How to use a Portable Twin Tub Semi Auto Washer and Panda Spinner: Detailed workflow and review

- Living in an apartment used to require paying for laundry in the building, but no more! Check out my Costway portable twin tub washing machine along with my Panda 3200 RPM laundry spinner. No water hookups? No problem! With a little bit of extra effort, I can do my laundry at home and save beaucoup dollars. I give both of these units top rating. Now if only somebody would create a twin tub washer with a Panda spinner...
Everyone's setup will be different depending on the layout of your space, but I hope that you can get a sense of how mine operates and figure out a solution for yourself. - Навчання та стиль
Best portable washer review I've seen by far, props
Thanks! There were some painful ones out there and I couldn't let it stand.

Definitely! If I didn't have these two machines already, I would buy one!
The rinse happens in the spinner.
The laundry soap in shampoo bottle is genius.
Just wanted to say, it is/ was extremely nice of you to answer so many questions.
I have Nerd Level Passion 😌
The real hero here is that Panda spinner. That thing is a beast! Clothes come out of the Panda about 95% dry. A must have if you're using a mini washer.
If I had a traditional dryer I would still use the spinner. The cut down on the time to dry is significant.
@@shangaosurprise I have a dryer, but I just got a Panda spinner yesterday. Love your clever apartment setup!
Ino. I was shocked by how pretty much bone dry the clothes are after coming out of the spinner after i used mine for the first time. I have this same model
I just received this washer machine as a mothers day gift, im loving this mini washer .
Excellent review I just received my portable washer today!! I can’t wait to use it!
How'd it work out? Any thoughts? Tips?
Simple but very efficient laundry set up. Thank you for sharing 🙂
Really great and scientific sounding description, I understand this product more now.
I just ordered one on eBay. Thank you for this video. Hoping you're all safe and healthy.
Great to hear! I trust you've made an informed decision.
Awesome review! Probably the best I've come across. I've been also using a portable machine for the last 5 months. I usually wash, spin 1 min, add spun clothes to fresh bucket of water, then spin again for another 4 mins and then finally let them air dry. I am always very paranoid about my clothes having soap in it even though I add very little soap. I am afraid to add fabric softener thinking it will not fully come out of the clothes. I'm gonna give it try!
It sounds like you have an outdoor space that you don't mind getting wet. I wish I had more space to move around and an extra pail of water to rinse clothes, but it would be too messy in my apartment. With fabric softener I dilute a small amount into a bucket and then rinse as normally. A little goes a long way. I also don't obsess about getting one hundred percent of the soap out of my clothes. For the amount of time, effort and water to give it a third or fourth rinse for that last trace amount of detergent, I don't think it's worth it. Happy washing!
Read my post on here for the correct spin side directions
I bought a Panda spinner for my hand-washables like my good shirts and blouses. I love it.
Wow this is such a good review and instructional video. I got mine today and might get the panda spinner now. Thanks!!
Thank you very much. I have well water which at times can get low. So the bucket idea was for me at least, a great help. Thanks again, stay well 👍
Good for you! No more having to get rolls of quarters, and sit in the laundromat only to have gas dryers burn your clothes. I just bought a Panda spinner after seeing videos, even though I have a conventional washer and sryer at home. I spin dry my expensive white dress shirts and hang them on hangers to dry. Also, spinning the other clothes means they take less time in the dryer, which saves $ on the electric bill and makes the clothes last longer.
That'll do it. I would be interested in seeing a video about how much less time it takes to dry your clothes when they've been spun in the panda spinner.
wow this is a really good review. thank you!
Thank you so much for explaining this in detail. I will now exactly how to use my newly used little washer/spinner combo but will be on the look out for a panda 😊 !:))
Very well done; I like your setup, too.
Best review i've seen. Really like the idea of the panda.
My twin tub just arrived this morning. For me, the spin speed in the dryer gets things dry enough. I have an LG washer/dryer combo (not the stacked unit, one that’s the size of a washing machine but does both) so I’m used to my clothes being a little damp at the end of a cycle. I’m waiting on my repair guy to get parts for the LG, but I’m really liking this twin tub for now.
Great to hear! Everybody has their own needs. For me, I was running an airbnb and so I needed the sheets to be dried really fast. This past year I've closed the business and so I haven't been using the panda as often. If I ever do get a dryer I will go back to using it because it will cut down on the energy consumption significantly. It's much more efficient to dry dew-damp clothing than it is damp clothing.
very nice .. looks like you've got your little system going ..
