100% recommend the ranch hand, my dad had one on his old lbz and we hit a deer going 75 and my little brother stayed asleep and there was no damage at all.
You weren't kidding, truck looks great. Just picked up an lbz the other day and already looking at upgrades. I'm in michigan too, just west of grand rapids. Keep it up man the videos are great.
Good job, looks great. I recommend the Ranchhand bumpers. I have the Legend series on both ends of my 07.5. Guy hit me in the rear doing 40...totaled his car and all I got was his paint on my bumper. Only thing to look out for with them is the mount holes are larger than the frame holes and the supplied bolts, so you have to re-adjust them periodically. Anyways, keep up the good work. Thank you for your service and for the videos.
Truck Master - naw looks good bro, it's even on both sides and doesn't look hacked the fuck up. I've seen alot worse that's for sure. I would get some duplicolor clear and paint that edge with the nail style brush to keep it off the rest of the bumper and rock that shit. Ranch hand makes nice bumpers but nothing is better than fabbing up your own bumper that nobody else has.
That's exactly how I've always cut my bumpers. I've never found anything that will hold up to the constant abrasion of snow, salt, and sand in the winter for coating the bare metal. It's right in the line of fire with the tires.
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any help you can offer me!
Truck Master another thought is Thunderstruck bumpers. Like the look of them better than the Ranchhand. Ranchhands are to rounded for that body style in my opinion.
Looks just like how I cut my bumper. 👍 I didn’t do it to mine but I heard to use a can of sprayable Zinc. I think its expensive like $20 a can but that’s what I have been told to use.
The ranch hand bumper a friend of mine said there amazing, a friend of his was driving down the highway someone pulled out in front of him they hit at 55mph just a paint scuff on the ranch hand , the car totaled, maybe use a rattle can of galvanized paint on that bare metal tape it off to prevent over spray. Thx for the video share, my 08 i bought in the U.P. my frame rusted bad my son suggested bed liner from the door rubber bump trim , i debadged taped sprayed that bottom area from the lower front all the way back , it looks nice grey/silver & black lots of complements, but I'd use galvanized paint on the bare steel. In case you don't post a video Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving.
As commented use nail clear nail polish it will help! And also use wd40 on your rims. Hit helps fight corrosion in the areas that use a lot of salt. Just spray it on and wipe it every other week. It helps!
Good old Michigan winter. I wish i could work on upgrades on my Duramax first. But the rockers and cab corners are shot. I'll try and post a vid of it. Both trucks look good.
Truck Master no doubt man you'll be putting down some serious power, im already pushing the limits of my stock trans so no point in adding any more power until I get my trans built, some day lol, I enjoy watching your channel and I like the way you are doing your build keep it bro.
Lol, man I wish I would've waited to buy these wheels. Looking at the troubles your having even with a 6" lift makes me think the 2" leveling keys I just ordered won't be enough to stop my rubbing issue. I've pounded the wheel well closest to the cab aka "NorCal Mod". That helped me gain 1.5" I've cut 6 inches off the front bumper and I upgraded to kryptonite uca's and am waiting on kryptonite leveling keys. I all ready have 5100 Bilstein struts and steering damper so I can level it another 2". After work I will be relocating the window washer fluid reservoir and removing the wheel well support. I am hard up on keeping my cv shaft angles as low as possible and would love to keep my keys as low as possible. I like that look. NorCal suggest clear as rust prevention. Forgot to mention that, another guy already said it a few post down. *Edited for lift type
Cool thanks for the videos i bet it’s a pain to edit your truck is looking good and thank you for your service to are Country I took the cheap 4x4 stickers off my truck I think it looks better
Truck Master, I agree it came out good. I have just been toying with the idea of doing the same thing. So I have been contemplating where to make the cut. Nice truck. I have an 05.
I've had a lot of trucks but just with regular tires but I recently bought my first truck that came a with a lift kit installed and large tires and I'm already having rubbing issues, so I'll be shaving away some plastic I guess.
