4 i never touched and played anything he is involved in
After starfield I have lost all hope for them
Major red flags: the interviews pretty much saying Indiana is in this just for the fun and the new "I am totally not a KK self insert character" is the one with actual stakes in the story with a real reason to go after the treasure, meaning she is the true protagonist of a game called INDIANA JONES.
Yeah, same here. I want this to be good, but I'll definitely wait for some sensible youtubers to review it first. Definitely won't preorder or buy it on day one.

@@henrystory4703 I'm not a Gamepass subscriber. Definitely won't be after their latest price hikes and changes 😀. But yeah, I don't really like the whole game subscription concept, I'd rather own the games I play 🙂. I know that with all-digital purchases I can't really say I own the games I buy... for instance, who knows when Valve removes a game I like from Steam, even after I purchased it? But I have physical copies of the older games I like that had physical releases and I try to look for newer releases on GOG and prefer them, GOG has the option of downloading DRM free offline installers of every game you buy 🙂

Why would I want a first person indie game when Uncharted has shown us how awesome third person archeology type games can be
Because if they did it in third person you have said that it's like a worse Uncharted.
@@ricomyxledeuxieme1657Changing the camera perspective doesn't make it immune from that criticism
@@ricomyxledeuxieme1657 yeah. But it would have at least been better than the current version. I think they tried too much to distance themselves from uncharted to the point were they are way off. It’s like making a spiderman game first person. People are gonna compare it to the third person version so if you do it, it better be out of this world. If not, you end up being viewed as a mediocre game
I'd hope you understand this is by the same studio that has brought us Wolfenstein right. First person is what they're specialized in and first person punching nazis? it feels much more personal and visceral that way. I love uncharted, but let them cook up something new and fresh.

this guy lol
Also, it is a Disney/Lucasfilm project made with Todd Howard at the helm and the studio that killed Wolfenstein halfway through a new trilogy.
I can't imagine why gamers would not be that hyped, it must be just the lenght of the game, suuuure, just the lenght of the game, nothing to see here.
Kathleen Kennedy and Todd Howard working together, what a nightmare 😂
Idk i mean, the SW jedi duology Is awesome, so i'm a bit optimistic
Todd Howard being involved makes me wary of this game. Also it being for "modern audiences" is a red flag.
It makes no sense why this game would be in first person. They must've paid a small fortune to secure Harrison Ford's likeness.. and they only let you see his damn character model in cutscenes and while doing contextual actions? Absolutely bewildering decision.
@TheScepticalThinker1 dude, I've played all their games, including the games they made under Starbreeze, so yes, I'm familiar with them working on first-person titles, but this is Harrison Ford's likeness. We wanna see that man at all times.
Yeah, it's one of the many bizarre decisions over at Microsoft's gaming division. I just don't get it.
@TheScepticalThinker1 Then dont make such a game?
Well, to be fair, even in third person you'd mostly see only the back of his head anyways.
It’s a younger Indiana jones I don’t think they even needed Harrison Fords permission for that. The character is 100% owned by Disney not Ford.

Are they going to show some gameplay soon or a week before the game release? That's a Huge Red Flsg🚩
My problem with what I've yet seen is the lack of gameplay footage. The few glimpses I got of that don't look very enticing, and I'm having a little trouble imagining how they'll make that part work with Indiana Jones. I can see they make it work with Wolfenstein, I can't see it with Indy. That in itself doesn't meam much, still I have my doubts. Also, a studio that could make it work 5-10 years ago, may not be able to do it again today (things change, talent may leave, etc.). I don't want the game to fail, but I'm skeptical is all I'm saying, and that I'm not conviced of success and not excited about it
Overly masculine boss babe will completely outshine Indy!
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Perpetual Menstruation
Yea the last movie really pushed him to the side
I doubt machine games will do that based on their other games
@@nsbm159I think they’re mainly in charge of the gameplay direction, not writing

