ABOUT US
We're Colin and Samir, creators based out of Los Angeles California. We make videos about the creator economy, and the lessons we've learned over 10 years of being on UA-cam. We also interview creators and try to get to the bottom of what's working on UA-cam and where the creator economy is headed.
Always an honor fellas. Since the moment we met, there was a spark in our friendship. Colin and Samir, you two are of some of the smartest, most dedicated and humble people we know and we are truly grateful for knowing you.
What a wild and unpredictable journey we’ve been on together.
Here’s to a lifetime of friendship 👏💙
NFTs are a pyramid scheme
❤❤❤❤❤
I find it interesting how this interview turned to the card game interview two UA-cam channels creators'
yall look stupid with those jackets
Good on ya boys
You’ll probably never see this because I’m 10 months late to this video, but you have no idea how much this vulnerable conversation helped me today. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s changing lives ❤
He
Well. It's official. Collin and Samir can find the "business" side of just about anything
I'm glad you brought up the value of you as a creator. Creator studio is one thing, but I recently did an in person panel at Sakura Con and seeing the people in my community, speaking with them face to face, no 10/10 can take that away.
CHEFPK showing up everywhere! Love the shokugeki recipes!
Such a fantastic interview as always, Colin and Samir! I really appreciated the reminder about the focus on videos first (external opportunities next), the vegetable analogy, and the inspiration that can come with saying no to tempting opportunities. Thank you Yes Theory for your openness to share!!
When are you going to do a colab with the YesTheory, Michelle? They challenge people to go out of their comfort zone, and you accept challenges all the time. Why not reverse the role. Challenge them to do something that they haven't thought of yet and make them suffer a bit! 😀. Include Colin and Samir and that will be the best video ever.
Love you, girl! 🌹
Michelle + Yes Theory = Unbeatable and Morbillion view count video idea (it's simple math)
I need Michelle Khare and Yes Theory in a video!
I found Colin and Samir's channel last week and I've been watching previous episodes non-stop! Such great value!
So good!
😉
Watch the mrbeast one. It’s very good
@@warrioryt7037 I think he/ her has already watched it... 🤭
great to see that people still care about quality videos with meaning now a days
Ammar: "but I'm struggling to apply 'saying no' in my own personal life" (getting teary) Thomas: Just this look of "I've got you Bro. I love you" The genuine compassion & love for each other (all who appear on camera in a given video) is what I see in all the videos I've managed to watch of the Yes Theory (which is why their video of a specific event was so much more hard-hitting & impactful than that of a Big-Name-in-the-movie-industry of the very same event!) & it's That that keeps me coming back for more. So encouraging. eg. click on video about a country that doesn't exist on a map & end up in tears with all the heart-felt tender moments - typical! (#hidethevegetables) 😍
"hiding the vegetables" really captured something we're been working on for a while. Such a great interview!
I wrote that one down.
@@RainyDayForge agreed even though I’m not a creator. It’s a good way to live and speak.
That hide the vegetables part was gold. Great convo
This is the motivation I needed to hit record this morning
One of my favorite videos I've watched in a while, I'm not a creator nor do I have interest in creating content, but the conversation around career life balance, finding purpose and confidence in what you do is so powerful and amazing to hear. Thank you guys!
I share this sentiment. This channel and it's quality are awesome. You two are highly entertaining and endearing. Bonus points for your audio and mic quality being unreasonably good.
Yep, super-hard not letting the views and UA-cam studio metrics get to you when they aren't always going up. I've been experiencing 2 bad months in a row right now and I'm searching for "my way and my place" on UA-cam. Taking it step by step but I know I will figure it out once, and your channel is one of the few rare channels I'm looking forward to watching every week. You are definitely knowledgeable, authentic, real, creative and much more. Do a screenshot of this comment and similar ones, print them and look at them from time to time when you feel it's all falling apart. Channel like yours is what motivates me the most to better organize mine. (p.s. I feel bad commenting so often on your channel, I don't want to look spammy, but you always give us something to write about! Thanks for everything! Always keep it real like this and you'll always have an audience.)
Appreciate all the comments so keep em coming. Thomas' point about tracking process instead of metrics was very helpful for us.
I can definitely relate to your comment. And please don't stop commenting 😅
@@ColinandSamir I love what he said there. It's definitely a more healthy way to go on about things
The longevity and philosophy of Yes Theory is why I love their channel. Their authenticity and passion really comes out. Especially in this interview! I really love how they are unwavering and intentional on what they are doing in their channel.
