Two most settings that I love about Harry Potter 1. Harry not being the top of every subject but defence against the dark arts 2. Ginny always performing brilliant reducto
What’s great about Harry being a defense against the dark arts professor is because he gives constructive criticism and doesn’t put anyone down for not performing a spell correctly. I’d imagine Harry was inspired by Remus Lupin.
Daniel Radcliffe actually had the idea of making Harry wear button down sweaters for these scenes because that’s what Lupin wore in Prisoner of Azkaban
Remus was easily the best out of all the defense against the dark arts teachers we saw Like, Quirrel was of course evil, I can’t remember the guy from Chamber of Secrets but he was just a straight up fraud, Mad Eye Moody wasn’t even Mad Eye Moody and while he was decent, he had his flaws, Umbridge was a joke and hated kids anyway, can’t remember who taught in Half Blood Prince But Remus did REALLY good, like, showed students dangerous creatures, and taught them spells to defend against such dangers, as well as ensured his learning environment was safe, both from the monsters and dark spells, as well as the students’ judgement
To all those bullying Neville He was bad at magic because he never chooses his own wand. He always used his father's wand until in fifth part his wand broke in the department of mysteries fight Then he got a new wand and we all know how good he became after that
AND he got the wand to work, even when it wasn't his own. He proved himself worthy of the wand through his own work and dedication, and finally believed in himself.
You know what I love the most about this scene? No-one makes fun of each other. When Neville accidentally disarms himself with what is 'technically' a first-year spell they get out of the way but they don't make any comments about how he should be better at it by now or any of that other stuff. When Hermione stuns Ron before he can stun her, the teasing is good natured and primarily the result of his braggadocio before they started It's got nothing to do with his skill, only his cockiness. And when Neville disarms Parvati, they're all genuinely so happy for and proud of him and you can see just how much that validation means to Neville. Harry managed to create such a brilliant learning environment.
Expeliarmus wasn't a standard spell, it was picked up by Harry via Snape through the duelling club in his second year. It was never given a specific grade, and is used by aurors. Not a first year spell.
Who doesn't love Fred and George? They're the funniest and humorous characters in this movie. They always make me laugh. Another thing to add is Harry is an excellent teacher when it comes to defense against the dark arts.
I think it's because when you see someone working hard, you start cheering for them and when they succeed you also feel joy. If I remember correctly, in books it was mentioned that Neville works very hard.
The thing I love about Harry's teaching method is that he encourages everyone without seeming arrogant or sure of himself. In fact he's just as worried as they are but knowing what's to come, he cares more about protecting his fellow students then keeping what he knows to himself
@@jrfrancis4236 J.K Rowling never did really specify how spells work, but i believe for myself that every spell can only work as good as he got performed. If you do it wrong or unprecise, there will be no precise tight curse coming out, more like a small explosion with a small tip (which is going to hit your opponent). Therefore, young and unexperienced Nigil takes a try and of course doesnt do it perfectly, causing a part of the stupefy to be a shock wave hitting himself.
My thoughts on this: • This was one of the most honorable organisations in the Wizarding World - beside the Order of the Phoenix. • The only one who survived Avada Kedavra has a talent for teaching defence against the dark arts.

You just gotta love those moments where the *students* put in the extra effort to teach their fellow students what the *teacher* refuses to despite it being the latter's job to teach it to them. Like, as unlikable as Snape was, he at least did his freaking job. Umbridge, however, shouldn't have been allowed to be a teacher in the first place.
To be fair, Umbridge wasn’t really ‘allowed’ anything. She only got the job because of the Ministry putting pressure on Hogwarts. Fudge was convinced Dumbledore was organising Hogwart’s students into an army to help him overthrow the Ministry and install himself as Minister. Fudge put Umbridge on the faculty specifically to prevent the students from learning anything because, at the risk of getting topical here, the powers that be are afraid of youngsters questioning them.
Additional script: Ginny: Reducto! Other Weasleys: "Damn it, sis, why do you always have to make us look bad!: Harry: "Nice shot, Ginny, but that was our last training dummy." Additional side note: the guy playing Filch shouldn't eat anything he hasn't prepared himself when you consider the candy in this movie and the pie and resulting effects in Game of Thrones S6E10 and S7E1.