I have the spinner, it’s amazing had it for 13yrs
I absolutely HATE having to go to the laundromat. I also feel like a bum bringing my dirty undies with me to my girls or families whenever I visit. This machine is awesome and it washes nearly everything I need. It can handle my bedding too. Also, I am digging that big spinner you got there. I totally gotta get one of those!!!!!!
You bring your dirty clothes to your girlfriend's parents house that's screwed up..
@NietteR huh? No I used to wash them at my girls place or MY families place lol. Nothing wrong with that. Lots of people who don't have access to a washing machine do laundry where they can. If she lived with her family I am sure I could wash them there since we get along really well and help one another out. Doing laundry at someone's place isn't a strange thing. A lot of people in college or live places with no washer/dryer often do their laundry at their close family and close friends places. Not everyone is fortunate to have their own washing machines, and many apartments don't come with them.
@realretrorelapse definitely been there buddy no shame at least we hot clean clothes right lol
@@jaredbueno2846 hahaha absolutely! Speaking of, I am about to do some laundry on my little machine in a little bit here haha

I have a shower head on a hose. I actually purchased a longer hose so the head reaches my washer. No bucket needed as I can just put the shower head in until the washer tub is full. Easy peasy.
For those who feel like the labor is too involved, I personally have never done the spin before the rinse cycle. My laundry seems to rinse quite well without that step.
You’re right. It’s soooo worth not having to use the laundromat. I especially love the ability to do a tiny load.
I fixed that problem by putting the washer on my kitchen counter and filling it with the hand-held sink sprayer. Then, when done, it drains right into the sink. I also have the Nina Soft Spin dryer; it's excellent.
@Skunky Stinkerson Where can I find that RCA washer?
saw this vid on amazon, too. great review dude!
Great review! Thanks for video 👍🏻
I have one too and I love it. You should get lint catcher for the washer and while draining so your tub doesn't get clogged with lint.
You know what I never ever had a problem with lint clogging the tub.
Thank God for this video all my stuff is clean now
Great video! My apartment building’s laundry is $8 per wash&dry load! 😮 will be trying this!
Thanks so much I just bought the washer and spinner, have to get a 3 prong adapter. I’m so glad I bought this and was so glad it fitted in my bathroom space. I don’t understand why there was no Manuel. Really don’t need one. I was just wondering how much water to use, didn’t see a water line. You showed me. The laundry room in my building is a headache and takes $5 worth of quarters, no chair , had to take my own folding chair for the last month. I’m disabled and a senior, I have to use a bucket for water also.
The water line is the drain hole at the top. Just keep the hose in the down position and it won't overflow. I'm glad that it is working for your space!
After washing, you should add more water to the washer without detergent in order to rinse the detergent off. Then transfer it to the spinner.
That’s a good idea, just got mine today. I was wondering if that would work, I will set the washer for lest time when I rinse. Thanks!
It still leaves things with too many suds if you do it that way, so they’re never fully rinsed. Best course (and what’s recommended by the instructions) is to wash, spin, rinse (either in spin tub or xfer back to wash tub), then spin again.
@@HighFlyinAFGuyahhhh okay thanks!
Good review
thank you, this is super helpful!

Just ordered the spinner from Amazon...will save a ton of work and time
Does your dryer have a sensor? I'd be interested if you would report back how much faster it takes to dry your clothes if you happen to have some way of measuring it.
A tip from my mom that give to me if you want better result:
1. prewash your clothes with clean water first, this will remove most bigger dirt & grime, also allow salt from our sweat that caked on the fiber dissolved. all you had to do just put on wash tub and run for 2-3 min. My mom do this to every clothes & fabric, but to save water. start from cleanest clothes to the dirtier, so you don't need to refill the tub each load, just change the water if the water too cloudy.
2. before washing, especially for bed sheet & towels, soak the clothes first with detergent & water before washing, and you not need allot water, just make sure the clothes is soaked well & the water detergent is very soapy. With current detergent formulas, 5-15 minutes will just fine based on my experience (if really dirty & smelly, I soak for 1+ hours); but my mom soak it for over night in big buckets. after soaking, then you can do normal washing routine, and use new water & detergent, do not use the one we use for soaking. if you want, you can add oxyclean/sodium percabonate on water detergent mixture.
I did this and my clothes come out really clean. My mom also recommended to soak clothes with softener for few minutes before rinsing, allowing the fragrance seep deep to the fiber, but I not fond use softener due waxy feeling on certain fabric.
