Douze points from UK x
Winner alert… no doubt. It smells pure art in every single corner.
I think this is very artistic and a solid candidate for Eurovision.
Very, very impressive entry. Only 🇪🇸Spain can produce this kind of sensations. This is a piece of art: the overwhelming staging, the camera work, the choreography and the chorus of voices, the psychology of colours, the mysterious atmosphere, her amazing voice. Traditional and modern at the same time. This is so different, so unique, so hypnotic, powerful and insanely intense, that looks to me like a very serious contender for the next ESC. For the second year in a row, well done Spain!!

"For the second year in a row, well done Spain!!" The Benidorm Fest or song contest is getting its results choosing the best.
Spain did it again after last year representative Chanel and her song Slo Mo. I really want Spain to win Eurovision Song Contest this year 2023. This song is so beautiful, very ethnic, traditional and cultural. 12 points from France to Spain

You go Spain, you did amazing by choosing this beauty of performance,,, lovvvveeeee Blanca Paloma
If you wanna know a bit more of the context for the song, here's my take as a Spaniard:
eaea is like the I guess "standard cooing noise" parents sing to babies in spanish. This in particular is a flamenco lullaby, and it's inspired by the songs Blanca's late grandma, who was from Andalusia (one of the Spanish regions where Flamenco is from, although it's played in other places too) used to sing for her. It's also full of symbolism; the song talks about death in a bit of a haunting and direct way, which is actually very common for flamenco (topics such as death, grief, passion, romance, adultery or eloping, etc. are frequent, even for lullabies sometimes).
The red strings are reminiscent of the strings of traditional flamenco "mantoncillo" (a type of shawl), and red also represents blood.
The white represents the moon (the lyrics go something like "my child when I die may I be buried upon the moon so that I can observe you all nights except for one", indicating the new moon or death).
The usage of moon/white and red/blood symbolism is deeply inspired by the work of Lorca, considered to be one of (if not THE) most representative writers in XXth century Spain. When I watched her performance I immediately thought of his play "Bodas de sangre" (translated as "Blood wedding" in English).
The haunting/otherworldly atmosphere is rooted in flamenco, as that is often the "vibe" of the genre, but it's also artistically used to convey the feeling that one may be calling upon the dead. When she's singing looking up into the camera, with the white/moon below her, she's talking to her late grandma from within the shawl - symbolizing the intimacy of mothers/grandmas singing to their children, as if she's "safe" within her hold like a kid once again, as if she's reaching up to her. With the birds eye of the camera, the strings start looking like the iris of an eye, which implies she and her female dancers/singers have reached her grandma, ans so she's looking back at her.
You may think I'm looking too deep into things but trust me, while it may be somewhat subtle, the Lorca symbolism is clearly deliberate and all of my Spanish friends immediately picked up on it, as they did with the mantoncillo thing. As for the rest... Blanca's job is literally stage design! Every detail is carefully planned, she's talked about some of this during interviews!
But I'm glad her performance was powerful enough that even without knowing the context it was enjoyable :D
I'll be voting from pt, for sure!
Ooooh, thank you

The song is a lullaby.
This song is a " una Nana", the song that mothers and grandnothers sing to children when they go to bed for sleep!

Yassssss 💃🏽
The song is a lullaby and it goes like:
Hush, ea
Hush, ea
(Ole)
Ay, come to me, my child (now)
Ay, come to me, my child
Sleep by my side
For in my chest there's shelter
Shelter for your sorrows
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
Every night but one.
(Ole)
Ay, come to me, my child (ay, my child, my little thing)
My lovely little thing
For in the night they light me
Your eyes like suns
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
So every night I can see you
My child, when I die
May they bury me in the moon
So every night I can see you
Every night but one.
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Little Nile's tears, sleepless nights
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaea, hush, eaea
Hush, eaca, hush, eaea

The "every night but one" refers to the phase of the moon when it's not visible: the New Moon.
Spain can be a potential winner of Eurovision Song Contest this year 2023. They deserves it so much after so many years without winning since 1969. 12 points from France to Spain.

