There's a Hank 3. Later on from this video, Hank Jr and his son Hank 3 put out an Album called 3 Hanks. It's a gotta listen to for all Hank fans.
This song was not known for many years. When Hank Jr. discovered it he decided to sing along with his dad. He said that was the closest thing to singing with his father that he could do.
Great Reaction! I also love that smile, This won video of the year and well deserved. Hank Jr. has won 3 CMA video of the year awards including the very first. He is the MAN!
Hank Sr passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29, Hank Jr was 3-4. He didn't have time with his dad because he was constantly touring. Without touring for months and recording new music there was no radio play. This song was recorded by Hank Williams Sr but never released until 1988 when his son released the song. This was 3 years before Natalie Cole released Unforgettable singing along with her Dad.
The music industry didn't have videos yet , so artists were in a vicious cycle. Radio play, constant touring and recording new music for Sales. Just to do it again.
The ride -midnight in Montgomery - the ballad of hank Williams -famiky tradition the conversation are a few country hits that was about hank sr
If I recall, NC did hers as a tribute to NKC. What I liked about this one was how smooth both father and daughter's voices were. For Hank(s), both were classic C&W voices. The camera compositing used to make Jr. walk in front of the band and behind his dad was impressive for the time. I can't imagine what modern effects could do with it - or even if it should.
The original style of counry music
Music 🎶 is universal Love 💞
Or lack of 😢💔
Give Hank 3 a spin 🤔👍
Enjoy your Adventures ✌️🤠❤️
Hank Sr died when Jr was 3 as others here have said, and as he explains in the first verse of Man of Steel. You should do that one for sure, and The Blues Man. And anything else by Hank 😁
His dad died when he was 3 years old that's one of the greatest videos
That's the closest Hank Jr could ever get to singing with his daddy. And thanks to modern technology he was able to 🥺💔
wow... never saw this one...... total tearjerker
alot of native americans admired hank senior because he was half native american i remember growing up to his music still listen to him today
Liberty Hank Sr.. wote the best blues song ever "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"..Yes BLUES SONG and Keb Mo (the Artist) sings it so beautifully. It's the best blues song I have ever listen too. You should try to do a reaction to it, you will love it.
Thanks!
Great Reaction.......
I can thinki of 3 singers who did a "Duet" with their Father who had Past Away...... Natalie and Nat King Cole, Hank Sr and Jr, and I believe Lisa Marie Presley did several with Elvis Presley.....
There is a Hank 3.... country, rockabilly, and some metal. Try him out, he looks just like his grandaddy!
Hank 3 is one of my favorite outlaw country artists. I’ve seen him live. He did a two hour set of his country, then two more hours of his metal. Awesome show!
You have a great ability to make what you wear look great. I am sure the advice your mother told you was for other people. That way if you saw a red haired person wearing pink you could tell them. You are a pleasure to watch and thanks for being part of my day.
Thanks!
Would love to see you react to Hank Jr singing The Blues Man.
Outlaw women by Hank Williams Jr
That video of Hank Sr. was taken from one of his two appearances on TV in April of 1952. About 8 months before he passed. He was actually performing his hit song "Hey, Good Looking" in that performance, but they edited it for this music video.
Crazy to think he would've turned 100 last September. So there's theoretically a slim chance that he could've been alive today. Blew my mind when I first watched those raw videos of those performances a few years back. Because I mostly have only seen pictures of him my whole life.. Watching the raw performances made my perception of him become more alive, rather than just being a mythical type of perception.
That’s a steal guitar.
Do Hank senior "Hey good Looking". And Hank 3, "Cocaine Blues".
Hey thanks to the person who requested this video! Great reaction!
Pedal steel guitar is the instrument in question. Hank Williams Sr recorded the original over 70 years ago
Thanks!
That's not a pedal steel. That is just a steel. The pedal was added several years after Hank Sr and the Drifting Cowboys recorded the original soundtrack for this.
Please do Hank sr "luke the drifter" his psuedoname, I've just told mama goodbye. One of the saddest songs in history. Is so overlooked!!!!
Country & Western music
Lotsa Steel Guitar in it! 😎🤠
Thanks!

Pedal Steele guitar very common in traditional country music
This video came before Natalie Cole’s video, it’s where the idea came from
Hank Sr and Nat King Cole passed early. Hank sr was kust 29
Check out “Ballot of Hank Williams”
stay free belle rebel on
I think it's the steel guitar or the lap guitar? that makes that "island" sound? I may be wrong though🤷🤷♂🤷♀ You still need to do "All my rowdy friends are coming over tonight"..it may have your clutching your pearls. hahahhha
Thanks!
The instrument that you thought gave the song a "tropical" sound is a pedal steel guitar. It is, interestingly, characteristic of both Hawaiian music and country music.
Thanks!
This is country…
Yes, Nat was deceased when the "duet" was created.
Thanks!
Anybody that's a real Country Music fan knows that's a pedal steel guitar
Thanks!
That instrument that has that “twang” sound is called a “Steel Guitar” and
“Pedal Steel Guitar” was used for many years in Country Western music. It is sadly almost never heard anymore. They’re a very complicated instrument to play. They usually use both hands and both feet to play it. Here are some examples on UA-cam that will show you how they play the instrument. ua-cam.com/video/5YdHqxTcBfI/v-deo.html
Can you react to John Schneider " Wherever she is" ?
The instrument is a Steel Guitar.
Thanks!
Not a chance nothing like Elvis Presley, as you'll see shortly he's singing this with his Father, Hank Williams Sr, that instrument is a steel guitar
If this one got to you you're probably not ready for your cheating heart yet, I saw the Light, maybe
He never really got to know his dad since sr was 29 when he died
