@@willnicholls5 check out his other videos about editing secrets. My fav is the subtitle vid because I use his technique every day. PewDiePie vid is also great
Thanks for your videos. I'm not native English speaker and sometimes It's frustrating to hear non recognizable fast speech with "blurred" pronunciation of some UA-camrs. You speak fast as well but your pronunciation and thoughts flow are amazing, I understand every single word and every single thought. Thanks for doing it for us, this world needs your knowledge.
Those are amazing tips, especially for someone just starting out. Another sneaky trick for editing music though is just to create a remix in adobe audition. Super easy and it makes the music sound amazing for the exact duration you need.
Great vid! Thanks! Love that reverb trick of yours. I am deeply ashamed and admit that I regularly fade out my music in the sequence. Do you like Shiba Inu or you just a Dogecoin fan?
Hey Ian! Great video once again! And yes, I’ve been subscribed since the early days of your channel. Instead of “slugs”, I do cuts on the audio layer and it is pretty much the same. Do you recommend this approach 🧐
Lmao just put animal crossing music, a subtitle with a specific font with an outline and colors that characterise the speakers and cut alot of parts and squeeze 1 hr of recording to 12-20 minutes
Do you have VST plugins installed on your computer? You can point Premiere to a file path in the preferences menu to unlock other plugins that aren't native to Premiere!
hey ian can you do a tutorial on import settings? like importing 4k footage and editing it lower and having it export higher? maybe that doesn’t even exist but i thought maybe it did
It sure is possible and very easy. The jist of it basically is to import your footage, and have Premiere run it on low preview, so your computer doesn't hang as much. Then when it comes time to export, just use the Max Bit Rate and it will export the full quality.
Question for professional editors: How much on average would you charge for video resizing for social media? Would you base it on the hourly rate or package the service if asked for specifically?
Thank you for the lesson! I feel like you zoomed in and out on your face a lot while you were talking. Would you mind sharing the reasoning behind it? I was thinking it was for emphasis but I wasn't sure.
with those specs, your video SHOULD NOT be lagging. I think it probably has to do with the video codec or you could be running low on storage. Remember to delete all the extra files Pr Pro creates, and view the video on low quality. That helps a lot.
I (personally) like slugs because it gives you a physical and visual representation on your timeline of shots and pacing etc. Even seeing the text change on screen is better than markers on a timeline that you never actually see on screen imo.
*Hey Dear I'm Creating a Horror Short Film But I'm in Doubt Because In that very Very Horrible Things So My Question Does UA-cam Have any Limit In Horrifying??*
Im guilty of using the fade on music. My editing software doesn’t have good audio tools. Im probably going to find a way to do it in some audio software.
I have already subscribed to your channel but if there is 1 more subscribe button then I will definitely subscribe to it. I never thought that the text layer can help to map the timeline, but now I will use it "slug method".

what I'm doing is adding markers instead of the slug you mentioned, but your tip seems helpful than markers
I like slugs / text blocks more than markers, way easier to manage and seem to be a bit more helpful... at least for me :)
I never always comment! After watching this tutorial I had to, because you asked for it! Man you are a genius! You are a life saver!
Thank you :)

May I ask why some 1080p videos when stacking two videos on top of each other lag in playback? (R9 5950X/ VGA 3060/ SSD M2 980Pro/ Ram 32G)
with those specs, your video SHOULD NOT be lagging. I think it probably has to do with the video codec or you could be running low on storage. Remember to delete all the extra files Pr Pro creates, and view the video on low quality. That helps a lot.
Ty for the tips, but I was thinking to get some presets to drag and drop in order to finish them fast. Sed Momento :(
I actually like to use markers to plan the edit. Is working with slugs better since you can replace the footage?