The spinner machines comes with a plastic, that is to cover the clothes. use it and dirty water change it for clean water
I bought a really big one 2.5 years ago and it's great. I can wash and spin a queen size comforter in it. The comforter barely fits in the spinner but it does. It has a pump to drain it though, not just a gravity drain. I bought a smaller washer because i really don't need one that huge. It's nice for my comforter, but i ended up buying a duvet cover so I do not have to wash it that often. So I figure i can wash the comforter in the laundry we have here at my apartments when necessary. I also have a very small electric dryer. It's about half the size of a regular dryer. But i usually just hang everything on a rack to dry it. My spinner actually works very well to extract the water but idk if it's because it's bigger. Im not sure what to expect from the smaller one i just bought. It hasn't arrived yet. I think it's about the size of yours.
Wow; which one is that; I might like to get one.
Yeah can you drop the name of the really big one that sounds like one I would want! And the duvet covers are a great idea because everyone is looking for ways to wash their comforters in portable washers. With duvets there's less trips to the laundromat and when you do it's not even heavy! Thanks for the tips!
Love your video!!!
Glad you liked it!!
With your setup, there is probably no need to drain the water after the first load (you could add a little more water and detergent if needed). Just put them in the "rinse spinner" and add more towels to the existing wash water. More efficient and you can keep it moving since both the spinner and wash side can work at the same time.
Yes, I've learned this. Of course, it depends on the water quality. Some items foul the water immediately and I won't reuse the water in that case.
If I do that my spinner fills up with soap
I now have this same washing center & I have a 3.75 electric panda dryer,so I got a 3 in 1
How many pounds of laundry can this one hold?
@@mariapenta2244 my panda spinner holds 22pounds of clothes
@@michellethomas1298 is it practically dry when you take it out of your panda?how many minutes do you leave it in there?
I had the space to dry clothes on the line, but if it were an issue I would definitely consider the portable panda dryer.
I got exactly what you got it works perfect I got the panda dryer needed it to lol
I absolutely loved your review of this! This was fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's a great idea and especially if you live in the apartment or a hotel room or something that washer and the spin dryer would come in handy because you wouldn't need a big washer and dryer if you have one bad boys right here that is a great idea
I would suggest that lugging it around into a hotel might be too much unless you were travelling by vehicle, in which case it makes perfect sense. A travelling salesman with this in her trunk would save loads of money on hotel laundry fees. You can even set it directly into the bathtub and the water flowing under it is safe due to the electrical components being raised several inches from the bottom. It is designed to sit on a wet surface with no danger.
You can get a dog washing hose that attaches to the faucet, then you wouldn’t have to use the bucket. I think the hoses are 10 or 15 feet long.
the problem with that is that it takes 10 times longer to fill up, however, it's a good solution for those who can't lift the buckets or don't care about the time.
Good idea! Thanks for the info!
You’re a genius!
I wish I'd known about this when I was paying $4 to do a load of laundry
You can buy a diverter for your shower and the hose hooks up perfectly and it has a switch to where you can switch for the water to come through your shower when you want to take a shower or push the button to switch the water to go into the machine and then you just leave it hooked up
I have this exact model. What i do is i leave the water in the washer side while I'm using the spinner. It keeps the spin dry from being off balance. I just got mine about 2 weeks ago i hope it lasts a while.
Super video,
Thanks
Purrrrrs like a kitten 😻
Yeah! Haha 😂
I have one it’s fantastic
It took me a while to get past the idea of not having a giant standard laundry machine but I'm glad I took the leap.
Great review. For $20, you might want to invest in a drying rack to hang your clothes on after they come out of the spin dryer. It is a simpler solution than hanging them on a line inside your home.
Great idea! Although having the large line is wonderful when you want to dry sheets. Have a great day.
Excellent
Hi great review, thanks! Update? Still good the washer? No issues? Has the motor blown out or Spinner stopped working? Thanks in advance!
Thanks shangao :)
Love it awesome
Try filling it by using an hand held shower and place the washer inside if the bath tub.. You can even place a rubber mat of some sort so that the washer doesn't make to much noise when spin drying.
You can do that, but the shower will fill very much more slowly than the bathtub faucet.
if you let the bottom get full of water it makes it easier to dry too
Getting a hand held shower head with extra long hose that's how I do mine.
Can you pls tell me about the depth & width of the portable washing machine?
You can also change the shower to a flexible 10ft shower hose that should reach your machine.
Yes numerous people have mentioned this. The problem is that the shower flow is extremely slow. But if somebody has difficulty lifting the buckets or if they don't mind how slow it is that is definitely an option.
I see, this is half the price of a fully automatic one... but wow, the mini, fully automatic one that rinses spins like a full dryer would save you so much time... and space, because you wouldn't need both of those units.
You can use the shower pipe, if you have that kind of shower.