Absolutely loved how this interview ended without ending. IRL some conversations just end without any formality. Thank you for keeping that ending
Totally, resonate with Colin saying "Of course you should be, being interviewed, but should I be the ONE interviewing you?" I think too many times as creators we let our self doubt and fears cloud what we can create and make. I understand that fear all to well.
This is the podcast I was waiting for.
It really felt like old pals catching up in the best way. Also, kudos to Colin for being so honest about confidence.
You guys have grown so much in the two years I have been subbed and I just want to say thank you for giving me content and inspiration, both you and yes theory have amazing communities and I proud to be a part of them both. I've been looking into content creation but I'm broke, you guys have any advice, but anyways congrats!
Always love your interviews so wasn't expecting otherwise, but was not expecting how real and deep this interview got (or how moved I would be by it). Hearing Samir say "success in this world is just an opportunity to do more of it" was a major lightbulb moment - up until that point I had only applied that concept to my previous career (which I left because I didn't want "more of it"), but it hadn't occurred to me that that applies across the board. Definitely something I will always keep in mind going forward. Thanks for such an insightful and value-packed video!! - Em
This was a lovely and insightful conversation
Honestly I love how Collin & Samir get right into the conversation after a short context/intro❤❤❤🥺 LOVE ITTTTTT.... Get Emma on the podcast 💥🙏
I loved this episode, honestly one of my all time favorites. I'd love to get on this show one day to have this type of conversation about finding, creating and building value through your content creation, just out of curiosity how does one appear on the Colin & Samir show?
I discovered this chanel years ago from a Yes Theory’s Video. Since then I watched every single video. It‘s so nice to follow Colin and Samir‘s journey and see their growth. And now seeing them all at one table it just put a smile on my face. 🙈✨
Completed my work for the day early today for your episode- and you bless us with this gem! Absolute banger! love both of the channels!
I watched the Mr Beast interview on how the beginning of the videos should improve and MY GOD you took his advice seriously. This is very close to perfect, so very great job so far!
I love that this is titled “a very honest conversation” instead of “an interview”. Huge shift in vibe.
That quote at the end is actually deep as hell, damn. I've never heard anyone say that before, i love it. I cannot wait for someone to casually say "it's not about the destination, it's about the journey", and then get to drop in and say "it's neither, it's about the company" and blow everyone's mind and tell them i got it from Yes Theory lol.
Put out the longer version of this interview plssssss i wouldnt mind how long it is. This is just so goooooooooooood. I've learned so much from u guys ❤️
I am a long time fan of Yes Theory, and it's fascinating seeing the natural dynamic between Thomas and Amar. It comes across in somewhat in their videos, but what a treat to see their friendship in an informal setting!
AHHH THEY ARE BACK! I was craving some colin and samir without having a full video last week!
I'm not all that familiar with YES theory, but I'm excited to hear their story!
I highly recommend getting familiar! Their channel is great and if you don't leave every single video leaving with a beaming smile, I'll eat my hat.
You should watch them. Best community ever!
They have an awesome channel. Their documentaries about the largest pyramid in the world and the Wim Hoff documentaries are amazing, as well as all of their normal videos
They are arguably the single best channel on the platform rn imo. They are a channel that anyone can enjoy.
Drop everything and go watch their content
The moment I saw Colin & Samir in Yes Theory's latest video in Yakustk, I knew there was a video coming
You could tell how aligned you guys were with these two from Yes Theory and it shows in the wholesome and inspiring nature of this video. I say do more videos like these! I think you're unlocking a very impactful part of your business that you might not have realized, helping creators become more authentic and better versions themselves which in turn can inspire the world.
Such great content. Collin, we all see your growth as a creator, and it’s v fun to come back to this weekly. I love the way this channel is today, it’s wonderful
I feel like this episode was so much more about Colin and Samir in general, than Yes Theory and I absolutely love it.
This was so great. I would love to hear more about their creative process and storytelling. Especially Thomas' process for coming up with the voiceovers and angles.
Really loved this conversation. Was really refreshing and tasteful to hear everyones perspective/ experience on the business side of things and how it bleeds into your personal lives. There is power in saying 'no', and balance is key!
Two of my favorite creators sharing and giving insight on their thought processes and approaches to video making is pure gold to a new creator like me. Thank you guys so much 🙏
I just checked out your channel and I think your gonna do great man, keep taking this advice and working you'll be something big one day.
Loved hearing these two channels collaborate as well! Just subscribed 👍
@@muunmen9586 awe thank you man that means a lot :) glad you enjoyed the videos
Just amazing to watch an interview/talk with yes theory like this. Both so interesting and inspiring and very educational too. I really enjoy these talks, can’t wait for more❤️
Colin idk if you’ll read this, but you ABSOLUTELY deserve being the one to interview these people.
