Hi from Russia) Keep a little advice: When you knead the composition, pour it into another container, as part of the composition does not mix at the edges)) Thank you for your video)

Blackbeard, to minimise bubbles forming on the silicon mould, I modify a very small 12v motor (uneven weight attached to spindle) and then clamp it to the side of the formwork box. This effectively agitates and vents the bubbles out through the top. Especially also useful for fine detailed formes. Playing with catalyst ratios will also slow the cure (and, I think, increase shore strength) allowing more time for bubbles to vent. Probably not important in this case but useful method all the same. Thanks again for your wishes, hoping the same in return.
i genuinly wish all the people all the best in italie! and i hope you and the rest of the world overcome this crisis very soon! friendly regards from the netherlands....
Love the black ones for sure I sort of like the res and white but would need to see them finished on a handle. Hopefully some videos making these into handles soon.
I like how you mix colors and define shapes, there is a deep sence of art and design in your projects. Well done as always! And stay safe too, hope you and your family stay healthy and well!
Just as a subscriber and American. We’re just glad to know that you’re doing ok. We will all get through this so long as we’re smart about it. Even though, that’s a lot to ask in this day and age. Thanks for sharing buddy. Glad to see this isn’t totally slowing you down
BBP is such a nice guy, like he really tries his best to document everything he does so that we may replicate it, very rare to find this amount of dedication to the simpler things other cahnnels would just see as a waste of time.
hello blackbeard i've been with you back when you had 2000 subs , its been a pleasure to watch your vids and to see your channel grow. I don't know where you are in Italy, i'm in the north so you know what its like at the moment, stay safe friend, and to all the other people around the world where ever you are be safe.
I worked in the aircraft industry with honeycomb structures for 3 years. Recommendation (see 3:38) - such aluminum honeycombs can be easily cut with a sharp knife. Just hold the blade at a 45 degree angle and cut through with short, quick strokes.
The red/white sprayed set looked like it came out well and with less opaque resin mix would show the contrast better. Maybe just gloss black sprayed on one rt degree angle so the other way is aluminum
I LOVE the cork backed scales. The colour contrast from red to white was super cool. This strike me as a slightly more difficult but I think better looking version of Micarta. Cannot wait to see these make their way into another video
I love these. I would like to build knives, but just do not have the space, or time right now. If I had a knife, I would love to use those scales.. They are wonderful....
Awesome !!! I don't know why you thought this wouldn't be mind blowing . Two questions please , 1) is the honeycomb metal or just shiny plastic? 2) is your pressure pot a paint type pressure pot , a pressure cooker pot ?
When playing with the honeycomb and the two-toned spray paint, try a black resin backing, and something more to refract the color, like a large silver or white glitter, it might show the color better, and maybe even be a little opalescent!
There is also a fiber style honeycomb that works really well with composite materials you could try that if you haven'talready. I would have to say that I really like the plain black scale, there is a simple beauty to it that's very pleasing to look at.
Try transparent inks and multiple transparent/opaque layers to produce 3D effects. Use silicone oil/different density pigments to produce layered colours where the bottom layer colours push up through the top layer colours producing some amazing effects. Put down a layer and carve a design into it, then use a contrasting layer and some sanding to bring out the carving before completing with a layer or two of transparent/clear. Use the rubber mold and a 3d printer(or carving) to produce resin shapes that you can integrate into a design. Mix and match all the above.
For any newbies watching .. be safe ... cross cutting that narrow piece it's so easy to get it jammed or kicked back trapped between the fence and the blade.
Thanks and I hope ALL is well with you! Thanks for sharing n I know you will definitely awe us with whatever you come up with! Cheers n Love from Canada
Great job Sir. I really enjoy your videos. I also hope you are doing well right now. I would offer 2 small pieces of advice.... #1, when you are trying to do each cavity a different color, get a lab pipette, or a small eye dropper, to place the resin in the cavity. It will give you much more control, and help you segregate exactly which color belongs in which hex.... Also, it looked to me like you might have "smooshed" your hexes a little, when placing them in the mold.... Which, in your finished product, threw off the "purity" of the 6 sided hexes.... I would humbly suggest you cut the hex mesh into a smaller rectangle, so that it fits very comfortably in your mold, and does not become distorted.... This is on the theory tht it was "side pressure" that distorted the hexes.... I didn't really grasp initially that you were trying to make knife scales.... I was kind of wondering, "where are we going with this?". Neat idea though. I think it could be amazing. Keep experimenting! I really do enjoy your work, and your videos. Best of luck Sir.
Awesome scales bro, 1.52m subscribers. God damn you’ve done well brother. I remember offering you words of encouragement after watching you construct your 2 x 72 grinder a few years ago. You had less than 10000 subscribers then and I could tell you were destined to attract a large audience. The manner in which you are not scared to build anything you want to is very refreshing and you totally deserve every single subscriber.

Always a exciting time with your videos. Can't wait to see what you use them for
Have you ever thought about making a kiridashi or a pair of wood carving knives
what is the prupose of the hex scales? what will they be used for?
Good 🌹👌👍❤️💯💯
@@sbfarmer8 obviously he's going to make knife handle with them and the purpose for the hexagon thing just for Aesthetics
I loved the gloss black, the contrast with the silver honeycomb looked great.
Stay well and stay safe.
Mark Wallis ❤️
Yeah, surprisingly, that was my favorite, as well.
Thank you Mr. Black Beard for being here to entertain and educate us!!! 👍😎👍

Ok. Спасибо за ответ, а я надеялся что это будет частью чего то прекрасного.

Beautiful scales. Black one look awesome. Prayers and wishes for all the people around the world. Stay safe👍👍👍👍👍
Another great project! Beautiful scales. Thank you for your kind words at the end, and cheers!
I appreciate you showing the labels of the materials you use, a lot of these videos gloss over that and you're left wondering.
Really liked that result particularly the black and the red.
red & white was cool as it changes the color as you move it. i like that technique the most
What a wonderful video. I am doing a simulation on Honeycomb core for crash boxes in bumper system and this video is mind-blowing. 🎉
Прикольные соты получились👍

Something tells me they are very strong. I like the first one with two colors best. Great video and great idea. Thank you for making it.
Nice to see you hope your doing well. Sorry to here about the things going on there my prayers go out to you and your country.

Absolutely loved it! So many new ideas from that. I like how you used different colors for the honeycomb to get a design going. Stay healthy! ❤
I was a chopper mechanic in the military. The inside of a rotor blade looks more or less just like that.
Awsome scales. The red and clear was my favorite
The green an the black ones are my favorite
Very nice, the black one in particular. Love to see them on a knife. Stay safe.
The black one looked really nice
Well said my friend. The world needs positive people like yourself. And for all it's worth, your honeycombs look bad ass!
Böyle şeyler nasıl aklına geliyor müthiş görünüyor
Stay safe brother, i hope you're doing well through this crisis.
Vakarian 👌🏻
Очень красивые заготовки, получатся рукояти огонь 🔥👍👍👍
I wish I had just 5% of the talent you have.