To me, the gameplay looks stiff and the writing so far has been meh. Like the comedy we've seen so far has not been funny at all. Marvel level comedy. And Todd Howard attached, yeesh.
Ngl the comedy got me sold. Its like straight out of an indy movie. These movies had A LOOOOOT of slapstick humor
@@moritzkersting7563 slapstick isn't the issue.
I just don't understand why you would make an indianna jones game first person.
y’all just can’t help yourselves with the complaining 😂 paying for a 10-15 hour experience is too much, but then 80+ open world games are boring and bloated, which one is it??
On paper, first-person perspective seems weird for an Indy Jones game. But I'll just wait to see how it all looks.
My main concern is that they have not shown a long section of the first person gameplay going from puzzle to combat and back to puzzle. It’s all been quick cuts of the first person gameplay which make me feel like they are hiding it and maybe it does not feel very good.
Idk why give it to Machine Games, to me it feels like they felt out of options. There would be no mistake with an Uncharted like Indiana Jones game, it has been done before in the ps2 era, and the game was very good for it’s time. Why change a formula that has worked before and has little offer in the market ?
My biggest concern is being forced to play extended sequences as the other lady following Indy. I hated Spider-Man PS4 for forcing me to play as MJ. I like MJ as a character; that doesn't mean I want to play as her in a video game - especially when Spider-Man is on the box. Regardless of her having her own strengths and weaknesses, she is nine times out of ten going to feel like a depowered version of Indy and a chore to play as since they're obviously going to need to remove his abilities from the player during those sequences. That being said: if they have a seamless switching sequence where you need her particular skillset as well as Indy's for solving puzzles to give the experience of them working together in a similar vein to Lego Indiana Jones, that would be absolutely acceptable. But I don't want the game to suddenly have me play as a character I care less about for an hour with a play style I hate multiple times across the full play time.
Based on the interviews, expect a lot of this... They say than Indi is basically a side character.
@@Ewiril yet Indy is dominating the marketing; almost as if they know their original character isn't going to sell the game 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
This game is Kathleen Kennedy Lucasfilm. It will BLOW. They will transfer all the agency to a 18 year-old girl… mark my words.
They pretty much said so in the interviews
"Machine Games knows what they're doing." Are we really still saying stuff like this after what happened to studios like Arcane Austin? Studios know what they are doing, until they don't.
“First person shooting and fighting always looks weird without the hud” huh??? Sentence I’ve never heard in gaming lol
Yeah I am not holding my breath on this one until it is out

I’m just a bit skeptical because of how they haven’t shown really any lengthy actual gameplay. Just cutscenes and then quick snippets of gameplay
Todd was also a big space game Fan and look how that turned out
We have to see a full gameplay video. I am sure its going to be a movie like hellblade was... But this will probably have more gameplay.
highly doubt indy will be atleast gameplay wise much more than 1997 tomb raider 2, up down left right do an puzzle up some stairs maybe sneak up on an enemy. Sure better graphics but every single thing done in the game atleast so far shown in reveals has been done before... feels 6 years to late.
As a die hard indy fan this looks like it was made for us as opposed to the general audience, which is why there's a disconnect, I think. People are expecting uncharted but FOR ME everything shown so far is perfect for how an indiana jones game should be especially the first person mode to make me really immersed as my favorite hero ever, I've been watching and playing as indy for 25 years and I feel Todd's passion so much here that I'm more excited for this game than I was for the elden ring dlc

Indiana Jones has good writing. To say it doesnt is absurd. The scripts themselves aren’t overly serious because their tone is supposed to capture that Saturday morning cartoon appeal. The more exaggerated reality of older adventure media. The writing is witty and smart and often subtle in wonderfully rewarding ways. Cmon, Luke

I'm glad they had Machinegames make the game. I think they're the right studio for it based on their previous work.
The languade and gore are obviously going to be toned down a bit from how they were in the Wolfenstein games, but overall the kind of writing and gameplay Machinegames do fits Indiana Jones as well imo.

I think it looks like its more movie than game (what they have shown doesnt look any different from a walking simulator with an extra serving of cutscenes) and they are obviously going to bait and switch us, forcing the role of protagonist to the phoebe waller bridge's stand in for a significant part of the story and set her up as the main for a doomed sequel. I'm definitely in the 3rd person camp so I think Machine games was just a rough pick for an indiana jones game to begin with given their experience as a fps dev, and also the last 2 wolfenstein games being pretty bad. In a different time line we could have gotten an indy game by tango games as they would have built on their experience with tps with the evil within games. I don't trust machine games at all when it comes to story however there are some interesting things with the gameplay that will probably come down to the execution as to whether they are good or not.

