- In this video I show each of the new science weapons added into The Outer Worlds. These mark some of the most rare and unique weapon in the game. Here I go over the location of each science weapon, but also the lore behind it. The science weapons overall are some of the best weapons in The Outer Worlds.

Fun fact for those who don't know; The Mandibular Rearranger was actually a bug Obsidian thought was funny so they turned it into a science weapon.
For those wanting source, it was mentioned during one of the gameplay showcases (I believe)
They should have called it the ugly stick lol

I have found the most effective way to use Science Weapons is to give them to Companions. That way they are using the effect to entertain you while you do the actual heavy lifting.
Just started this game tonight. I love it that when you get in Edgewater there’s that sort of western guitar music playing like a nod to New Vegas. Kinda made me wanna break out NV and have another go at it 👍🏻😂
That hammer is broken with a melee build nothing survives a 10k shockwave
I think the prismatic hammer is the quickest one if you are following the story line

Was wondering why my quest marker kept pointing to Gladys. Figured I wasn't far enough in the story for her to sell it to me. Makes sense now.

I have one question for this game. I know that new game + doesn’t exist BUT can I play after beating the main story?
One of my biggest gripes with FO NV was that even after all the dlc you still couldn’t keep playing once you beat its main story.
Yes I understand we want closure and a real ending but I just want to play around in the world with my character.

Nicholas Conroy no, but a workaround I’ve found in games like this, namely kotor, is to do a save before the point of no return that locks off the rest of the game and forces you to do the end. This allows you to finish the game or go back to finish quests you didn’t finish yet, if you want.

why didnt you use malee after you shrunk the enemy?
I found that equipping a companion with the shrink ray was the most effective way to use it
I just finished my first time through the game and it was terrific. I was laughing more than I have in a long time, the graphics, the writing, everything was terrific. Granted I did not do every quest and at the end I was able to see how that effected the outcome, one was either bugged or I did not understand it. It said in the information to go and check on things in the kitchen but the green marker kept telling me to go out of the ship. So that quest ended up not working out. Bethesda should have not been so stupid and kept these folks on board as they are great at their jobs and know what they are doing, unlike so much if not all of Bethesda. They had 14 people on quality control alone and Bethesda seems to have zero, from all of the problems they have had and caused. I cannot wait to start my next play through.
Can't get the quest because I'm enemies with the faction and my oldest save is after I became enemies with them......hopefully I can hack the terminal once I max hacking

Nmm is no longer Supported. Vortex is the New thing. If you wanna use Nmm still, there is a community edition available
I actually found the mind control gun as my first science weapon.

easiest and quickiest is the shrink ray :P And its useful for big tough things

My favorite gun is Phin's Phorce
There is another pistol but you need a blueprint to give to a Scientist it’s not really Unique just sets target on fire damage is a ok
The Force ultimatum/ulti-nature isn’t a science weapon, it’s a set of unique energy pistols that have ricocheting rounds and a high fire rate
I’m so glad you have something other then horrible Fallout 76 news. Even Fallout 4 mods are getting old but that’s just my opinion. Love your content regardless and am looking foreword to the videos you make on this game

Nvm disregard this comment the guns just cool enough to maybe be a science weapon but it’s just unique Dude there’s anther science weapons at the rizzo’s town towards the back in front of the door that leads to the bridge there is a ladder that leads to a door that you have to hack/pick it’s supposedly also uses the Soda power just to be clear this building has no first floor it just has the one door on the second floor it’s kinda tricky that way it works a lot like the anti gravity gun but idk it’s different in the effect it’s almost like a constant explosion around the enemy you hit

Think they kinda missed the mark on at least a few of these science weapons. Some are completely useless, cool for the first 5 min but seeing as how they are supposed to be like the legendaries, they should be more powerful imo. Tho they are definitely unique, just not useful.

Hey JuiceHead theory for you, is The Outer Worlds an alternate future for the Fallout Universe? TOW refrenses several times a Grear War that devastated humanity at some point in the past, are they possibly referencing a non-MAD (Mutualy Assured Destruction) Fallout Great War.

Was actually thinking that the Science weapons were probably the one thing I was really disappointed in. Created a less combat focused character and was hoping these science weapons would help round out my character when bullets start flying. Other than the 2 -Handed hammer, each weapon felt a little meh and heavily CC focused (which in it self wouldn't be a bad thing, if you were building a super companion focused damage build).
Can you free roam at this game?

I'm left with one question? While they have a shrink ray why not a growth rate as well. It just makes sense to me.

tbh , i gave a thumbs down for the misleading title "new science weapon" , like there were the old science weapons... the game is 4 days old
For how hyped this game was, it really didn’t deliver, besides the rpg part of it, everything else was mediocre or bad.
So like the witcher 3 or every rpg 🤨...

I'm playing through it right now and it's MEH at best - thankfully it's $1 to play (rent) through the Microsoft store for a month; if I purchased this for $60 I would have been very upset with my purchase. Almost zero background lore, then you're thrown right into it.. but it all feels bland and contrived. Game definitely looks dated, and the story so far (about 10 hours in) is also very MEH.

It starts on a small world with a simple objective for 2hrs; Bland is just a poor descriptive word... just talk to ADA. Its in space with video game physics, that is the definition of contrived. At least you did not say it looked "mechanically and graphically outdated" since videos games don't have emotion and its the same engine as fortnight.... not the bleeding edge, but not the mess that is Creation Engine. Not saying its amazing, but all games are kinda over hyped. Its a product sold by a company that pays people praise it. Though judging based on your own misguided belief it was going to be everything "you" wanted, is just leading you to disappointment. Luckily the solution is simple, wear a bucket on your head and avoid all social contact till the game is released.
The game was a boring ripoff of other games. Not worth the money for a days worth of gameplay...
I guess Bethesda will keep their crown....
