Thank you sooooo much for this video. I just got a 98 Camaro Z28 6 speed and want to do exhaust, intake filter and a tune and call it good in the engine compartment (daily driver lol) and I’m so very particular with sound, but this is literally perfection, it’s a slice of heaven
Zillion3170 installed it already, love how it sounds only one problem with it is the clearance of the pipe off the long tubes sits pretty low if your car is lowered you will for sure have to get it modified others than that it’s pretty simple to install and sounds great, check out how it sounds on my Instagram @Boostedturtles
i have texas speed true duals that go out the back and im thinking to switching to these they seem to tuck up better texas speed hang so low it scraps all the time and i hate it. texas speed dont even sell them anymore
That sounds so much deeper then any fatback traditional system sounds. I swear I am going to have to send my car down to TX to have a TD system installed. Everywhere I went to here in my state IN . I was either turned away or wanted 2x the cost of the TSP TD system I had bought . One person attempted but couldn’t get it to work with my spohn adj trq arm and DS safety loop. Nice video ❤
old skool guys used to take a ball pein hammer and give it a dent where it contacted to keep from cutting on the frames...didnt have k members back then....I asked will that not mess up the flow and was told it was just one pipe and they didnt do enuff damage to notice...jus sayin
The drivers side pipe over the axel looks really close to the gas tank. Does it rub or touch the gas tank, I also noticed you removed the heat shield too.
Is it really loud at idle, part throttle & WOT and is there any drone while cruising at 2000 - 3000 rpm? I have heard of some people swapping to Magnaflow bullet mufflers to quiet it down some.
What do you think about the whole 3 inches is too big for the street? Cause I have a 480 horse 383 LT4 going into my 1997 Camaro and Hooker makes a true dual exhaust but it's 2.5 inches in diameter which supposedly can hang up to 520/530 horsepower. Then there's those that say you need a 3 inch exhaust for anything over 480/500. Just don't know. But my headers are only 2.5 inches so I might just stay into the 2.5 exhaust for ease of installation.
Go with the 3 inch true dual setup. I have the kit on my bolt on 98 Trans Am and love it. The sound is so much deeper than the previous y-pipe setup I had. My brother also has the 3 inch speed engineering kit on his 01 H/C LS1 Camaro. He picked up 19 rwhp over his Hooker catback. Plus, with a 3 inch kit you're also future proofing your car if you ever wanna boost it. Dual 3" exhaust can handle all the power you'll probably ever throw at it.
@@Bamabrute85 Well I forgot to tell you that I lowered my 97 Camaro 2 inches in the front and 1.8 inches in the rear. I had some 3 inch pipes laying around and mocked them up on the lift I have in the garage and once the car was back on the ground, The 3 inch pipes that I mocked up only gave me 2 inches of ground clearance so yeah maybe in future I might go for the 3 inch exhaust if I boost my 383 LT4 or spray it. But for now, I really like the Hooker True Dual Black Heart 2.5 inch exhaust system. Plus there mufflers are still straight through but tone down the loudness just a tiny bit more than those resonators you get from the SE and Kooks dual exhausts. Here's a quick video. I will be welding on slightly bigger exhaust tips cause they look just a shade too small. I think the 3.5 dual exhaust tips per side on your SE exhaust is perfect.
@@Savineyard3 You made the right choice. 3" is way to big for a 345 cubic inch engine. Doesn't matter if it's cammed or boosted. 3" is going to cost HP and torque.
@@guntherferguson2369 Well I don't have a 345 LS1. I have a 383 LT4 with 329 horsepower on the dyno and probably a tad more with the aluminum flywheel once it's installed. I'm hoping for 460 at the wheels with the aluminum flywheel, carbon fiber driveshaft and 12 bolt rear. I already spent big money on the Hooker 2.5 inch true dual exhaust system to go with my Stainless works T304 Headers that I had ceramic coated cause I live near the ocean and there's a lot of salt in the air. The Hooker Blackheart True Dual exhaust system is 2.5 inches with a Xpipe and my engine builder said I'll be fine. Here's my Video. ua-cam.com/video/IeHc1ao6KmI/v-deo.html
Hey man quick question so I want to order this full exhaust also but I’m wondering if with this exhaust do you get a lot of exhaust smell inside the exhaust ?? Thanks man

I personally installed speed engineering long tubes on my 97 (lt1) ws6...cat delete..very nice system, did it in 2020 super happy with it
Thanks! Finishing my install tomorrow, this was a huge help man.
Nice video! Ijust bought an 01WS6 an wanted to know if this system gives the "drone" sound on he freeway? Thanks
This is an impressive kit for the price. Nice video bro.
Nice love how it sounds just got mine for my camaro
I'm thinking about ordering the same set up. Let me know how you like it. I've heard good things.

nice video, y'all are right down the road from me!
Sounds great! I ordered the axle dump version yesterday and am excited to hear what it sounds like
Video up on my channel! What a ripper
Wide Band clamps is the way to go for 0 leaks. If you just want to use a ratchet
Hey brother what is your wheel setup?
Awesome ordered my Longtubes and true dual setup today. Im using a MWC K member.
Why did GM Engineers design a 2 into 1 exhaust for 4th gen F-body? Was it to throttle back the hp to not out do the vette?
Never thought about that but it’s very likely.
It was an emissions thing, it limited exhaust flow so it could pass.
That car is perfect
wow man thats a real nice exhaust
Sick looking car, man.
Those clamps are worthless. I replaced them all with 3 inch band clamps. Got rid of a lot of exhaust leak.
Nice. Looks good, sounds good!
looks awesome but is there an actual benefit besides sound?
What's your opinion of the speed engineering true duals after 2 years of use? Looking to install on a 97 LS swap Camaro.

easy pop out
Engine masters actually did a test and it has to be like 90% closed off before it effects power.
Awesome looking trans am but it's still way to quit for me..where's the cam?
With any suggestion to me doing this on a completely stock car would you recommend anything?
How is the ground clearance with this system?

What headers work with that exhaust
good video, getting ready to put this on my Trans Am soon. 👍
Great video thanks..
what headers did this car have on it? any other mods other than that? stock cam?
any drone?
Is that a stock torque arm?
Any chance your exhaust is melting your gas tank ?
What kind of cam does it have ?
I'm curious to know what the engine specs were? Obviously, it has a cam, just wondering if you knew what mods were done beyond the exhaust?
What size wheels are those? Is you car lowered? If so by how much? I am going with a similar set up!
The the ecu throw a code after taking the cats out and plugging the o2’s back in without the cats ? Just wondering.
Yes it will throw a code will new a tune to get rid of it
