  • You always have to build different things on a farm or homestead. Sheds, barns, chicken coops or maybe even a guest house.
    Homesteaders and farmers need low budget and high quality tools and machines.
    In this video we are demonstrating a machine in our workshop that has served us well over the past 13 years. It is a planer / moulder. We have milled a lot of lumber over the years with our woodmizer band sawmill. This machine has enabled us to turn those board into a wonderful finished product. Paneling, framing lumber, base boards... You name it.
    With $10.000 this machine comes with a much smaller price tag than professional machines used in the industry today.
    Adjusting the machine takes about 30 minutes which is also faster than most other machines.
    With a maximum speed of 12 meters / minute you can truly push the limits on producing planed lumber at a high rate. The max dimensions for 4 side planing are 260mm x 100mm. The total max width you can plane is 410mm.
    Excerpt from Logosl website:
    PH260
    The pro machine which can stand continuous industrial use. Producing panelling and mouldings from sawn lumber is a simple and profitable way to refine wood. Logosol PH260 planes and moulds four sides at once. You can quickly and easily produce all imaginable standard and custom-made mouldings.

    No need for any apologies over your English...you actually speak better English than alot of Americans. Really love your homesteading vids...great family too.

    "NOT HAPPY!" I love that part. A real German Machinist is never happy until the test block is measured twice. Even then they tend to remain skeptical thru the entire run. That is the sign of a Master. I enjoy these videos.

    Beautiful Machines, beautiful shop. Those are thick floor boards, quality lumber. Very expensive to buy pine flooring like that in the USA. You are lucky to have your dad around, best thing in the world. Family. Great Video. Thanks for sharing. Vinny

    Your English is admirable...I would call the part that moves it through the 'feed'. The gaps on the bottom are grooves..

      Swedish Homestead the groves on the bottom are relief cuts, or at least that's what many people have referred to them as to relieve tension in the wood and prevent warping.

    A suggestion to prevent rust on the feed table, spacers and cutters, dampen a cloth with Ballistol and wipe down the surfaces when the job is done and the pieces are placed on the storage board. Keep the clothe in a sealed metal tin between uses.

    You do very well in speaking. Its very good to see you and your dad working together side by side. Do you all make furniture to sale? That would bring you another income in as well. That machine is a good item to have around for lots of things you need. Great video. God bless you all.

      Det är ju där den gör nytta ! ;-) En fråga: Har ni någon virkestork eller hur får ni ert sågade virke snickeritorrt?

    • @simeonandalex
      @simeonandalex  7 років тому

      Det är det som vi saknar... tyvärr. Vi hade behövt den många gånger. Men det finns nära framtidsplaner på att bygga en...
      Vi har lämnat virke till en bekant som har virkestork förut. Mindre bitar lägger vi i snickeriet och låter de torka där.

    • @polwackt
      @polwackt 7 років тому

      Ja jag har samma problem. Det är svårt att få till torrt virke till snickerier. Ser fram emot att se ett ev. torkbygge.
