They look good and if the claims are true about range of tension and weight, you've definitely got the colour thing dialled. Would be nice to see a longer spindle option though, for those who prefer a wider Q-factor - really don't understand why flats should have a wider Q-Factor than clipless.
The look great! Wondering if it's safe to use them if riding in street or MTB shoes with out cleats. My guess is it's not a good idea since the pedal clips would keep the cleatless shoe off the platform and pins.
Loved my one up flats before switching to clips. My biggest gripe though with my one up flat pedals was how often I had to rebuild them. Sometimes every few months. I bought my crank brothers used and have not had to even take them apart to clean/regrease the internals in two years. I dont even know how old they are since I bought used. What have you done to make improvements on the bearing/spindal system from your flat pedals for better longevity?
Depends who you ask I guess, i had CB's and one day the axle siezed and pulled off from the pedal body altogether mid ride, just a foot stuck to a pedal and the spindle stuck to the crank...Destination fucked. I've had Saints ever since and for twice as long, no issues. I won't go back to CB but I will definitely go for One Up.
Hey Evan, Thanks for the feedback. The axle & bearing/bushing platform is a totally new design from the Alloy pedals. Please email us at support@oneupcomponents.com and we would love to help you with your current alloy pedals. Thanks again
Holy shit guys, these look awesome! I ride Saints right now and always strike them on rocks, love the low profile of these and compatibility with Shimano cleats?! Wtf?! I didn't know that was legal but I'm all in on that.
Yes, Shimano let's others copy, they are "open source" Unsure as to what extent they are "open source" though. IE HT is very similiar but the different enough one needs HT clips, but otherwise same overall idea.
good launch video. All the important information. I thought they'd be heavier than xt from their appearance.....good option for someone who wants a platform and spd that isn't a bulky mess.
Looks like they have quite a bit of float, I expect they will be like hope or shimano? Won't be moving from crank brothers if that's the case which is a shame because the OneUp flats are really great pedals.
I was on-board until I logged on to the website and saw the price @ !!!!50%!!!! more than I paid for my saints. Crazy. I'd want a Ti version for that kinda money
Looks like these just dropped so likely no one has ridden them yet. If you have, are they worth the $180? I'm curious to try but would hate to spend that much just to think "meh, not a very noticeable change to my $50 pedals".
I have Nukeproof Horizon DH pedals which are far more aggressive than this and you don't notice the pins at all when trying to unclip, the pins help when you weight the pedal, which gives you more control through cornering. I'm hoping OneUp make a more aggressive pedal as I hate my foot floating on the pedal
My thought exactly. And how does float work if the pins are stuck into your shoe? I run flats on my e-bike. I really dislike flats for the lack of float. On my regular bike I run SPDs. I have modified the cleats for more float and a smoother release.
Is the axle tm stronger than an XT? If you make the hex too deep on the axle it won't be strong enough to take the energy of rock strikes without cracking. That's my experience with XT's, un-rideable and stuck in the crank arm.
+ Slimmer than Shimano Saints, lighter, better platform by the looks of it. lots of colours. - More expensive. Durability? well we will have to see, but it is going to be hard to be Saints on that front. How come there are no reviews yet? Usually review sites get products early to review them.
These look OK but Crankbrothers clips all day for me. Riding in the PNW all winter Crankbrothers clear mud so much better than other cleat standards and I never have to worry about not being clipped in; something I can't say about riding SPDs.
Wish you guys went with CrankBros clip-in style, I would've been all over this for my enduro bike. Curious if you guys are going to make a XC/gravel style pedal too? Already into the other ecosystem so not appealing to switch over yet.
those look nice, but man I have just never gotten on with SPD. The CB eggbeater system is far better in the mud, dead simple in its operation(KISS is life), and has maximum(and adjustable via different cleats) float. The only negative to CB Mallet DH is that the cleats wear out a lot quicker than SPD cleats do. Now if this prompts CB to make a thinner Mallet DH to compete, that would be the best of both worlds!
History of pedals. In the 80s shimano and look created pedals that did not use toe clips. And the world called them clipless. You clip into clipless pedals. And strap on to toe clips.
Here in Hawaii this past weekend I was the only one riding ounce in awhile you run into 2 or 3 riders big difference from yrs. ago when there's a lot riding in a way I say yes MTB is slowly dying I don't know bike shops in your area but mines there's like 2 MTB there selling but it's way in the corner and all you see is talaria's and Sur Rons selling you see a lot riding the trails too . As for me I don't see myself buying a new MTB it's not worth the price anymore. I'll stick with my 2019 Transition Patrol
Looks like they have quite a bit of float, I expect they will be like hope or shimano? Won't be moving from crank brothers if that's the case which is a shame because the OneUp flats are really great pedals.
They remind me of my current favourite clip pedals without their own proprietary cleat system. definitely picking a set up when the season starts
I was expecting him to drink from the pedal the whole video 😂
😂
Amen 😂
😂
Perfect timing, I think it’s time to try clipless, what better way to from oneup flats to oneup clipless!
Finally someone made a spd style pedal with proper platform like Mallets have. Great!
please make a super light XC race pedal.
Ill support One Up single handedly taking on the industry to change the name from clipless to clipped pedals
Awesome! As soon as someone makes a size 16 wide shoe I'll pick up a set. In the meantime, I'll keep riding in my DC Pures.
I was planning to make the switch from flats to clips this year but couldn't decide what pedal to settle on. These came out just in time 🤟
They look good and if the claims are true about range of tension and weight, you've definitely got the colour thing dialled. Would be nice to see a longer spindle option though, for those who prefer a wider Q-factor - really don't understand why flats should have a wider Q-Factor than clipless.
We can't wait to try these out on the trails!
Definitely interested in these but will be hard to pull me from HT. Looking forward to hearing rider feedback.
I've been running HT for years. Best pedals ever
Awesome! I use broken plastic cages spd pedals. Well done!
These look sick!! Great job to everyone at one up
Thanks 🙏
As a wanna be filmmaker, I notice that the riding footage at 0:09 is nuts!
Please add an easy release cleat like the SH-56
These are clipless pedals. Not clip pedals. Know your history people
The look great! Wondering if it's safe to use them if riding in street or MTB shoes with out cleats. My guess is it's not a good idea since the pedal clips would keep the cleatless shoe off the platform and pins.
Very nice, really want to try them 👍🏼

@jk2302 interesting. I had the exact same thing happen but to my one up flats!

