You have discovered how different opinions work, yes

Chronicles of Riddick was an absolutely incredible game... super unique..
Yeah it was really fun game to play and so many unique way to finish your goals
I played Escape from Butcher Bay when it came out, awesome game. If this is anything like that it should be great but to think for a second anyone should take any notice of what IGN says is insane. I'll wait for it to come out and then see as who the hell trusts anything the mainstream media says.
Well if you know indie, fighting isn’t his strength, it’s his wit and hes really clumsy which makes it funnier.. he won’t’ use his gun but he’ll use someone else’s gun.
If they really capture his cockiness and also his clumsiness and charm we should be good. The tank scene in last crusade is a good example if they can replicate those kinda scenes with no qte ‘I’ve never really seen it done before’ but ya.. it would be really cool. To have fight scenes but it’s not all fighting.. thats something I’ve never seen done and dont ow how you would do it without being quick time or tell tale style.
Riddick's games were so incredible and their submarine success always pained me!
Had this on the wishlist for quite a while - and then they came out with the pricing. A$119.95 for the base game, and A$169.95 for the Premium Edition. For those prices, it'd better be freaking phenomenal!
@@DakotaRose2546 it’s on Game Pass or you can get it on its own for $70 wdym?
I need Luke to read every audiobook I ever listen to
@Weeeest246 samee, I just love listening to him talk. I sometimes just play his videos when I'm doing something even if I'm not interested in what he is talking about just cause it's so nice to hear him talk about stuff.
I just don't understand why they didn't show us the 30 gameplay demo. The game is basically 3 months away.
To be fair, Nintendo doesn’t usually share any gameplay, even 10 minutes, until 1-2 months before release
I’m pretty cautiously hyped for this game, but it’s definitely pretty worrying that they haven’t shown any long gameplay, they have only shown 5-10 second clips
@@TheCephalonNintendo is Nintendo. This is not made by Nintendo.
I don't trust IGN
Especially not Ryan mccafrey lol
IGN wasn’t the only one who got the preview, other individuals that I trust way more than Ryan said positive things
@@Gouda992 this is specifically pertaining to ign.
All I want is short round to get a fair cameo.. he should have been the side kick in dial or this. N the proper successor to indie if necessary
Weve always needed a great open world/open hubs indiana jones game. That would allow us to redo all the adventures from the movies and new stuff. So i hope this game (although its not exactly what i said we need) ends up being incredible that said. Ill believe it when i see it.
The IGN article almost sounds like advertisement.
Well, duh
I haven’t been excited for a game in a long time. It looks exactly like how an Indiana jones adventure game should be, even down to the time setting and prime of Indiana’s career. So hyped 🎉
Ryan has a habit of slobbering all over over Phil and Xbox he'll never say anything bad and always makes excuses.. i remember ign unlocked podcast when Redfall released everyone on the show with him i think was Destin and Tina was all shiting on the game how and why was this allowed to released and everytime they tried to say something negative about the game Ryan would always cut them off or change subject quickly and did same starfield if someone said i didn't like that thing Ryan would cut in talk over and change subject
This synopsis made me less excited and i wasn’t very excited to begin with
is it weird that i feel less confident about this game after hearing this article?
i mean im getting the starfield flashbacks about how they were saying that starfield had no bugs in the interviews before the game came out.
This game is like 10 years too late this game was already made and it was called Uncharted which it's very purpose was supposed to be a video game spiritual successor to Indiana Jones.
Seriously need a remake of the Riddick games Escape from Butcher Bay & Assault on Dark Athena. These games would look INSANE with modern hardware and graphics tech… The atmosphere in these games was next level…

It's kind of problematic to use a white male for Indi instead of trying a more diverse cast

Personally I think they should use a hideious, obnoxious, white british woman who is younger
Right, why didn't they make him gay and lame?

White male running around with a whip?! This is slavery glorificatition! YIKES!!!
Nice. I was complaining ps5 was getting any thing for thier exclusives . Nice too see something . I'm willing to give machine games a chance .
I think another part of the negativity is the growing discontent with the industry as a whole. A lot of people are getting tired of being burned over and over by AAA+/-A titles that turn out to be massive duds. We're seeing both some of the most incredible and most anemic offerings in gaming ever in the past few years and it's extremely hard to maintain a level of expectation that seems reasonable. Do we compare games to the scope and quality of Elden Ring or Baldur's Gate? Should we lower our standards to the level of Redfall or Starfield? Where exactly is the happy medium, and should we honestly even accept a happy medium from companies expecting us to pay 'premium pricing'?
Just don't get your hopes up and wait for reviews
AAA isn’t a guarantee of quality, it’s a mark of the budget. There have been plenty of shit AAA games across numerous generations. It’s not a new thing.
@@bdizzle9586 That is true, but we also never had companies calling their games cost "premium pricing". That implies a certain standard should be met, no?
@@tehrickles1447 It’s semantics. Premium pricing/AAA it’s all the same thing. None of denotes quality. It should but iIt never has.
I compare games by how much they cost me. It's not my problem that a game was made by a small studio or x, y other reason. If it's a $70 game then yeah it's getting compared to Elden Ring and others in that bracket.
Ryan McCaffery is the antithesis of hype makes you stupid.