Your humor, authenticity, and everything you bring to the table is one of the main reasons I watch every week, and this interview just proved it further🔥
Ending the video just like this, without lenghty goodbyes is the way! Loved every sec of the conversation
32:29 those cuts, so good 👌
I love this show! Can't tell you how much vaule I get from watching Colin and Samir. I own a coffee shop and plant shop and have been wanting to make content around that but have not figured out how to get started. I am setting up a very small studio in our plant shop to start creating content around plant care. I really appreciate all that you guys do!
I would watch every video 👍🏻👍🏻🤗
Send us what you make once you post we love both coffee and plants
Been waiting for a video with them, great to see one :)
The improvement in these intros in the past 8 months is great keep it up!
32:30 is the best cut of this interview 😂
Thanks Colin for opening up. Super relatable.
Idk how many people were around a few years ago when Colin and Samir were first getting started and showed up at the yes theory house to meet the guys and get advice. So cool to see the full circle.
It is so refreshing to see vulnerability laid out so calmly and respectfully towards each other.
Hello Colin's and samir, loved the video...can you guys explain how to do the animations part when you where talking about vidiq?
I looked at their NFTs.... They're just doing Kickstarter, but with Crypto. And it's probably worse than Kickstarter because instead of using a platform built on offering products to certain tiers, you have to go out of your way to collect emails and mailing addresses from owners because it's not natively built into the platform.
This podcast is everything that goes in my head as a smaller creator. Love this channel because it level sets the life of being a creator.
Nothing better to start off monday morning than with a nice colin and samir video!!
-- the other sameer
PS: didnt know about the spotify podcast creator Q&A until know
So cool to see 4 of my favorite and my most-respected UA-camrs all at one table, sharing their wisdom
Dude I love you guys!
Thank you for this, this means a lot to me & giving so much inner & outer exploration value!
You understood the gap & you definitely bridge it together, always!
My favorite creators together in one video is just amazing 🙌🏽 what a thought provoking conversation 👌🔥
By the end I thought you guys would go on a ride with your new company car. I think that'd be something fun to do at the end of every interview😄
THAT ENDING THOUGH!!!! Sjoe. was amazing. Loved every second of this (as per usual lol)
This has been super inspiring. It's SO good to KNOW what you WANT. We are taught as children to not want things. Or at least to not be heard with what we want even if we don't get it. I am wondering if your guy's fear of this all ending began when you were little and something that you loved got taken away from you for a hurtful reason, IE you didnt behave the way your parents wanted you to and got punished.... Got a new sub here. As children we also werent allowed to say no. We are born knowing what we want and dont want.... "Even if you don't know or don"t care, your yes' and no's to life are still there."
This resonated HUGELY with me, and I’m not a content creator. I have my own business, 5 years in, with a team of 10 others now (it started with just me and my business partner). Everything you said about managing people, instead of doing the thing I actually love doing. Some great advice and musings here. I feel the same - that it could all come crashing down, and I’ll lose it all. That I have to constantly be doing better etc. “It was a good run” haha, yeah I feel that too. Even when you talked about enjoying the day… did I get to the end of the day knowing I enjoyed myself? Thanks for your honesty in this interview guys (all 4 of you). This was EXTREMELY helpful for me.
So much so, I liked and subscribed :)
PS - IT’S ABOUT THE COMPANY!!!!! Fucking gold, Amar 🏆🥇⭐️
to the colin & samir team, y'all are doing such great work and i'm so excited to see where you all continue to go.
Airrack getting called out right here for his biggest pizza 😂
Colin and Samir are among my favorite podcasters. They are so professional and exciting and inspiring too. Really appreciate everything you guys do.
I found out about Colin and Samir from yes theory
As a new instagram creator, these are the kind of conversations I want to have. I loved the way you added spark in it. It's such a good game and I loved hearing a little more personal feelings and experiences.
This interview FLEW byyyy. Great content.
Colin and Samir have truly found the content that the produce best and since then they've seen incredible growth.
I can believe the rate their growing after years of being stagnant, for example when I subbed they were at 50,000 subs and that wasn't even that long ago.
This is such a good channel. Great interviews, great production, and amazing storytelling.
Learning to say no is such a difficult thing for so many people and learning to do it could change so many things for you and you are so relieved from the outside pressures
‘You’re going to get to the point where you have more money than you need…and then: what now?’