It being first person actually makes it interesting and not just the tomb raider reboot games
A modern western game ? We all know how it's going to go
4:32 If all you want is a cute kitty to look at and maybe listen to Luke talking a bit 😻
The biggest red flag is the modern DEIsney 🤮 Hard pass.
I think part of the reason it's first person is because it has to stand out from games that have nearly mastered the "Indiana Jones" homage like Uncharted or Tomb Raider.
One red flag imo is that when they do show the game it is 90% cutscenes and 10% gameplay. They have never shown the gameplay for more than a few seconds at a time.
Telling people theyre supposed to be having fun and to not treat everything as a 10/10 or dumpsterfire. When the studios themself have forgotten what fun is, only focus on money, often ruins the costumers fun or straight scam them with CGI trailers and insane extreme marketing hypetrains and when they get upset tell them theyre wrong for feeling bad and to shut up and spend money.
But nah its not healthy for the industry that theres backlash from people. Dont blame the costumer for being burned, blame the companies for burning them. This enviroment is what the industry itself have crafted through its actions. Is it healthy? No, will it change? Also no, until studios and companies themself change. This is rightfully deserved.
I do think people tend to reeeeeeeeaaaaaaally critique new games more so than they used to. Not every game is gonna be a 10/10 graphically and then hearing "The eyes look weird" as a reason not to buy is just kind of weird to me. Even if they did, the rest of it (At least to me) looks pretty damn good.
That what happens when games become 70+ dollars .. don't blame em one bit.
The fact that it is weird for you doesnt change the fact that if they feel that way, and dont buy it, then its a valid critique. Customer is always right in the matter of taste. If people generally agree that this taste like shit, then it does.
@@Ewiril The problem is most people aren't tasting it. They're just echoing whatever someone else is saying until everyone is saying it.
@@blackdoc6320 You have no evidence of this, but even if... If everyone is just saying that the game looks like shit even if they dont think so, thats just mean that they generally dont give a shit about the game AT ALL. And you know whats worse than hate? Apathy! ... Just look at Concord.