Do theses work at all? Awesome review by the way! 🙂
Nice on black
I have a portable washers I use a shower hose and there spray hose's that hook to the the tub faucet hope this helps and make. Sure it's a long hose
Definitely if lifting the bucket is too much for your back or something then the shower hose makes a lot of sense however the rate of flow made it take four times longer to fill. But definitely a good plan for some people.
Thank you🥰
This is a very humble review. Great job. I loved it
You’re welcome 😊
Hello, thank you for the review. When and where do you add the fabric softener in this set up?
I rinse the spinner twice with fresh water. I give each rinse a minute or two to sink in. Then I pour in a diluted bottle of water and fabric softener over a spun load. I give it a minute or two to fully sink in and saturate the clothing and then spin it out until it is dry enough to transfer to the big spinner without making a mess.
@@shangaosurprisewash, drain the washer, fill with water and fabric softener, wash and drain again.
Is the drain nob timer supposed to move? Im trying to drain mine and it's not moving or draining, am I supposed to do something else???
This is a really great review because I was trying to decide if I need to get one of those 3200 RPM spinners as well as the washer that had a spinner. And I think that makes this whole thing so much easier. Thank you for your great video. Now, I need to know what type of washer/spinner do you use (on the right of the spinner)?
Search "Kuppet Twin Portable Washing Machine" or anything like it on Amazon. They're $129 right now-I just ordered one. Others in comments on other videos have said they were able to order them cheaper though on HomeDepot.com or Walmart.com, but online only-not in stores. Hope this helps!
J Coburn Thank you very much!
@@DeannaWalsh Do you have an update on how it all turned out?
@@jcoburn3590 I think Kuppet sells one that has a pump drain, and it’s not necessary to gravity drain it. I’ve heard pros and cons about that particular one, but it’s the one I was looking for. It’s the biggest one they have. You must go to their website so you can compare all of their models.
@@shangaosurprise I think my comment disappeared. So, I’ll explain one more time. I never got the twin tub washer. And, at some point I might get one. But I have limited space. However, I did get the panda 3200 RPM spin dryer and found it to be the best things that I ever bought in recent times for anything regarding laundry. I use it when I wash clothes in the bucket by hand and also after I wash my clothes in a portable washer that has a 800 RPM spinner. I still use the Panda 3200 RPM spin dryer as well. My clothes is spun out so well that my clothes can hang dry with a fan blowing on them in around an hour. And I also recommend it if you’re using an indoor portable dryer because it will cut your dry in time in half. I think I might actually get another one if I see the price is right. I noticed that at one time I saw that RCA came out with a 3200 RPM spin dryer, but it didn’t look like it would hold up as well as this one. Recently, I noticed that ninja also has come out with a 3200 RPM spinner. I might try that one out sometime. Would you please subscribe to my channel, because I am going to upload some laundry videos which will highlight the spin dryer. And also, I want to thank you for inspiring me. This is got to be one of the best videos I found and the most helpful. Thank you so much. UPDATE: I just added a video highlighting the Panda Spin Dryer on my channel. Also, I bought an insignia portable washer. Going to set up a video on that as well. That’s another story.
We have one , god sent
Do you ever get a mildewy smell from hanging your clothes, towels, etc indoors in the winter, also do you suspect that if you just used the spin dryer on the washing machine a few times that it can get as dry as with the panda spinner? Thanks.
The laundry is dew-dry afterwards. The spinner has a 5 minute timer after which it automatically shuts off and so it wouldn't be practical to continue to spin it, as well the instructions note that it shouldn't be used continuously because it will burn out the motor. There is also a limit to how much water that gravity can pull from the clothing. Finally, hanging it increases the surface area significantly. The clothing remains bunched up in the spinner which prevents it from drying effectively.
Just replace your shower head with a hand help shower head. It works just like a hose. I just put my hand held in the washer and turn it on and let it do the work just like a large washer. Tah dah!! No bucket mess.
I'm a little confused as to why there is an extra step? So wash, drain,RINSE IN THE SAME TUB, then spin dry. Unless you're wanting to do multiple loads at a time, the separate spinner inst needed.
The separate spinner is not necessarily needed, however it spins so well that it cuts down on the drying time significantly. It can also hold multiple loads and so if I have more than one on the go it allows me to speed things up.
Wish I wouldve seen this review video 100 videos ago lol
Lol 😂 I know right there's some really really bad videos out there. Bless their hearts.
There are faucet connectors you can get
I wound up getting a shower splitter with a dial so that I can switch between the shower head and sending water through a hose connection that reaches the machine. I'll make a video about it at some point in the future.
I Have a question I just bought the Portable Twin Washer can I use the spinner twice in instead, if i don't have the Panda? thank you for your video.
