The Lian Li LANCOOL 3 is a monster of a case that can fit the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 420 All-in-One CPU "AIO "Water Cooler! 😎 With a 10-year warranty, no worries about water and PC components mixing 🤣, By the way, it's highly recommended to install the m.2 drive in the first slot on the motherboard for some performance boost!

thanks for the feedback! also, good point on the M.2 slot, we did move the SSD after I read the motherboard instructions...they had a specific slot (M.2 like you said) for the intel V13 CPU, they recommended different SSD slots, M.1-4, for other CPUs like AMD, or other Intel versions.

Lian Li is a good brand of case. Loading the CPU is about the only place where things can go really badly. Well, unless you mix and match modular cables from another power supply that doesn't happen to use the same pinout at the power supply end. Don't ask..

thanks for the feedback! Yes, cables concerned me to. I do have a plug from the front case panel that i dont know about. I will add a question in part 2 about that plug.

When the title mentioned "CAD" I thought this guy was making a CAD PC case which would be awesome.

well, if people want one I can make it! Do you have recommended specs? Thanks for watching!

@@DragonflyEngineering Thanks for the reply! I would actually buy one if you guys ship to the UK!!! I would like it to be either a Mini ITX case or sort of a Mac mini / Intel NUC type formula as I am a mini PC type of guy. It would also be really cool if it somehow incorporated a glass or acrylic window on either the sides, top or bottom.

Nice to see a step by step build, with technical tidbits for the curious along the way. Could have gone a little less(and thinner layer) on the heatsink compound. Also glad that, you got that gigantic heatsink in one go👍(any repositioning will mess up the heatsink application and will introduce air bubbles). That computer, definitely needs a dedicated shop space, where the ambient is much cooler for optimal performance(any rise in temp, will throttle down performance). The GPU will definitely need to be liquid cooled, with its own pump and radiator. Eagerly looking forward, to see how the build turns out😊. Definitely a needed upgrade for complex CAD and mold flow analysis ❤👍.

thanks for the advice, yes, I do plan to pick a better spot than the last computer, dust accumulation is also a concern based on looking at my last ~7 year old computer. Any thoughts on an air filter scheme?

@@DragonflyEngineering If its going to be on open shop, would suggest running a large hepa purifier in the vicinity, with the output of the hepa purifier pointed towards the computer enclosure intake. Also could wire the purifier to turn on/off with computer, to reduce the filter load on the air purifier.
If its inside an air conditioned room, a small hepa unit running 24/7 should do it for dust control.

    Where's the build list buddy?

Personally I hate this CPU cooler, I have it in an old build and the installation is absolutely horrible, Noctua has it a lot more fool proof. Especially the wire to attach the fans is a complete tragedy and pretty much destroys the finning of the cooler.

thanks for the feedback, yes it was a bit clunky to install, and I had wire reach problems too. Thanks for watching!
