I want to get one but really had my sights set on an optical compressor...Broughton Omnicomp, Walrus Mira, Orange Kongpressor, and a few more......even the PRS Cries Mary. I'm guessing like all UA offerings, their MAX Compressor is going to way too expensive. If I wanted a quality compressor that offered the same "mutiple compressor types in one pedal", I would go for the Source Audio Atlas.
I hate that these rely on a smart phone app. Whose to say in 20 years time you will still be able to run the app. I want my gear to be future proofed, especially at this price.
5 years tops! I refuse to buy another pedal or amp reliant on apps!! I have two H9 pedals, and have problems with them all the time with the app! I have a little Marshall 100w head, that never locked into the app right, a couple of Line 6 Amplifi amps that have been relegated to Bluetooth speakers because the app no longer works?!
I have other UAFX pedals and they don’t ‘rely’ on the apps. You can totally forget the apps. On the apps you have presets for artist sounds which you can load onto your pedal - but you can make these yourself by ear all day if you have the time to sit there and make it up. The pedal functions completely without the app, the app is for just having more sound settings at the flip of the switch.
Pete is such a brilliant player that he looks like he be doing these shows while half asleep or about bored to death and dreaming about something else, and the Captain, even tho he always makes sure the spotlight is shining on everyone else, is himself an absolutely killer blues-rock guitar player. Some of his upper registry solos are otherworldly. They can make you see black light posters and smell incense burning. I'm from that era and culture and I enjoy musicians who can take three notes and say more than a shredder can say with a thousand. Pete's really, really good but he can't make us see those black light posters or smell that East Indian Frankincense burning.
You should make a video of how you think through dialing in an amp. Could walk through how you think of it through 3 main amp types. I love the V40 sound you guys get and would love to hear how you think about it
It’s simpler than you think… everything’s on 12 😂. It’s kind of our definition of a good amp. If you plug in with everything on 12 & it sounds great, then we like it. We might tweak things a tiny bit to compensate for different guitars but on the whole the settings stay pretty flat
I'm currently building a 3 pedal board for jams/open mics and for chucking in a gig bag or a backpack and the galaxy is going straight on, especially as you can independently control delay/reverb. Sounds absolutely awesome plus top mounted jacks is 👌
I found the UAFX APP to be a bit glitchy. It doesn't always connect to the pedals. Then you have to start faffing about with the back of the pedal. I'm not sure you could rely upon the APP for a live performance imo.
Long time fan of the show here. (I'm sure everyone is though)... Any way that you guys could do a shootout between the UA Max compressor and the Origin Effects Cali76 Stacked edition, since nobody else will. I wanna see an A/B comparison. The UA is clearly more versatile (minus the thru control option from the Stacked edition), but which one SOUNDS best? 😅 PETE, I know you have a stacked edition, how does the UA Max compare???
May I suggest that if UA were ever to commit to doing a 'Dane' pedal, it be called the 'Double Entendre' and that it be Chocolate coloured with Purple knobs?
A warning about UAFX pedals. I have a Del-Verb, and when I ran the firmware update that UA recommends, it bricked the pedal. Because UA’s warranty is so short and so restrictive by comparison to other pedal manufacturers, my only option to have it fixed was to pay almost as much as a brand new Del-Verb would cost. It’s quite possibly the worst experience I’ve had with any company, ever… and a bit of Google searching indicated to me that others have had similar experiences with UAFX pedals. So, be aware of the risks with UA, and consider whether or not it’s worth it - especially when you have options with great companies like Strymon and Source Audio and Walrus Audio and Boss who stand behind their products and provide amazing customer service. This is a warning I hate to see other musicians end up like I did with a $350 UA paperweight.
No Midi isn't necessarily a dealbreaker, but they don't even give you the ability to have multiple presets on one footswitch, or even an aux switch. All of the UA pedals can do a lot but only have two sounds built in, live and preset. I suppose if you only use two sounds in a live situation it can work.
anyone heard that the del- verb will get an update so that you can leave on the reverb when you turn off the delay? I read that somewhere but can't find it again

Looks like all the pedals are powered by a Fender "Engine Room" pedal power. I'm thinking of getting one for my UAFX pedals as well. Anyone who know whether this is a good or bad idea?
Add in an xlr input and take my money! It’s the same with the fender amp sim where there is no headphone input. Uad never goes the extra mile , how frustrating !!!
Same situation, waiting for my Cloudburst to be shipped i was near to cancel the order but in the end i think the Cloudburst is so unique to play a game apart
I just got the Del-Verb and the only problem that I have is that without a smart phone you can't control it! I will try a tablet and see it will work, but a Windows app would have been nice!🤔
I keep hoping they will make a pedal that can run UAD plugins that we already own. Let's see if they do something or Nureal will finally get their plug-in dev completed.
All these UA pedals are just top of the tree good. It's a big miss not to include midi in my opinion but maybe it's just a firmware update they can add via Bluetooth or usb. So maybe they're going to bring out a dedicated midi controller, who knows. I'd probably change my collider for the del-verb if they did that as I much prefer the usability

The UA Ox Box is for attenuating (making quieter) amps. Both of those amps that you listed should be able to get pretty quiet, and still sound really good. In fact, for recording, I know the Katana 100 has a really great line-out output on the back. If you don’t have an interface, you can also plug the amp into your computer with a USB cable and record it that way. Hope this helps!

These are undoubtedly great pedals. Great algorithm and nice build quality on the hardware, but at this price point who are they for? For the same price you can get A Plethora X3, or for 100 more you can get the HX Stomp, much more versatile and in a live setting more than good enough. So paying 350 for a single effect just doesn't seem to make sense there. And I certainly wouldn't be using them in the studio, cause they're digital anyway, in that setting I'd just use a plugin that is cheaper, and can take advantage of the processing power of a computer to be more in depth and have finer control.