The Wolfenstein games have some of the most satisfying first person gameplay in the genre and we know they can do Nazi stealth, I'm just still unsure how gun-less combat is going to feel. That's the thing. Machinegames, since they were Starbreeze, have always been great at creating a feeling of body awareness and spacial awareness in their games. You really feel like the character in that space. Look down, see your feet and hands, etc. But the action never feels great.
I don’t know if I’m in the minority here but I can’t get passed the first person aspect. If there was any game that should be third person…it’s Indiana Jones
It will be as great as the last ij movie. Sucks too was looking forward to seeing the antikythera mechanism but they've run this franchise to the ground and i don't see it getting better

This will be a game where someone in a few years will say "remember this" and you will go "oh yeah". And that's it.
No, it won't. It is game pass day one and will get poor reviews. I predict 6/10
6/10 can still sell good enough on IP alone and not all people read reviews, or just don't care about them.
both our statements can be true at the same time.
also my main point is that it will be a extremely forgettable game (i.e. bad).
so we are in agreement.
In general I want to be excited for this game but anything coming from IGN I tend to get a little skeptical. If this game is as good as Butcher Bay was I will most likely get it. But I'm not going to preorder. This is just one of those games that Hasn't made me feel compelled to do so.
Now as a Playstation boy I'm excited that its going to PS. Understand that there's people who are upset. but for me, I can't say that I am.
So he watched a pre-recorded video of choreographed footage? ... and I'm supposed to care why exactly? 🤔
Same routine on the build-up to *all* Xbox releases ... hide the game right up until release followed by mass indifference immediately after release.
I can’t be the only one that thinks this game looks very… mid? Not bad but just unimpressive?
I understand why Xbox users want affirmation because of Sonys exclusives. But the industry is changing. In the future I don’t think there’ll be much for exclusives anymore. So as long as we get the games why should we care if other platform users do? It’s just stingy and silly lol
Without exclusive games, quality of games became stale.
Sure you have elden ring and GTA 6, but they are once in a generation game!
Compare that with exclusive games sony released back on the ps 4, we have Bloodborne, uncharted 4, god of war 2018, spider man etc, back to back!
My main point with exclusive game developer have a much more high incentive to make the BEST game than no exclusive you just released games with the bare minumum.
Nintendo ain't bringing their stuff over lol.
I wish Xbox would stop speaking for an industry they quite clearly don’t have the first foggiest clue about.
You parroting their bs only makes you as dumb as them.

@@ChocolateEffigy what in my comment is wrong??? Please enlightened me!
I've wanted a great Indiana Jones game for the longest time, but this just doesn't look like it's going to be that for me. Uncharted is just a much better Indie game then this will ever reach. I know it's a generic response, but it's because it's simply true.
Uncharted took a lot of inspiration, as did Lara, but it's definitely something different from Indiana, don't expect anything similar between the two games
not true at all. Adventure style games should all be in first-person. Uncharted wasn't. This is.
@@xman777b i highly disagree. It is very situational and for a game like an Indiana Jones one, 3rd person makes so much more sense. But it looks like it's going to be mostly puzzles, so it's not what I want either way. It's likely going to be puzzle, cutscene, small fight, puzzle, cutscene, puzzle, cutscene, on rails fighting scenerio cutscene. That type of game.
You are stating truth and fiction like you've played the game for 100 hours. You've seen 3 minutes worth of trailers and a few screenshots, you have absolutely zero grounds to judge this game. It can look good, it can look bad, but you can't call it "objectively" anything. You genuinely made me laugh out loud, words mean nothing anymore. Radicalized opinions about something you have no knowledge on is the new norm.
I was born an Indiana Jones fan, I've been waiting for a good indie game (that isn't lego) for a long time. This has a lot of potential, though I'm not going to get over excited yet.
@@DrivingGod21 I've played enough games to know what this will likely be like. This is how we judge before we make a purchase. This "you didn't even play it yet" has always been brain shot, because at this point, I rarely get surprised by a new game because I practically have played it already, and know what to expect. I don't understand how this is so foreign to people. If you're knew to video games, sure, I understand. But if you've been playing every type of game out there for about 20 years, you have no excuse. Seen it, done that. Doesn't look interesting to me, that simple. We can easily get a rough but really good idea of what the game will be like. Even in the story we can come up with a pretty basic Indie story, and it will more likely than not be that.
You can act all blind or brain shot to it all you want, but it's really easy to know what to expect from 99% of games now. "You didn't even play it yet so why do you have those opinions" will always be an easy tell that your simply mentally deficient and are lacking some pretty basic pattern recognition and basic critical thinking skills. People like you throw away every game that similar out from decades past. Like we shouldn't know what to expect. Memory of goldfish, or just intentionally being ignorant.
Also I wasn't speaking "objectively" on whether the game will be good or bad. It simply won't outdo Uncharted in it's genre, which is true, it isn't going to.
It’s is a first person shooter
I dunno, everything I've heard and seen of the game just makes it look kind of bland.
