Thank you Bro I appreciate your help on these 1911s I’m in the Cali market….. man California gun law makers take it up the ass! So many options we miss out on living here….
Reminder: Springfield only throws a few 1911 batches for us throughout the year. I barely snagged a Loaded stainless and no one has seen a new one in a year
This is true to an extent. They make even fewer runs on the Marine Corps Operator. Finding these requires legwork and patience at times. That’s why I recommend people be ready to purchase as soon as they see something they are after.
Many thanks for this video. If you do more like this you are going to get a ton of subscribers. I’m currently shopping around for a 1911 now and this has been really helpful.
Dan Wesson is the best under $2000. Ive shot many different 1911’s and Dan Wessons are top of the line. Without having to spend that extra $1000 for true custom.
Thank you for that! There were a couple I didn't know about. I'm going to order that double stack RIA for sure and can dream about the full rail Guncrafters.
I have a single stack RIA government rn, I’m looking at the officer version for my second. Plan on getting flush mags for the officer and the Wilson Combat mags work great in the one I got rn
Well as bad as the California handgun roster is at least the people there have a good selection of 1911's because we all know when you buy one 1911 you want more lol
I've had my citadel 1911 for almost about 8 years. Not bad budget friendly, after putting a light on it, thin vz grips and night sights now I realize I should of just got the trp 😂 loved your dan wesson video really thinking about it.
Thanks! Ya sometimes I look at high prices of guns and opt for the base option. Then after all the after market parts it comes out more than the pricier one I initially passed on.
Thanks for reaching out on the response a couple months ago. I have a question about the rest of the 1911 CA complaint. Is springfield the only ones that have that key lock on the mainspring?
Woww Thank you for the run down Mr. Blue!!! I was soo close to buying that 850$ Loaded you referred to me but after seeing your stainless steel pieces, I'm thinking that may be the direction I go!! Especially that new Dan Wesson.. beauty!!
You know your 1911’s. Springfield makes the best 1911’s for the price…..hands down. Too bad there aren’t more on the roster. 1911’s are arguably the safest firearm to keep cocked and locked as well. 👍
im 20, been researching for my first handgun. Was dead set on a p320 then saw all the 1911's. I'm in love, but been wanting the sig emperor scorpion fatback, but obviously it isn't cali legal. Sucks I can't get almost all the 1911's on the market, but instead just a handful of the abundance of opitions
I feel your pain. I bought an off roster Springfield hellcat for twice the price of retail. Its not fun paying that, but if you really want one, you can pay for it PPT. Also, i’d be happy to help you look and research. Let me know if you have any questions. I’m not an expert, but if I don’t know an answer I’m sure I can find someone who does.
@@GatCat update: 21 now...went to the local ffl and had absolutely nothing. Came in asking to possibly look for a Dan Wesson and was looked at like a psycho. Tried to sell me on a Glock. No way Jose. Now been researching to find a MC Op with no avail. Not a very good time in the world to be trying to find one on the market XD. Hard tp find a railed 1911. kind of important factor in my opinion, especially if you want to go and have some modernization
I find it odd that most of the 1911 manufacturers that can sell in California are mostly all the expensive brands. Suggest that maybe it’s more about money than anything else.
@@rhsking05 it’s solely about business. Companies go through the hoops to sell in CA if they see a profit. Companies like Rock island sell cheaper 1911’s but have the capital to start the expensive process. Perhaps tisas does not? Colt decided not to on the other hand. It’s a mixed bag. The blame is on CA for this.
Thank you for the comment nice comments like this means more to me than subscribers and likes. I just appreciate your encouragement thank you very much.
Hey man could I ask! I ended up buying a TRP in stainless steel and i'm in love with it, but i'm curious what makes my ca compliant model any different than the regular TRP?? Whats the difference between the two?? I appreciate ya man!
The only physical difference is the ILS. Internal locking system. Don’t worry, it sounds worse than it is. If you look on the mainspring housing there will be two little holes to lock the gun. I’ve never had an issue with mine, but you can change the msh easily. That’s about it. Nice pick up!
Sorry for late reply. Short answer: nothing is different. California requires manufacturers to submit their guns for California approval. Each year these companies have to pay a fee to sell here. There are new laws and stipulations of what can be on the roster, and these were more or less approved before the current restrictions.
I’m sorry for responding so late, short answer is no. The only 9mm 1911’s on the roster are Kimber Stainless Target II and Springfield Loaded Target. Springfield also makes the EMP. For RIA, you’d have to buy a ca compliant 38 Super and get a 9mm barrel for it.
When asking this you will get many different answers. Both good and bad personal accounts. For example, out of the 6k rounds+ out of my Springfield MCO, flawless. Dan Wesson C BOB. Same thing. My Springfield Loaded Target 9mm had a tight chamber, but that was fixed. The more important question is, what makes a 1911 reliable? That way, if a problem should ever occur, you can understand what to do. This takes time. But there is no brand that is heads and shoulders above any other in reliability. Some can be much more accurate, with tight tolerances and lock up. However this can at times effect reliability. So with that in mind, I’d say Springfield and Dan Wesson. However that is just from personal experience.
@@GatCat Thanks man! I am just wondering because my Kimber currently has some jamming issues and is getting fixed. I think it is just tight tolerances and I just want something that works. Also thank you so much for making this video! I cannot tell you how much something like this is needed!
@@GatCat Yeah especially my stainless raptor II! It shoot so smoothly and when it is finally fixed I'll have what I think is just the perfect firearm for me. I think I might have to model my collection after yours.
Colt makes great guns. And they are the most iconic when it comes to 1911. However, the majority of the seasoned gun community feels that there are better options for the money. As Colt isn’t what it used to be, yet they still charge a premium for the brand. That said, you can still acquire one on the used market. Albeit at an inflated price. I suggest looking into Springfield Loaded. You’ll get all the features for $300-$500 less. And many believe Springfields to even better than Colt 1911’s. If you want to spend a bit more, I suggest Dan Wesson. Those are the best for the money IMO.
That's a bunch of bullshit...Thank God I live in the free state of Florida...I just bought a Tisas (Turkish) 'Tanker'...commander style for $386 from Centerfire Systems...with shipping it came to $404...the transfer/background check here was $25...what the hell is California's problem...or is that a stupid question???
Its a very valid question. Basically, CA lawmakers have created many laws to essentially ban guns altogether. They mask these laws behind restrictions and in this case, a “safe handgun” roster. All new handguns must incorporate micro-stamping…a technology that does not exist. And will never exist. Its not good.
What's wrong with California? The influx of Big Tech, Big foriegn investors in the Real Estate markets and enormous amounts of immigration from countries that do not have guns in their societies. Michael Bloomberg is also heavily involved in finance of state and local elections. All of these are big anti second amendment contributors. And let's not forget it was a republican,Arnold Swartznegger that signed the gun roster into law. It's a one party rule. Money.
@@williamryan7403 ya it seems that big cities are not America anymore. Most of them anyway. Even larger cities in Texas and Idaho are seeing a bigger voting base for democrats.
