    Its really sad to see the comments who are mostly glorifying this scene as something sublime, as some words of wisdom, of one of the most virtuous man ever to live. The contrary is the case. The point of this scene is to emphasize banality of evil man, whos primary motive for their uncounted crimes is simple hunger for power, the feeling of being superior. This can be easily seen in his comparison with god, he isnt just egoistical like most of todays people, he is also one with god complex, so his feelings of self importance are higher thus his ambitions are higher and so is his damage on society...

    • @fakt7814
      @fakt7814 6 років тому +22

      Will to power is the primary motive of everything that exists, no matter, is it alive or not. It's sad (especially for a leftists), but everything great that mankind ever done because people are egoistic, because some people thinks they're better than other. People like Phillip Price are much different from ordinary men, they are specimen of a different species. We can judge them like ordinary people, but it makes no sense. As Nietzsche said, "Egoism has as much value as the physiological value of he who possesses it." And if a man like Price can be powerful, then he (and his egoism) costs a lot in physiological way.

    After what Price said to Mr Robot in Season 3 - giving him advice on how to lead an army and a revolution, thus acknowledging Mr Robot's ability - I guess in this scene he already recognised the potential power of Elliot, which is why he says "Or two" (as we now know from season 3 that Price was fully aware of the hack and all the players involved from the start).
    "With the exception of one" obviously being Whiterose.
    Price recognises that Mr Robot could one day match either him or Whiterose.

    • @Batman1084CK
      @Batman1084CK 7 років тому +19

      I don't think it is exactly that, per say. A large portion of humanity strive to be "remembered" - and while calling himself a God is a stretch, people love being some type of benchmark for where others would look at that person in high regard for ages to come and to try to be that person - "the most important person in every room." The working hard bit is kind of implied, sure, but I think this is more of a commentary on society (especially in the financial world) and how shallow people as a whole are. We don't mind being pretty horrible so long as we are remembered when we die for achieving "great" things. We as a species are awfully vain even in death.

      The poster is in english called "The Humourous Map of Europe in 1914", it's in German and 1914 was the year where WW1 began. The map made by a German and shows Germanys views towards each of the countries in WW1. It depicts Germany attacking other countries like France with bees and missiles. Its a mix of reality and humor. It also depicts the Russian Revolution and the French asking the English for help. Pretty strong map which is both hysterical yet true.

      +gautam n I don't know if I'd say E Corp has done "nothing wrong." I think you're forgetting a main thread in Elliot/Angela/E Corp. storyline--you know, the one where its board made a decision not to shut a plant down despite knowledge that it was making employees sick because it would cost less to settle potential lawsuits than completely shut down an operating plant. It's the reason why Elliot's father and Angela's mom developed terminal cancer and died. That's a pretty egregious wrong on the part of E Corp.

    The desire for power is what drives every loser. Sure they get power because they do 'anything' necessary to achieve it. Philip Price could make a good Sith :) Sith are losers after all, we all know that :D