Eres un petardo integral 😂
I feel the Spanish culture in his music very ethnic and Mediterranean vibes. 12 points from France to Spain
The lyrics are actually an expression of a grandmother's deep and fierce kind of love for her grandchild, expressed in a very poetic way. Blanca Paloma wrote it herself in honour of her deceased grandmother and the lineage of women in her family. And yes the red curtain is inspired by the fringes of the red shawl her grandma used to wear (a traditional Spanish "mantón de manila") and the circle of white light on the floor is clearly the full moon as you will understand by the lyrics. Blanca Paloma worked as a stage designer before and designed the staging herself.
In the song, the grandmother is talking directly to the child and saying things like:
"Come to me, my child. come and sleep next to me, I'll keep you warm"
"My baby when I die may they bury me in the moon so every night I can see you"
"Come to me my child, my little one, my love... at night, your eyes like suns shine light on me".
It is a work of art made song! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
it reminds me in a way of Jamala actually (of course v different) but amazing vocal / control of stage / staging / electro folk jazz so we will see
❤️🙏
The theme is a flamenco lullaby. It makes me nostalgic because my grandmother used to sing to me when she was little. The "eaea" is what is said to small children to comfort them when they cry and to put them to sleep; In fact, the lyrics say : "Oh, come to me, my child, Sleep next to me, That there is a shelter on my chest, Little shelter for your sorrows."
EAEA is a flamenco lullaby. Éa éa is an onomatopoeia that Spanish mothers do to calm their children while they are crying. The song tells the story of a mother who wants to be buried in the moon when she dies to see her child every night except one (the new moon day). The red strings of the staging are very typical in the Spanish flamenco costumes. Also the song has references to the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca, one of the most important poets of Spain. This is the most Spanish entry we ever had and we are so proud of her
Spain TOP 3 in Liverpool.👑🇪🇸

oh yesss! this is stunning! Spain deserves to win esc 2023 with a song like this! such a powerfull and unique one. Eaea let's gooooo!!!
Benidorm Fest has done it again, giving you OPTIONS. Any one of the grand finalists would perform so well in Eurovision, but EAEA is the one that's most likely give Spain its long-awaited victory.
Thanks❤️❤️🇪🇦
A good Song. Very solid a great voice. The mix of modren and tradicional sound 💕💕

Of course it´s hypnotic: its a lullaby. The mother is singing to her beloved child, full of love and strength. Besides a perfect interpretation thereis a very emotional touching sound, thats why we all feel like crying.

This is like a flamenco electro pop lullaby
The song is a lullaby and it tell how the love between a grandmother and her grandson never ends even though grandma dies
WINNER vibe❤
I heard one of the composers said there will be a revamp to make it more likable for a wider audience with no loss of authenticity. I guess it will be for the grand final like last year and I think it's a strategy in the Spanish delegation in order to surprise in the final like Chanel did magically
"Eaea" means "there there", it's an electronic flamenco hypnotic lullaby
Great rection man! Here you’ve got the lyrics translated for your enjoy 😉 Cheers from Spain.
yeah, yeah yeah, yeah (hey)
Oh, come to me, my child (now)
Oh, come to me, my child
sleep next to me
That in my chest there is shelter
Little coat for your sorrow
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Tears of the Nile, sleepless nights
My child, when I die bury me in the moon
And every night I see you
And every night I see you
And every night I see you
Every night except one (hey)
Oh, come to me, my child
(oh, my child, my little one)
Little of my loves that in the night they illuminate me your sunny eyes Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Ya, eaea, ya, eaea
Tears of the Nile, sleepless nights
My child, when I die bury me in the moon

Spain alert winner ESC 2023
The song is a flamenco lullaby.
Thank you sir, Gracias!
Oleeeee , oleeeee, oleeeee.
It's about a woman who has lost (died) her kid and she wants to be buried when she dies in the moon to be able to see her kid every single night but one day when the moon is totally off from earth
From SloMo to this... I like both songs very much and I'm glad they are both poles apart in style. A very different Spanish entry but what a top vocal performance - such passion and power. Could, and should, do well in Liverpool.
3:16 & 4:34 It's a modernized flamenco lullaby and the key phrase is "my son, when I die I want to be buried in the Moon for me be able to see you every night, except one", being that exception the new Moon phase in which our satellite seems fadded not reflecting the Sun's light because Earth is in the middle.
2:15 Do you see someone in the Moon turning into an loving eye guarding the child? So simple but sublime!
Greetings from Spain.
Winner Alert my friends 💥💥
You finally sent something good , after so so many years Lol
Just a quick translation of the chorus part: 'my kid, when I die, have me buried in the moon, so I see you every night (x3), everynight but one'. This is why we have this part of she in the middle of a white circle, being buried in the moon far away of her kid.
Thank you very much. 💃👏👏👏
Thank you very much from Spain, Madrid. Flamenco moderno.
from Spain...thanks thanks thanks ✨❤️
Finally(at least since televoting was introduced) Spain choose the best song.
She was also by faaaaaar the best last year in my opinion and I like that song a quite bit more than this one but this one is great too.
Spain had 2 very Spanish entries in the past that ended on different side of the scoreboard. 1983 they ended last with Turkey and in 1990 they came 5th. So this one here could be a black horse.
This song is a lullaby. "Ea" it's an Spanish interjection that, in the context of a lullaby, would translate into English as a soft "come on". Therefore, the literal translation into English of the title of this song would be: ComeonComeon (EaEa).
The song is a lullaby
I'm very proud❤🇪🇸

The concept is that he is singing a flamenco lullaby, in Spain it is called "nana". At the same time, it is a tribute to her grandmother Carmen who sang "lullabies" to her. The red threads represent Carmen's dress and uterus and the whole song is a ritual to bury ancestors
