One of your best organizing videos yet!! "Clutter is a delayed decision"...spoke volumes to me. I have implemented the 15 minute rule in 2016, and it looks like it is going to take me all of 2017 to get everything done...but I am happy with the progress I have made thus far. I hope 2017 brings you everything your heart desires!!

I thought that too (re: clutter is a delayed decision) - I think I have a LOT of delayed decisions because I have a LOT of clutter 😭

Some very sensible, but easily overlooked, advice here. I've already followed one step, and decluttered my laundry room/meter cupboard, taking out a broken shopping trolley (the kind you expect old ladies to use!), and adding in a laundry organiser. It was an easy win, but an incredibly effective one - I keep going back in there, just to admire how neat it now looks!!
Organized vs Tidy? I had thought of them as the same. That tip alone is worth so much for me!. Thanks you!!
I would love to see your ideas on organizing photos. I have so many and no matter how hard I try, I never really feel like my "system" works.

hello Kathryn im so happy that you exist,i learn so much from you and i try to make my home ( even if i live in a rent house ) happy and organize,i try to make simple things that work in my space. Im a wife,mom of 8 year old girl and a singer and i tried to make my life easy,then i discover you on youtube and your videos helped me so much. During 2016 I went thru every single thing in my home. It's all organized, we donated so much of what we got rid of, and every room is clean and organized. My home was fantastic for the family I had staying with us for 5 days, plus a friend that came over for festivities during that time.....so clean....so organized ! I LOVE how it feels. Now I can focus on doing little projects to get my home ready for sale in the Fall. Thank you, Kathryn for your inspiring videos. I always look forward to them :) Happy New Year !

I've done some great organzing/decluttering since I've started watching your channel, it feels so good to get rid of everything!
I have been trying slowly since last year to organize and decluter my home, i started this year organizing my clothes, putting some to give away to the good will and getting rid off the rest. thanks to all your videos, I plan on helping my parents get their house in order. my mom used to be organized, neat, and on top of everything, but she somehow fell off of that and now with your help we'll get her space back in order! thank you so much for doing what you do.
I just organized my kids' room yesterday. I took four bags to donate, I cleared out toys they didn't play with, clothes and shoes that didn't fit them, and even furniture pieces. I feel so much better and organized. Tomorrow I will be working on my desk at home. I have piles of paid bills mixed with to be paid, mixed with other things. Your videos inspire me, thank you so much!

Maybe in the future you could do a video like this but for people who might have like depression or ADHD and therefore have a hard time finding motivation, energy, or the attention to start organizing? Or one for people who have tiny houses and don't have space for labeled baskets -- though I know you've done small space organizing! I think it'd be good to cover though since motivation is a big obstacle.

hi. i read at least 40 books of Japanese art of decluttering and organization. Finally i take out all organisation bins, baskets and trays etc as i found out without them i m able to maintain clutter easily. I am really glad to see you managed to organise your home so nicely and well with bins and other tools. Great video and direct to the point !!

I love all your videos. I come from a messy family and had to learn to clean, organize after getting married. I used to dread my in-laws visits. Then I found you. Honestly it took me about a year to get a hang of managing an organized home but I don't dread my in-laws visits anymore. Thank you Kathryn :)

Great ideas as usual. I've had family in town for two weeks and just left today, once I get my house back in order I need to implement some of these, especially with my kids stuff. Delayed decisions sums up my life. I have bags of clothes still sitting in my room from after Christmas shopping because I didn't put them away immediately.
Your use of clean up baskets was one of the best ideas I implemented in 2016. Thank you for being part of a fantastic year of organizing. My home and work spaces are dramatically improved because of your inspiring videos. You are a true treasure.

+DoItOnaDime i love Tour videos specially those when you organize and get some dollar tree baskets and buckets and turn them into a "help to keep everything in 1 place" ...ORGANIZATION...
í used to be organized but 2 years ago í bought my house and í started piling up everything 😢 í have clutter everywhere but you videos are always inspiration í started changing stuff and trying to organized...
but there is one thing í don't know how to deal with and is Papers 😬 í feel overwhelmed by mail and for some reason í Don't understand í do what you said on the video í leave it in the counter because í don't what to do with it. í know í just need to throw away the stores ad and credit cards promotions blah bla bla
but even when í do that there is always a huge amount of letters that í don't know how to sort or put away.. so know í have a post office 📪 at home.........
do you happen to have a video on how to deal with a situation like mine???😒
if you don't please give me an advice cause í feel im drowning 📨📚📉🏊📕📑📂 in all my papers books, notebooks ect.. 🙏 & a Prayer would work too 😇
í create a small office/craft area in one of the Rooms but i still feel í have more stuff that í can fit in there..

What if you took 15 min a day 5 days a week to go through the mail. The new mail do right away and system take care right away, another take care of later and another file.

love it! you inspire me and have given me so many great ideas. i'm a clutter bug, i have things that i had when i was a kid. i have gotten rid of so much stuff and continue to do so. it's funny because my personality is to have a very clean and minimalist way of life or i go nuts so all of my collecting and "stuff" makes me crazy!! it just doesn't work for me anymore. you've really helped me and i so appreciate you being here. i'm gonna get there!!! thanks!

This was fantastically helpful! The "tidy basket" = LOVE! I never even thought of this!
We just welcomed our third child and first son, Owen Wayne in November. We now have 3 kids. A 4 year old, 2 year old and newborn. Since we (hubs and I) are now outnumbered..I need to get organized and that's hard to do since I'm already so unorganized. This video was a nice overall guide in helping with organization. Makes me want to run out and buy a bunch of baskets and labels!