I wish my truck would only rub on the bumper. I am about to order some 20x12 on my Cummins but it is going to rub on the rear side of the front fender 😥😥
Why don’t you just oil spray that truck you have to clean it up abit more cause the heat brings out the oil in the summer but it stops rust my 11 year old truck is rust free cause I get it stayed every 2 years
Look awesome! Use clear nail polish on the bumper, sounds goofy but drys thick and clean and will stop corrosion!
+Chris Hoffman great idea thanks
100% recommend the ranch hand, my dad had one on his old lbz and we hit a deer going 75 and my little brother stayed asleep and there was no damage at all.
+Oklahoma Nights that's great
You weren't kidding, truck looks great. Just picked up an lbz the other day and already looking at upgrades. I'm in michigan too, just west of grand rapids. Keep it up man the videos are great.
+Steve Lager thanks and congrats on the LBZ
looks really good, I'm about to cut my bumper for the same reason. 22 x 12's makes for a little rubbin lol.
Are they on 33s?
Keep that truck up and she looking nice with the new tries
+Steven Root thanks!
I’m glad to find out I’m not the only person to put away there truck in the salty winter
+Redd Hazlight gotta love a side beater car
Yeah let’s get a lifted 4 wheel drive bad ass truck and have to drive a beater car in the snow! What’s the point of having the truck?
Roll on bedliner works perfectly
+Justin Johnson great point
Looks like the the cab and bed on the Dodge is 2 different shades of gold
Good job, looks great. I recommend the Ranchhand bumpers. I have the Legend series on both ends of my 07.5. Guy hit me in the rear doing 40...totaled his car and all I got was his paint on my bumper. +R.J.H1978 good to know I can't wait for a new bumper
U cut a little too much there
+Cesar garcia I think I did to but it's all good
Truck Master - naw looks good bro, it's even on both sides and doesn't look hacked the fuck up. I've seen alot worse that's for sure. I recommend MOVE bumpers. Can get a custom front and rear bumper kit for the price of a ranch hand. All you have to do is weld/ have someone weld it
+Bass Master got it thanks
When I cut my suburban I used the chrome door molding that sticks on like a u shape works really good.
Damn that cummins is sick .. also your duramax
looks so much better with 20x12!
+JW Montoya I can't agree enough so glad I did this
That's exactly how I've always cut my bumpers. I've never found anything that will hold up to the constant abrasion of snow, salt, and sand in the winter for coating the bare metal. It's right in the line of fire with the tires.

I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Gunner Riley instablaster ;)
I like your videos buddy, keep doing Videos like this.
Thanks
New setup looks much better, let’s get some more fuel on this thing! Keep up the vids 🤘👍
+C M fuel and air is a must in the future thanks
This video was helpful didn’t know how far I should cut😅
When you do the new bumper look at the MOVE DIY bumpers. Could do clear spray paint for rust prevention.
Truck Master another thought is Thunderstruck bumpers. Like the look of them better than the Ranchhand. Ranchhands are to rounded for that body style in my opinion.
Definitely go with Move bumper.
It'll make a great DIY video. Lots of stock front end parts removal, welding and fit up.
Looks just like how I cut my bumper. 👍 I didn’t do it to mine but I heard to use a can of sprayable Zinc. I think its expensive like $20 a can but that’s what I have been told to use.
RC LB796 thats what i used also to fit my 35’s with no lift worked good no rust yet
+RC LB796 thanks for the advice
+JD Sanchez nice 👍
+truckmaster I think you should get some move bumpers
FELLOW MICHIGANDER HERE FIRST TIME WATCHER AND I MADE SURE TO SUBSCRIBE!!!
DONT WORRY BRO ITS WORTH IT 👌🔥
+jon maciel agreed
Go to lows and get flood, the stuff is clear and prevents rust
The ranch hand bumper a friend of mine said there amazing, a friend of his was driving down the highway someone pulled out in front of him they hit at 55mph just a paint scuff on the ranch hand , the car totaled, maybe use a rattle can of galvanized paint on that bare metal tape it off to prevent over spray. +Brian Yetzke thanks sir I really appreciate the advice good luck with the truck as well
Clear coat should work
Great job cut looks clean .