honestly would've been cool to see them hire mark hamill for Indiana Jones. Not sure if he could pull off the younger Harrison ford but he's already been in plenty of games
To me, the gameplay looks slow and boring. The movement is stilted and there's only 1 or 2 enemies on screen at a time. I don't see an interesting rhythm or urgency. The pre-scripted animations and cutscenes look like they're trying too hard to recapture the feeling of the movies. I could care less about watching things. I want an Indy simulator, saturated with cultural lore where I can discover and use a ton of relics, explore and interact with busy foreign markets and influence decades of history by aligning artifacts with different world powers
Raiders of the Lost Ark is considered to be one of the best movie scripts ever written, I think? It's like the perfect movie in terms of pacing and everything. Campy doesn't mean bad. Jesus.
Maybe it’s just me, but I always wished I could see a more selfish Indiana Jones from the early to mid 1930s. I wanna see what kinds of shady characters and criminal underbellies he gets involved with. Temple of Doom kinda hinted at this but for some reason they never went back to this idea. It’s a cool part of his development but gets shelved for his never-ending fight against Nazis, it’s weird
For now, the only (potential) red flag is that this is Bethesda-related... The only hope is that they are not making it!
Looks pretty on point to the classic films 👌
Kinda wish it was 3rd person tho
Indiana Jones were the only movies I cared to own physically as a kid
Bethesda means first person… it’s why with my severe motion sickness issues, I haven’t played one of their games since early falling off of FO3 and getting ill within two hours of Skyrim at launch. That said - the ONE advantage to doing Indy in FP… is it helps avoid the Uncharted or Tomb Raider rip off criticism. The perspective makes it unique after those two games borrowed a LOT of inspiration from Indy. Here, the FP camera hides a lot of whatever might have really felt copy and pasted. Whether it’s good or not… no idea. It does look fun to me, even though I can’t try it for myself.
I used to love Indiana Jones, but the lastest movies completely destroyed any enthusiasm for anything connected to the franchise. The other thing is that there are games like Uncharted and Tomb Raider which completely satisfy my needs for Indiana Jones games.
Bethesda and Ubisoft are two names I avoid. Stubborn, old-fashioned (not using innovation thats came from recent years in gaming industry), objective checkmark based, etc.
Machine games made The New Order but they also made The New Colossus and Young Blood. If you're only as good as your last game then Machine games is has to deal with the stink of their last two. It could end up being good but my biggest fear is that the narrative will not be able to 'get out of it's own way' and end up flanderizing or deconstruction Indiana, the villains being just comic relief rather than dangerous and interesting, and lead female character being a statement rather than a fleshed out character.
You have been vindicated. I got annoyed with your skepticism of Starfield, but I quickly admitted when you turned out right as rain. I will forever trust your taste and eye for these things.
Sorry the cat is adorable what is his /her name?
Luke has bonded with that cat like a Targaryen with a dragon. Great to see.
the people who arent going to play this because its 1st person, which is what Machine Games does, are the same who complained about Suicide Squad devs being forced to make a live service.
The new order not getting above a 7 is criminal.
I thought this was Tommy from Mafia
Machine Games is a good studio but I absolutely HATED Wolfenstein: Young Blood!! It was riddled with bugs. It's current rating on Steam is 32%. I really hope Indiana Jones doesn't turn into that dumpster fire of a game....
It was also a SHIT story lol.
HELL YEAH DUDE!
It was Arkane that developed young blood not Machinegames
@Calculon1712 Wrong. Machine Games were the primary developers, and Arkane Lyon was mainly there to offer assistance with the RPG elements.
@@modernmobster well I only knew arkane was attached I've never played it but I trust MachineGames as they've done good in the past with the other titles
The cutscenes look good but the gameplay looked janky and unimpressive which is probably why they showed so little of it. That corny joke the nazi made about American cartoons was cringeworthy. I’m hoping it turns out to be good.
It would be cool if they mimic certain mechanics from Chronicles of Riddick🤞🏼
I judge games based on their core value, outside the added appeal of game pass because not everyone has game pass (me included) and game pass prices are only rising to ridiculous levels. Anyway, it just makes sense to me to look at the game itself, not whether or not it’s on game pass. If I sign up for a subscription that sends me a box of fruit to my doorstep every day and every once in a while the box is filled with moldy, rotten fruit, I’m gonna call it a disappointment regardless of whether or not the actual fruit subscription was a good deal. Rotten fruit is rotten fruit (tho I’m not saying the Indiana Jones game will be rotten, not at all)
i always think of machinegames like id software's younger sibling lol
Imo Game Pass shouldn’t be taken into account when critiquing or judging a game’s value. The standard should be going off of the price they are charging you to own it not rent it. Game Pass should be more of a caveat at the end.
I will decide when it comes out. Don't want to get burned again...
my biggest flag was when i heard it was Todd Howard’s version of indy. He’s a legend and has made some epic games but like many people who have done great things they let time pass them by. He seems set on making games like it’s 2010. That only works if you can put a great story in it and if Starfield is any indication Todd Howard ain’t great at stories either. They should have let Machine games do the whole thing and keep him out of the way
The Wolfenstein games were awesome (except the weird co-op game) and if they can bring that gameplay and storytelling I would definitely pay 70 bucks.
For me my red flags is first person view
I just think the actual gameplay looks kind of bland. I cant tell if it seems too loose or too stilted or what, but it just looks wrong.
It looks almost pre rendered, not actual real time gameplay xD
Game looks fun. The woman looks like a xenomorph, but sure, I'll give it a try.
It would be awesome if it’s good but I have no confidence in Todd “16 times the detail” Howard, and when they say stupid shit like for modern audiences it makes me not want it
I'm not following this game at all but if Tod Howard is involved, best hope it's not his usual team or that shit is gonna be buggy in the weirdest ways
