Her voice is really a melodic musical instrument 😍
Truee
España victoriosa, es una nana por todos los que sufren, victimas , del odio,y catástrofes naturales,..la voz impresiona,y la puesta en es cena emociona
This song is a mother or a grandmother comforting a child. Blanca's grandma used to tell her stories and songs about death but in a cheerful way ("I'll be watching you from the moon") and that is part of our popular culture too. In that way, this song is also about female empowerment (the women chanting, summoning the female ancestors). Also, there are references to the elements in the works by Federico García Lorca (a Spanish poet assassinated by the fascists): the moon, the child, the women, etc. So there are many layers to this song. Thanks for your lovely reaction
Thank you!!

Spain 🕊️🕊️🇪🇸🥇🏆
Hola!
Gracias
Somos multiculturales.
Without words.... pure ART. ❤
Siiii
Her live performance is another level, perfection
Gracias, amigo
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's a kind of lullaby song, but its can be interpreting as a love song also !!
As a Spaniard I have to say that we cannot escape our Arab roots. Blanca Paloma takes a traditional lullaby to the TOP. She mixes culture, tradition and feeling in a staging that takes us to a feeling: everything is alive because when I look at the moon I always see you.
ARAB ROOTS ? IT WAS THE MOORS WHO INVADED SPAIN AND NOT THE ARABS. THE MOORS WERE NORTH AFRICAN BERBERS AND NOT ARABS. SPANISH ROOTS ARE NOT ARAB OR MOOR. MANY SPANIARDS, PARTICULARLY, FROM SOUTHERN SPAIN, MAY HAVE A MIXTURE OF MOORS IN THEIR DNA BUT THEY ARE NOT MOORS OR ARABS.
I love your reaction. That voice mesmerizes. This is art, class and good taste.
Thank you! 😊
The song itself (music, singing, clapping) is a bulería, kind of a specific 'subgenere' of flamenco with a modern twist of an electronic beat.
The topic and the lyrics come from the POV of a woman singing a lullaby, trying to put her crying baby to sleep ('Eaea' is a cooing sound in Spain)
The performance and staging are the ones of a ritual, summoning her ancestors. Specially her late grandma, wich this song is inspired by and dedicated to, because she taught and used to sing flamenco and lullabies to her.
The repetitive pattern of the beat, backing vocals and rythmic clapping are intended to be entrancing and hypnotizing for connecting with the energy of the experience. Her hand movements work as a praise and a calling to the above.
The red threads are a reference to the fringes of a traditional 'mantón' (shawl) simbolizing protection, motherhood, in fact she said it could be seen sort of womb-shaped. Actually she worked as a costume and stage set designer, as she did here too.
The white circle represents the moon, where, as the lyrics say, she wants to be buried in when she dies, so she will be able to watch over her child everynight but one ('newmoon')
First she kneels looking up, later she kneels again looking downwards, always with a reaching hand.
Then she shoots a flaming arrow and lights it on fire (red pulsing light, heartbeat, blood, death) Finally the priestess gets on the shrine to end the ritual in ecstasy.
Wow thank u for info
Here you will find a complete explanation in English of the spanish song, translation of the lyrics, staging and history. ua-cam.com/video/1NL_n_RCNbs/v-deo.html
Jackie . AAAHHH Y RECORDAD QUE ESTE AÑO SE PUEDE VOTAR DESDE TODOS LOS PAISES DEL MUNDO, NO SOLO DE LOS PAISES PARTICIPANTES DE EUROPA. ASI QUE YA SABEIS . ¡A VOTAR POR ELLA EEHH! 😀
AHHH AND REMEMBER THAT THIS YEAR YOU CAN VOTE FROM ALL THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD, NOT ONLY FROM THE PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES OF EUROPE. SO YOU KNOW. TO VOTE FOR HER EEHH! 😀
Arabs have been in Spain 800 years particularly Andalusia region - this is a lullaby hence hypnotic
"arabic vibes" bro..... do u know about Al-Andalus? hahahha we have a lot of arabic past!
I didn't know this
I'm not an expert but I've heard flamenco was highly influenced by gypsies. It gives me old Rosalia's songs' vibes. More countries should include at least a small fragment written in the native language of the country to present the culture, especially when it comes to Eurovision.
Sorry, my English is rusty
Yee I think they should do that too
yeah, this is typical spanish music :)
arab + european = spain culture
NO. IT'S GYPSY MUSIC. GYPSIES ORIGINATED IN INDIA.