+Steve Hammonds thanks!
good job on the trimming i dickered my 420s didn't trim enough #stancelifeproblems
Dont lower the truck lift the garage
+JASe BOw I really don't want to that but I might in the future
Truck Master I actually did this to my brothers garage, raised it 18"
Put epoxy on the cut and cut some door trim rubber over it. They make the trim in chrome too.
As commented use nail clear nail polish it will help! And also use wd40 on your rims. Hit helps fight corrosion in the areas that use a lot of salt. Just spray it on and wipe it every other week. It helps!
+Brady Bashon perfect advice I will do that for the winter instead of plastidip
Looks good as helll
Did you have any discoloring from heat when you cut your bumper?
No
Clean cut looks good, what about the inner fender at the front corner does it rub there?
Gonna have to get out the cutting wheel!!
Good old Michigan winter. I wish i could work on upgrades on my Duramax first. But the rockers and cab corners are shot. I'll try and post a vid of it. Both trucks look good.
+GOOF K5 leave a link for me when you do
Clear coat
Good rust preventative is por 15 kinda exspensive but worth it
+Nicklas Claesson I may look into that when I do my frame
Looks way cleaner than I expected good job! New turbo next!?
+High desert John no not yet maybe next year I have to save up my pennies
Truck Master I hear that bro, just a guess on the new part lol
+High desert John I wish the truck would be a beast since I have the trans built now
Truck Master no doubt man you'll be putting down some serious power, im already pushing the limits of my stock trans so no point in adding any more power until I get my trans built, some day lol, I enjoy watching your channel and I like the way you are doing your build keep it bro.
Did you have to trim the fenders by the doors? Nor-cal mod?
How much of a lift does your truck have?
Did you have to do the norcal mod?
Lol, man I wish I would've waited to buy these wheels.

*Edited for lift type
+cesar laso great point but I'm glad this worked out for me it's worth it in the long run for me and looks awesome
Cool thanks for the videos i bet it’s a pain to edit your truck is looking good and thank you for your service to are Country I took the cheap 4x4 stickers off my truck I think it looks better
I think it would have looked better if you started the taper at the top of the bumper cap to follow the shape of the wheel well better.
+Chase Garland well I can't go back now but seriously I think it turned out good
Truck Master, I agree it came out good. I have just been toying with the idea of doing the same thing. So I have been contemplating where to make the cut. Nice truck. I have an 05.
+Chase Garland it was really hard for me to commit to cutting into the bumper but you only live once lol thanks man take it easy
+Chase Garland thanks!
What type of grinder is that
What size tires you have
Check ur clear coat cause all those sparks will get imbedded into ur clear coat then it will show little rust specs
+Justen Blankenship ok thanks
Look so good on these new 20s bro. How much is lifted?
+martin vielma thanks man I’m on a 6 inch procomp lift
Use nail polish on bumper. No need to spend $$ on clear or paint. Dollar store nail polish (black) will protect it fine.
what air ride suspension system do you have for this beast? I am looking to add one to my 2004 lifted silverado
+Will Shortreed readlift it’s a good brand
Its bad, I cut some of my bumper with 22x14's and 375's. i can still only go 1.5 turns on my wheel hahaha
+Shane Godshall but I'm sure your truck looks awesome that sounds like a cool setup
I'm new to diesel. Id like your opinion on somethings
+eric banks thanks man
what wheel and tire set up is on the cummins? could you give sizes too thanks!
+Mitchell Phelps thanks
Does the tire rub on the other side?
+Kaleb Smith no
Why are you storing a lifted truck with mud tires for the winter? You must drive a tank when it snows...no hate
+quan hatten it's cool man I will clean it later just making sure it fits
quan hatten. Thats what im sayin dmax should be in the snow not a tahoe lol
Rayray Stayn Low ohh 😂😂
Wat air bags u running
William Romine commenting so I can hear the answer too 😂
+William Romine ready lift brand
What part of Michigan??