Slytherin wasn't the only person to make a secret chamber So was Helga Hufflepuff 💛💛 she made it so that children had a calming time whenever they felt burdened or pressures and wanted some relaxation alone. The only difference between Slytherin and Hufflepuff was that Helga did not include a beast This room is now known as the room of requirement (It's a headcanon)
Okay, Harry’s amazing. He’s a really great « Defence Against the Dark Ats » teacher. I think mostly because he’s had experience with this sort of stuff in the field so he’s great at handling it. There’s also the fact that he retains the lessons he’s learned during his adventures (both good and bad)…. All of them. That makes him an outstanding teacher.
I know he became an Auror at the end of the series, but I still like to believe he would have made a pretty good DADA teacher at Hogwarts (especially when he gets to train his kids along with the kids of his friends).
@Paola Ramirez No, she was not, and the reason she gave them away (*in the movie*-- in the book, it wasn't even her but her friend) was due to Umbridge using Veritaserum on her.
It's been ages since I read the books but i believe the first mention of the room of requirement is in book 4 (goblet of fire). Someone (I think that death eater headmaster) was asking Dumbledore about Hogwarts secrets. Dumbledore jokingly answered that there are still plenty of things that he doesn't know about Hogwarts. He then told a story that one time while looking for a bathroom he entered a chamber that he never saw before. When he tried to find it on another day he couldn't. Cool foreshadowing.
The Room of Requirement is described numerous times in many versions of Hogwarts: A History and i believe, in one book Dumbledore accidentally found it, just couldn´t understand its value or how to use it right. It would have been impossible NOT to write about that room i mean, think about all the things people "lost" in that room or got rid of. The same room where draco repaired the teleportation chamber is just filled with memories and objects from past students and no one ever mentioned it´s existence in a book? I think it was mentioned in earlier books but not its position or how to enter it. It wasn´t even described how to enter the room properly during the movie, or how they got caught in the end (spoiler: they did not bombed their way inside..they were never really found out, otherwise the last movie/book couldn´t have been a possible safeplace for hunted students)
(stepping out of character) I love this clip so much because Neville is my favorite character so I'm happy that Neville found the room of requirement and at 2:32 Luna's face is like "she's gonna kick your butt Ronald"😂
i also really like the idea that neville could have found it. but it was actually dobby who told harry about it. as well as the gillyweed in the fourth book.
It's really intriguing when you look into it when you realize the lessons they receive in the DA is a homage to every DADA professor they had previously (excluding Quirrell). The absolute base of their teaching is Lupin's teaching method, them pairing up and using spells at each other is from Lockhart's Dueling Club, and Harry showing them the properties of the spell is from Moody (Admittedly the last one is a stretch but still fun to think about)
Realistically what did quirrel truly teach them in Dada anyway? How to not let a troll in your house? Pretty useless stuff. Remember, he was the muggle studies professor before he took that post.
@@HHLucifer666I'm pretty sure in the movies, he was holding some type of reptile like creature and I know that part of a Defence Against The Dark Arts class' curriculum is basically teaching students what to do when you encounter a monster like a Red Cap or a Hinkypunk, not the fluffy kinds of animals they learn about in Care of Magical Creatures Class.
How did I only just realise that Ron's "Say you really need the toilet" line was a nod to Dumbledore finding the room when it was filled with chamber pots.
I love how everyone was bouncing around the dummy with stunning spells and such, and Ginny just decides to reduce the thing to Ash, just to show off (and/or scare the pants off of her siblings) Also I adore that Harry not only managed to create such a positive work environment that everyone was so supportive of Neville for overcoming his difficulties, but given that Neville managed to at least contribute to rhe fighting at the Ministry, Harry managed to get Neville to a decent level of competency *While he was using a Wand that didn't pick him*
I ADORE how supportive all of these babies are with each other. I also love Dean's face when Ron's like "it was completely intentional" Dean's like um no you're just in love with her lol
William Hoang except you go to Hogwarts to learn how to USE your wand. You don’t go to school to learn how to use your phone. Umbridge was just being a massive, cantankerous, vile, toxic, despicable, evil prat. But you are right in the sense of Umbridge being a teacher, considering she was modelled after a nasty teacher Rowling had to contend with in her youth, one Rowling strongly and firmly detested. Rowling has revealed the meaning behind Dolores Umbridge’s name. ‘Dolores’ means sorrow, which is absolutely an understatement with the amount of depression she inflicts with just her mere presence. ‘Umbridge’ is a play on ‘umbrage’, from the British expression ‘to take umbrage’, meaning offence. Umbrage means take offence, and Umbridge certainly was offended when her rules, teaching methods, limited world-views and anything else she had were challenged. Rowling felt Umbridge’s surname conveyed the pettiness and rigidity of her character, and she was damn right. Rowling said she put ‘Jane’ in because she thought it felt smug and neat for Dolores.
5:34 Harry's like " Well, girl!!!!! " And at 5:40 he's like " Interesting, " 5:36 Fred and George are like " Yeah, we should STOP messing with her brother " And Ron is internally screaming at 5:36 " BLIMEY!!!! This is embarrassing "
The fact that Harry is the best in his year at defense against the dark arts AND is an amazing teacher. Remus Lupin would be proud. Also I know Harry becomes an Auror, but I think it would be cool if, after he retired, he became a defense against the dark arts teacher at Hogwarts. He seems to really have a knack for teaching it.

