@@MatthewHyatt Yep. It's 2023. Every pedal company that's going as deep into emulation as UA is going has full midi functionality built into everything. Heck, Strymon was doing it like 12 years ago.

True. But as people have said, almost everyone else building pedals like this manages to include midi and often an app too. great sounding compressor pedal but a little blown away (and correct me if i'm mistaken here) there is no way to blend uncompressed signal into the compressed signal. surprising on such a high end unit.
There's a way now to use this pedal for dual mono where Comp 1 and Comp 2 are separated. You can then set Comp 2 to be incredibly light (or none at all?) and run dual mono out into a summing device or continue the dual signal path to two amps.
@@AndyDemos And here I thought that Vini was a major influence of yours since the day Gearmandude plugged in his coily cable and put on his snakeskin boots, especially considering the way you play with the edge of your thumbnail through tape echo. The Max is nothing like an SSL Fusion and LA2A’s and 1176’s are not popular choices for mastering applications. The other issue is the lack of decent GR metering for the whole ‘if you can hear it, it’s too much compression’ thing. Also consideration this is more or less UAD’s emulations in a pedal, would arguably make more sense to use those plugins rather than go through a piece of hardware to achieve the same thing and there’s a whole variety of emulations of famous bus compressors.
@@3rdStoreyChemist hi, I’m a FoH engineer and looking to give my mixes some analog warmth. I agree that the lack of metering is an issue. But if you could use the two compressors separately and its sounds good I really consider buying it.

The emulation of the 610 preamp on the Max seems to go quite far really quickly, great for guitar, but way too aggressive for other sources/roles and appears to lack other options. I really don't get why they went for those plastic knobs and the weird colour code. It seems like there is an other designer in charge of the new line.
Because UA can't play with high price marketing anymore due to Eventide h90. For the price of two one trick pony UA pedals, you can buy H90 with endless sound / routing options. (+ real professionals use h9 and h 90) That is why msrp of Golden series are $399 and new ones are $349.

The pre amp in this and the amp sims of the dream/Ruby are two different things. This gives saturation of a console pre amp. Not actual amplifier sounds.