What a bar.
launch an nft campaign lmao
Colin, if you read this, you deserve to be interviewing and INTERVIEWED as well.
Great episode!
YESSS, been waiting for this for so longg!!
This is a really interesting conversation for me personally as someone who has a UA-cam channel that’s strictly just an outlet for me and never really intended for it to become a means of income. A little background….. Im a tarot reader… but my channel started as a diary of sorts just me talking about my struggles with mentalhealth and how spirituality and tarot have changed me into a much healthier, grounded and authentic human. The vast majority of my videos were literally me just sitting in front of my camera talking about my experiences and I was completely SHOOK the moment a video reached over even 100 views. It was both exhilarating and terrifying. I didn’t start this to get views I started it as an outlet for myself and a way to genuinely help others going through the same struggles I was going through. When you guys were talking about hiding the vegetables and making a choice between the business side and the creative side… I just kinda stood there speechless. One of the main things that sets me apart in the spiritual community is that I focus really heavily on healing and authenticity. My tarot readings arnt about trying to predict your future or click bate… they are more or less a counseling session. I constantly get unsolicited advice that I should “post readings on tik tok” or that I should do more “___” readings because that’s what gets views…. But at what coast!?! I recently did an 18+ tarot reading… it was about sex… and well we all know that sex sells ; so of course the fucking video for more views than any of my other readings… including ones I really really loved. I loved the whole hide the vegetables conversation because I didn’t even realize without even consciously doing that it was something I’ve recently begun doing. I’ve began to do more love readings and popular topics but I still keep those underlying themes of healing and absolutely refuse to sugarcoat my readings “sis if he’s toxic I’m gonna say he’s toxic” 🥴🤣… long rant short: thank you. I needed this
And your comment I needed…wow 🥺
@@lillidreamhouse awww thanks, luv 🖤🌙✨ hope you are having a wonderful day. Sending you all sorts of loving energy and healing your way
I love how these videos are the introspective sparks for myself and questioning my 'why' and decisions in life.
I found out about Yes Theory because of you guys video of "24 hours to meet Yes Theory"
Colin and Samir, absolute kings! Incredible interview as always guys! Can’t wait for the next one!
Lots of key takeaways & smiles from this videos. Such a great conversation
The last few minutes of the interview, so so relevant to my life. Thank you 🙏
For real one of your best interviews. Love all 4 of you!! And I've learnt so much from all of you so thank you!
Glad to see your guys success. I subbed back in the day and I see you're getting huge names now. Congrats..keep grinding
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EPISODE FOR YEARS!!
I've been waiting this video for years, thanks C&S!
Learning how to say no has been my biggest struggle since I got a "YES" tat.
i got goosebumps when samir said "the disney map is expanding" such a throwback holyshitt
This was great! It was so cool to see a different “business side” to Yes Theory
Been having a rough couple of weeks at the channel I work for, really needed this episode
I enjoyed your episode on the How I Build This podcast. I've been a fan of Guy for a long time and having recently discovered the both of you, it felt like 2 worlds were crashing together. I actually listened to it twice and plan on listening to it again because there is solid value in it.
Which ep?
@@BlondeVlogJournalist it just came out last week. Very recent.
@@BlondeVlogJournalist it’s from a couple episodes ago . It’s called HIBT lab
I strongly relate to the idea of the balance between making a video that helps you develop as a creator, but also feeds the ever present algorithm.
Awesome job you guys! Cant wait to be on this show one day.
You nailed it, as usually. I loved the vulnerability you all showed in the last 20min, sharing about impostor syndrome, feeling of unworthiness...
As an avid youtube consumer YES theory is the only channel ive ever bought merch from… multiple times ! These 2 lads both speak multiple languages and are so intelligent.. the whole yes fam love you !
Ironically im wearing the same shirt as Thomas while watching this. Love Seek Discomfort.
that was a really good interview
51:12 51:17
Full circle kind of pod… I found y’all when you found yes theory at 700K now your sitting here at 700K with them. Keep up the great work guys! Always informational and quality content!
OMG! You guys literally voiced every thought that every creator goes through. Great interview.
my favorite youtubers collabing made my day. (glad to be part of the yes fam)
The pursuit of a future happiness was the biggest trap I faced, and letting go of that mindset was the biggest blessing. Future happiness is an illussion👏
What a wonderfully refreshing and extremely valuable interview. Thank you 🙏
Can't believe they're hereeee... Excitement ×1000..
This is a really great video, Colin and Samir. We get to see the intelligence and thoughtfulness behind Yes Theory.
Actually a fantastic interview, found myself engaged the whole time.
