𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒂'𝒔 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 is a folk spanish song with a modern twist.
On the 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 of the performance:
    - The song genre is a '𝑏𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑟𝑖́𝑎' (kind of a specific subgenere of flamenco) with electronic touches.
    - The lyrics of the song is a 𝑙𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑦.
'éa éa' is an onomatopeia in Spain we use to calm childrens while they are crying.
𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑔 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑟𝑒𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑜𝑒𝑚𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝐹𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑜 𝐺𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑖́𝑎 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑎. One of the most important poets of Spain.
Is the story of a mother who want to be buried into the moon when she dies to see her child every night except one (new moon day).
    - The 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔 has been 𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 and 𝑑𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑒𝑑 by ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓. Until two years ago, Blanca worked as a set designer. She is not a professional singer.
The 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑠 𝑎 𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑏𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑚𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟. The red fringes recreate 'un mantón de manila'. A piece of clothing typical of the Spanish culture. Simulates the arms of her grandmother dressed with the 'mantón' hugging her.
    The circle represents the moon.
The dancers also accompany her in the 'palmeo' and the choirs, with 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑒𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑝ℎ𝑦 𝑠𝑖𝑚𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑎 𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑒. Evoking the birth of a child .

Éa éa is that Spanish mothers say to calm their children while they are crying. The song tells the story of a mother who wants to be buried in the moon when she dies to see her child every night except one (the new moon day). The red strings of the staging are very typical in the Spanish flamenco costumes. Also the song has references to the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca, one of the most important poets of Spain. This is the most Spanish entry we ever had and we are so proud of her.
if you understand the lirycs, every thing she does takes sense. The moon, the hands placed like a birth canal where she puts her head lying down, the eye from the moon, the movements of the dancers as giving birth, the fringes of the shawl with which the mother gathers the child, ....

Eres sensible y culto. Gunther, abre la mente y los oídos. Escucha sin prejuicios, por favor 😉

How to explain me in english....... I'll try. It's absolutely necessary to understand lyrics and what' s going on (I let you some explanation down). For me eurovision must to let the pop/rock/ballade stereotypes and let to know more about the music from different countries. Not all the music must be just in english, not all the music has to be "facilona" (not translation for it) it is not something easy to eat and taste the very first time. Like wine you need to be in use drinking it to apreciate. Preferiría explicarlo en español porque me faltan muchos matices en el inglés que no domino. En cualquier caso gracias por vuestra reacción os suscribo and please be more deeper reacting

The problem with Blanca Paloma's entry is that EVERY SINGLE REACTOR is expecting a SloMo 2.0. If Spain sent Terra by Tanxugueiras (which won the televotes) last year, Eaea wouldn't have sounded different now to these reactors.
Eaea is written as a lullaby, then electronic sounds, and clapping and dance moves similar to how a mom sings to her child to lull it to sleep were added and now you have this flamenco-fusion. Its being a lullaby is very obvious if you listen to the acoustic version.
So in the end, the problem with Eaea is NOT with the song or the staging itself, its with the people approaching it expecting to shake their ass and fuck with someone while the music is playing but being met with understated flamenco-fusion elegance. Thus, the disappointment.
I'm honestly more disappointed with the reactors at this point.

True, however you can't force people to like something they don't like or don't connect with. At the end of the day the average Eurovision viewer isn't there to gain a doctorate in the musical culture of the respective countries entering the competition; the are there to be entertained and entertained fairly superficially. It is bubblegum entertainment rather than museum entertainment. Eurovision audiences, though diverse are by and large not very sophisticated. What tends to motivate most of them is having a laugh, mostly at the competition's expense, or having a dance.

Spain “can do” … what everyone else can do? Sure!, it proved that last year, we prove it with Rosalía and many others outside of Eurovision, but, this time they’ve been faithful to the saying, “Spain is different”.
    It’s not just a song, it’s ART.
Just a little bit of insight into Spanish southern culture and it’s most famous, world renowned poet, FEDERICO GARCÍA LORCA, his plays like ‘Bodas de Sangre’, ‘Yerma’ and the films made out of these by the flamenco dancer Antonio Gades, would provide a full understanding of what’s behind all this.
It’s a lullaby written by Paloma when her grandmother died. It’s a mother expressing how she always wants to protect her child even after her death; she wants to be buried in the moon, from where she will always watch over him every night, except one, on a new moon.
EAEA means many things colloquially, but in a lullaby and in Andalucía specially, it’s what’s used to calm a baby’s crying or put him to sleep.
She has an unquestionable fantastic voice; the song is risky, traditional, modern; it has quality (maybe too much for what Eurovision requires or is capable of appreciating), it’s passionate, raw, strong, whilst it exudes tenderness and overflows with feeling.
Whether you like it or not, one thing’s certain, no one will remain indifferent.
Very proud of Spain this year.