@@jasoncummings7 exactly my first thoughts
If he landed in the fireplace, he would’ve gotten the opposite of chills.
He wasn't an Auror for very long and became herbology teacher at Hogwarts after that
@@Aenygma_ that's Neville
@@Aenygma_ that person Is talking abt harry
Harry became an Auror, but would often visit Hogwarts and teach some DADA as a guest teacher.

Not all.
@Paola Ramirez No, she was not, and the reason she gave them away (*in the movie*-- in the book, it wasn't even her but her friend) was due to Umbridge using Veritaserum on her.
They have fascist mentality, they have no real ideology other than submitting to power
It was the only way to get Draco and goons to get into Harry's business.

HP books are full of foreshadowing
Harry is so awesome when he's teaching. No wonder that he is a guest lecturer in Hogwarts.
The twins wen Ginny did reductooooo😍😍😍😍
@Jack Smith I don't think so, because the wizard didn't overpower the master by taking his wand.
Hermoine didn't know about the Room of Requirement as she couldn't have read it in Hogwarts: A History because even Dumbledore didn't know about it.
Dumbledore knew abt the room....he hinted abt it to harry (in the 4th book maybe).
I forgot about that.
The marauders map is how Harry found out
@@Editsify. No. It was Dobby who found the room. In fact, Harry realizes in Book 6 that the Room of Requirement never show up in the map.

(stepping out of character) I love this clip so much because Neville is my favorite character so I'm happy that Neville found the room of requirement and at 2:32 Luna's face is like "she's gonna kick your butt Ronald"😂
Haahhahhaha! *chokes on accident*
i also really like the idea that neville could have found it. but it was actually dobby who told harry about it. as well as the gillyweed in the fourth book.
That's just Luna being Luna
Anna-Maria Bartl I think they gave those parts to Neville so he could have more character development.
It was actually Dobby who told Harry about it not Neville
5:58 “fantastic neville” and where to find them

In the room of requirement😂
How did I only just realise that Ron's "Say you really need the toilet" line was a nod to Dumbledore finding the room when it was filled with chamber pots.
The look between Harry and Ron at 3:52 is hilarious 😂
Yup god it must have been so awkward for Harry with Ron looking at him with that knowing look.

Also I adore that Harry not only managed to create such a positive work environment that everyone was so supportive of Neville for overcoming his difficulties, but given that Neville managed to at least contribute to rhe fighting at the Ministry, Harry managed to get Neville to a decent level of competency *While he was using a Wand that didn't pick him*

Wands away. Kind of like teachers saying phones away. Wands are the phones of Hogwarts.