I’ll buy some if I don’t have to hear this guy pronounce Shimano again
That's just the way people from western Canada say it.
@@caljcam all 38 of em
You need to grow up and understand that the world is not what YOU think and people/regions have diferences.
I have watched video several times....when did he pronounce Shimano?
😂😂😂😂😂
Looks like they have quite a bit of float, I expect they will be like hope or shimano? Won't be moving from crank brothers if that's the case which is a shame because the OneUp flats are really great pedals.
Same float as all SPD cleats, its a standard design
Need to talk to Sram and license a Time ATAC variant for those of us with dodgy knees.
When can we see crankbrothers mallet compatibility ?
Can I remove the clip part and use them without?
I was on-board until I logged on to the website and saw the price @ !!!!50%!!!! more than I paid for my saints. Crazy. I'd want a Ti version for that kinda money
power meter version pls
Is the 5deg float baked into the SPD design, or can the pedals be modified to have zero float?
Shutup and take my money! Excellent work on weight and stack height.
Do the pedals creak as much as your dropper post?
I thought pedal float was result of cleats, that's why shimano sells two versions. These would be great on trikes.
float is the same at 5deg. the release angle is what differs
Damnit. These look nice and I don't want to buy new pedals. 😂 The rebuild kits are just what you need and pretty cheap (relative to Shimano).
yep gotta cop a set
Crushed it!
Take my money right now!
I like my Horizon Nukeproof clip pedals
So I’m the first old man to point out that these are clip-less pedals. Damn I’m old.
I like the new change of name to clip pedals 😎
Looks like these just dropped so likely no one has ridden them yet. If you have, are they worth the $180? I'm curious to try but would hate to spend that much just to think "meh, not a very noticeable change to my $50 pedals".
For example my HT T2s are 32mm thick for the clips.
can you ride those without clip shoes as well? eg when keeping the screws at max distance?
No
Two questions, on the lower end of tension, are they as easy to get out of as Shimanos? And are they compatible with SH-56 cleats?
I have XTR clips right now. So I don't need these. But I WANT these.
Nailed it 🥳
Thanks!
Normal spd knock off. What’s new?
stilll shimano design
If the pins contact your shoes then how do you unclip quickly? Seems like you would be going down with the ship.
I have Nukeproof Horizon DH pedals which are far more aggressive than this and you don't notice the pins at all when trying to unclip, the pins help when you weight the pedal, which gives you more control through cornering. I'm hoping OneUp make a more aggressive pedal as I hate my foot floating on the pedal

clip is the new clipless
I guess so, they certainly said it enough times…
It’s about time tho, old clips (not clipless) aren’t relevant anymore and haven’t been for a long time
@ Shimano tried this with click'r, it didn't stick.
Would you use these on a gravel bike???
Yes, for sure. People at our company have been.
Nice
Finally!
Is the axle tm stronger than an XT? If you make the hex too deep on the axle it won't be strong enough to take the energy of rock strikes without cracking. That's my experience with XT's, un-rideable and stuck in the crank arm.
these would fit on my new bike i stole from da park
Remains to be seen if they are as infinitely durable as Shimano XT pedals...
That's my only question as well. I do prefer other clip systems to shimano, but my XTs just keep on going when others need constant service.
Oh go on then, take my cash!

Now for a ONE sided pedal
make this same pedal but just a flat, no clips
These look OK but Crankbrothers clips all day for me.
Riding in the PNW all winter Crankbrothers clear mud so much better than other cleat standards and I never have to worry about not being clipped in; something I can't say about riding SPDs.

Patents bro
just keep the CB pedals? I mean the E LS is 18g heavier...
C'mon, only 7 colours?! ;)
I'm stoked to check these out !
You can get them in any color, as long as it's black.😊
Big ups for not making a new cleat!
AU$300?! They'd wanna be the best...
Pricing? Did I miss something?
159usd
I the Uk they are nearly double what saint or xt actually cost
Expect these pedals to become the new standard for MTB in all terrains: from XC to DH riding
those look nice, but man I have just never gotten on with SPD. I moved to Time awhile ago to solve many of these issues.
Not wide enough
Stupid shimano and times doesn’t offer rebuild kit to all their pedals making them disposable. Hope one up change this
so, clipless
And let's stop calling them clipless, and instead clips
History of pedals. In the 80s shimano and look created pedals that did not use toe clips. And the world called them clipless. You clip into clipless pedals. And strap on to toe clips.
@@whodunit5621 I know. So let's move on BECAUSE we are actually clipped in...don't let the roadies win with their archaic ways.
He looks AI generated and not a real person
MTB is dying so what's the point
Maybe I’m in denial, but what makes you think so?
Nah it's just bike companies fucked up and thought the covid boom was gonna be forever. Component companies will be just fine
I don't know where your getting your information from, but I suggest going for a ride.
