  • After 3 years of full-time travel, these are the travel essentials that we would recommend you pack for your next trip. These items are especially good for carry-on travel, but we're traveling with check-in bags at the moment and use these items everyday! Whether your traveling carry-on with a suitcase, check-in with a backpack, or going ultra-minimal, these travel essentials will help your trip go smoothly so you can focus on your destination. We use these travel essentials for our full-time travels, but if we were packing for a vacation, these items would be the first things in our bags. That's why we call them travel essentials - whether you're packing for a year or a week, these are the things we'd suggest you buy for your trip!

    Packing for travel can be hard, but once you figure out what travel gear makes your life easier when your going to a new place, packing becomes a less daunting task. As full-time travelers, we actually love packing for a trip and love testing out products to see what will make the cut to stay in our backpacks as we hop from country to country and explore the world. We've ben surprised to see some travel gear stay in our backpacks since day 1, while others have been replaced with updated gear or replaced with the exact same item! When we began traveling in 2021, we traveled with carry-on only, and even then, we carried a variation of all the items included in this travel essentials video (in many cases, the travel essentials in this video have been with us since we started full-time traveling).
    If you choose to purchase one of these travel items, we sincerely hope you love them as must as we do! Each of these items makes our lives easier, and we hope the same goes for you :)

    ======================
    Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we'd be making travel vlogs on UA-cam, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.

    I have all the tripped items in your list and have had them for 9 months. Tip for your electronics bag instead of dealing with the leather pull tabs that for me were always falling off. Use a hair tie. My favorite I prefer my Compass Rose compression packing cubes they fit into my suitcase better.

    • @DLFH

      I've used hair ties for years for small bags that don't get high use, but eventually had to put some money into nicer reinforced zipper pulls.

    Just an odd tip for your Tech Pouch. Put the batteries and electronics in a ZipLoc bag and then into the pouch. All you need is for an errant flood or huge downpour to soak your luggage. But if you encase them with ZipLocs, it's one less worry during a storm.

    • @696969bold
      @696969bold 21 день тому

      Doesn't a ziplock bag trap moisture inside or encourage overheating?
      Consider putting your tech bag in a dry bag if you're concerned about getting electronics wet.
      Niteize or Osprey makes a waterproof pouch that can be used for tech.

      @@696969bold Yes a waterproof pouch would be best. The ZipLoc bag won't trap moisture if you put everything inside dry to start.

    I just found your channel and really like your style already! You two are energetic, informative and have a good vibe, so I am a new subscriber! This vlog is helpful and I added a few items to my to buy list. After looking at your previous videos list, I do love how you seem to visit some unique places that not everyone features, but also look forward to hopefully seeing where you go next!

    These are such great gear essentials! I love my Tripped travel kit, especially the double zip big mesh pocket and you get two other useful bags. I have made use of multiple items from Tripped for a long while now, and come to love them for their quality, durability, and functionality. Vessi is another company I've come to love and have found their shoes comfortable, durable, and as waterproof as they promis. One thing to keep in mind about Vessi is they do not come in half sizes so I typically go with an 8 wide or 8.5-9 US womens and found that an 8 fit just fine but check the size chart for each style. One other item you guys have shown before but did not feature in this video is the Heroclip. I've got multiple sizes and they have come in very handy from running holding up my bathroom bag and providing a dry line to attaching my roller bags together. The Heroclip is another item that's great quality, very durable, and extremely functional.

      So awesome to hear you’ve found so many of these items and other items we love to be so helpful! We think you’ve got great taste in gear 😂😁😁 That HeroClip really is incredible. Mico replaced his after losing it in Indonesia a while back. We couldn’t believe how much he struggled without it for a few months in between losing it and getting a new one 😂

    We leave in just a few hours on another mission trip to the Philippines. We have the packing cubes and tripped toiletry kit and tech kit. Love them. We need to get the matador soap keeper. Thanks for sharing!

    The Tripped electronics bag looks great! I have one from a UK department store that is just too heavy for travel... so I shove the cables and battery packs into a pocket on my backpack, which probably isn't the best!!!

  • @Rachel_1983

    I recently got that Matador soap pack and its AMAZING!!
    Soggy soap is always such a pain to deal with. It felt like a splurge for such a small simple item, but its worth it!
    Also obssssed with my Owala. A perk is that I can fill it at water refill stations without having to take the lid off! Very convenient

    😅. Another good video. I do like the Tripped brand and love merino wool! Safe and happy journey through Central America! Rita

    I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...

    What's the breathability like on those shoes? I'm concerned that the waterproof treatment might mean sweat can't get out and your feet don't air in warm places?

  • @696969bold
    @696969bold 21 день тому +1

    The Osprey Zip organizer is my absolute favorite. That toiletry bag you showed looks like a knockoff of that. 🤔
    Consider using disposable shower caps from the dollar store to cover the soles of your shoes.

    Hi Nicole and Mico, the shoebag is great, but make sure you’re shoes are not wet. If they are and they stay without ventilation for too long. The shoes will get mould and you can throw then away. 5:38

    • @nicoleandmico
      @nicoleandmico  22 дні тому

      Yes that’s a great point! We always try to make sure dry shoes go in but sometimes it can be a challenge in humid countries. Still great for keeping the packing clean and tidy though 😊

    I hate to be a critic but this video seemed like one long brand name advertisement. I love following your travels and have enjoyed your previous packing essentials videos but this one just seemed like a lure for sponsorship.

    • @nicoleandmico
      @nicoleandmico  22 дні тому +16

      Thanks for your honest comment. Yes it’s true that our travel lifestyle does depend on sponsorship in order for us to keep creating content. However for every product we put out there there are always 10 more that don’t make the cut because we find we either didn’t test it enough or it just wasn’t good enough to share. Before we started full time travel we did so much research on gear and we always aim to make videos that our past selves would have found useful. Regardless of what you thought about the items, we hope you got some insights from it and it helps you in your research too 😋☺️