If you run the spinner twice, depending on the type of fabric you have in there, it won't make a difference in the amount of water coming out. The Panda extracts more water because of it's speed.
Water is supposed to be over the top of your clothes that you have in the washer The clothes should never be sticking out the top,
How much water? How much wattage? What is the rpm on the wash machine spinner?
This was very informative
Is there a rule of thumb of how much water to put
Between the two tubs there is an emergency overflow. I just filled it up high enough so that when the spinner was activated it would barely flow over in order to minimize water waste. So just fill it as high as possible if you have a full load until you hear the water start to pour between the tubs.
@@shangaosurprise that makes alot of sense, woah didn't think I'd get a reply . Thankyou and God bless
Very helpful. I see you have another portable washer there (blue). How was that one?
It was missing the spin function which is important for transferring clothes to the big spinner. They leak and make a huge mess.
@@shangaosurprise Got it! You are the best! Thanks!!🧡👍
@@terrimabrey93 That's why I call it the rinse spinner, which when unpacked, means the spinner that removes enough water for me to pick up the wet clothes without making a puddle.
What kind of stand do you use underneath and where did you buy it from
It's a bench, and it was custom made to go with a dining table set. Any sturdy bench or short cabinet or set of drawers should do. The key is that it is sturdy, as the machines create vibration and can rock back and forth when in operation.
What do you have your washer on? I want some height to it too, so the water can drain down to the tub🤗
It's sitting on a bench. Whatever you pick, make sure that it's sturdy so that the vibrations can be withstood.
When you poured water in the spinner what was middle knob sat on? Normal or drain?
The knob was set to normal. The spinner side doesn't ever hold water, no matter what the knob is set to. When the machine is in use I keep the drain hose in the bathtub.
@@shangaosurprise Thanks.
I have Tha exact same one,my panda electric dryer don’t work as hard no more, after I take my clothes out my washer & put it in my spin dryer there 98 percent Bone dry
Thanks for confirming what I thought all along! I hang my laundry but if I didn't have the ability to do so I would definitely get a panda dryer.
@@shangaosurprise it’s well worth Tha money,it pays for itself
If you got a shower head with a hose, it would be a lot easier. You could just fill it up with the shower head.
True! I have actually figured out how to get some plumbing, and I'll make a new video explaining that. However, I did find that the shower head is very slow when I tried. So there's many options.
@@shangaosurprise screw off the shower head and it will be alot faster flow!
well my portable washer spinner still spins pretty well. 3 minutes a load are perfect, maybe you should increase your spinning time from 1 to 2 minutes
I've actually tested this. No matter how much I spin in the small portable washer I can always get a significant extra bit of water out with the panda. It saves hours and hours of drying time on the line.
Are you able to use the spin dry while washing as well?
I have them both going at the same time as well as the separate spinner all at once.
How many times do you rinse?
Can u use pods for these
You could get an adapter to attach it to your shower hose
I ended up doing that! I got a diverter for the shower and connected it to a short garden hose.
Is there a water max line? & why do you add water to the spinner also?
The hose that came with the machine doesn't fit onto standard faucets in Canadian homes. This is the same product that they sell overseas and Asia and Australia so perhaps their faucets are different. I add water to the spinner because that's what a standard washing machine will do during the rinse cycle. While your washing machine is spinning it will add water to the spin in order to extrude any remaining soap.
Where is your spinner guard for the twin tub spinner???
There's a removable piece and then a top flap.
My question why does the audio on my headphones go left side headphones when he talks?
Does it come with warranty? How long does it last ? Since you bought it?
I bought it a few months before the video was posted and it's still running. Check the warranty of the product you're interested in, this one was off-brand and I don't remember if it had one.
How much water do you add?
Hi I know this is an old video but I just bought a similar machine anyone who owns one can you tell me the steps on how to get it to work best?
I just bought one of these portable washer dryers and the only problem I'm concerned about is you don't get your clothes rinsed out I have to run the cycle drain it fill it drain it fill it just to try to get the soap out and I barely add like he said a squirt of soap
The only thing I can think of is that you might be using dish soap? Or the detergent you use is just so extremely sudsy. Also, if your clothing is not that dirty it will suds excessively. This might sound counterintuitive but try adding a teaspoon of oil to knock down the suds.
Mine moves out of place on spinner and it's really loud is that normal or do I have it setup wrong
You may not be loading it correctly. Try layering clothes flat and avoid clumping and swirling around the drum. Take the shape of the letter "Z" for larger pieces that fold into itself flat after released.
Does it pmug into a wall to run or how does that work.
Yes it plugs in standard.
