this is a very good street photography camera. when my trip's main purpose is not to take photos, i usually go with this camera. I can enjoying street, shopping and night market's relaxing strolling while knowing i have a camera with much better quality and control than a handphone at my disposal. if my trip is with the sole intention of taking photos than i use my A7III.

Wow! This camera is so badass! And your review was great too! Straight to the point, no bullshit. One thing that concerns me is the focus. Is it possible to control it manually? Also, for me this camera's image looks better than the FZ300's lol

No, video is full auto on this camera, I mentioned that in my review
As mentioned here, be aware that this camera has two shutters... Hybrid till 1/500 and than just electronic. Electronic shutter means lower data flow. In raw you will have like 1 evf less data for shadow recovery (and rolling shutter, in reality not so bad at all) - > just 10 bit raw, hybrid shutter has 12 bit raw. The biggest downsite is that due to the missing full mechanical shutter you can use manual lenses just with eshutter. I have gf7 and it is great hiking/ city trip camera (small camera means no unwanted attention). Fits very good with pan 25 1.7, pan 12-60.

What about the 5min 4k video limit? Is there any way to hack it? Since my Lumix Lx15 is dead I was interested in buying a gx800 but I want to be able to shoot 4K for at least 30min. So, I'm thinking of getting an Lx100 instead... Thanks
This was my first camera and it really is amazing. Still holds up so well! But having no microphone input is a shame. You can sync audio but I am not a fan of this workflow.

No, when starting video, camera ignores your aperture setting and goes full auto.
Can the Lumx GF series HDMI output give video signal to the capture card to act as webcam for zoom call and streaming?

I really like this small camera but the GX85 (US) two lens kit is cheaper than this camera and is more capable (ibis, more controls, ect). Still would like to have one someday.

Trazim malu kameru za slikanje i snimanje videa. Ne mogu odluciti jel da uzmem M100 ili ovu. Fuji AX5 je ispala jer ima los autofokus. Sto bi ti preporucio?
M100 ima bolji fokus za video, ali nema 4K i jako je spetljan ako treba raditi izvan automatskog moda - sve ide preko toucha. Meni osobno je Panasonic drazi.

Why cant i turn on The flash??
I had the GF7 with horrible image quality with the electronic shutter which kicks in automatically on 1/500s and shorter shutter speeds. You can not switch it off. Dynamic range is greatly reduced and shadow lifting in post reveals horrible noise pattern.

4:42 does the flicker reduction trick in the menu work to keep the shutter speed fixed? Also, is there noticeable aperture stepping in auto-exposure?
Never noticed aperture stepping in any samples, not sure about the shutter (camera does not indicate shutter value during video recording)

I tried the GX800 but couldn't hande the tiny size with no grip.
I've seen in ad that you can adjust focus in post. That's a weird feature I'd like to know a little more about)

No, video uses full auto exposure and there is no way around it, at least with current firmware.

Anyone here know hot to set the iso in video mode? In manual mode I've set it to 400, and max iso limit 400, but it keeps auto (goin up till 3200)
You can't. Video mode is full auto only on this camera, manual mode on mode dial affects only still images.
Does it have a picture profile settings?
It has Photo Style, if using latest version of the camera (GX880 in Europe) it has Standard, Vivid, Natural, Monochrome, L. Mono, Scenery and Portrait. It doesn't have Custom settings modes like some of the larger cameras.

Good vid, but that peachy like colour is an eyesore. It must look better in real life.
Its actually tan, it’s more of darker vintage tan shade and is very nice in person. It does come in black & black/silver but I think they’re boring compared to this one haha. Nice to spice it up.
My only real complaint about this rather small camera is that it is too big! I picked up one of these as a potential upgrade to a GM1 as my pocket camera. Advantage GX850: usable control wheel, faster burst rate and deeper buffer, tilting screen, slightly better IQ (and jpegs), 4k video recording. Advantage GM1: significantly smaller, slightly lighter, better build quality (metal top and bottom plate and dials), AFS/AFC/MF switch, movie option on control dial, slightly faster startup. The control wheel on the GX850 is probably the main reason I will keep it over the GM1, and learn to live with the larger size.
I'll stay with the GM1 for the smallest camera. And it's handsome, rugged and very usable still too.
i am also considering if i should buy GF10K to replace my GM1. I still love my GM1 but the only downside is there is no LCD to tilt it to face myself for selfie shot. Do you still think it's worth replacing GM1 with this camera? 🤔