+Stupid Ideas Lansing area
Spray oil on the frame and in the body panels to stop rust
Spray clear coat to cut areas on bumper...cover everything else up
+Forsyth HotRods thanks that's a great idea
if you went with 20x 10 and 35in tires , you would be good to go without any cutting
+rob robert I know but I was really stuck on 12s
Por15 is a rust convertor/preventative
I got a feeling she's getting a set of twins next
+Travis Williams no I wish but you n the future maybe
What size of a lift do you have
+chris chrystal 6 inch
I've had a lot of trucks but just with regular tires but I recently bought my first truck that came a with a lift kit installed and large tires and I'm already having rubbing issues, so I'll be shaving away some plastic I guess.
Hey throat goat! Hold. The. Grinder. The. Other. Way.
Please paint the plastic fender flairs and front bumper plastic gloss black to match the truck!!
+Kitt Powell well noted thanks
Nice
Is ur truck a 06 lly
+catrider7891 07 LBZ
I wish my truck would only rub on the bumper. I am about to order some 20x12 on my Cummins but it is going to rub on the rear side of the front fender 😥😥
+Brayden Aurich it looks cool though
Truck Master thanks man! Would get my a dirtymax and build it pretty similar to yours if I had the money!
+Brayden Aurich that's sort of my problem this truck is making me broke lol take care man
Truck Master haha I feel ya. Thanks man. I'll deffinitely stay tuned 🤙
How high is your lift
+Matthew Cordova 6 inch
Damn beavers eating bumpers again
+Connor Linnenbrink lol best comment
Looks sweet. I wouldn't have the guts to cut my baby but it turned out really good!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Put some grease on the cuts or oil
Get some Rustoleum clear coat. I bet you won’t even be able to tell it’s on there. I have no experience with it, but I bet it would work
+Brady Anderson I will check it out
Use a door lip seal trim
To be honest bro it looks like its factory men i leave it like that looks cool by the way
You should be wearing a full face shield on top of safety glasses. If that blade fractures, those safety glasses or your face wont have much chance.
And….. wah wah wah…. Here comes Debbie downer to ruin the mood with disaster scenarios
Take all the air out the tires but 10 pounds would of done the truck js
Spray some WD40 on your rims it will protect the paint against the salt.
+Robert Hohensee thanks man
Just let a little air out of the tires that’ll help you some.
I'd rather let air outah the tires than mess with tortion bars
Clear spray paint lol
+thomas tarvin thanks man lol
Why are you keepin a dmax in the garage. In the winter. Poor truck she needs to be playing out in the snow
+Rayray Stayn Low that salt is destroying my frame if you are from a northern state it think you would understand
Trimming isn’t a big deal lol I️ have 20x9s with 35s and I️ scrub with a.6 inch lift on 12’ chevy
Rip bumper
+Hunter Sanford lol
Truck Master thx also im form Michigan
Paint the bumper black
I have the same problems
20x12 ON Mud tires...that makes no sense. Mud tires on 20x12 rims, makes sense. But having to cut for 35’s is nuts.
Chevy life bud
holy shit why did you cut so much out
+therealAK ALASKA your right I did cut to much but it still turned out good
well now you can fit even bigger tires :)
LineX Coating
I did that too
+Fernando Conde not fun
7:10 turn the volume up. Trust me
You did not need to take that much off
You're telling me you bought a truck and you store it in the winter time... the fuck
You probably don’t live in a northern state
im from ohio... thats the exact reason why i would buy a truck... so you can actually drive in the damn winter.
"Outstanding" did I just hear a Marine or?!......... #usmcvet #5812
Why don’t you just oil spray that truck you have to clean it up abit more cause the heat brings out the oil in the summer but it stops rust my 11 year old truck is rust free cause I get it stayed every 2 years
+Sneakyshark14 wish I would have done thanks
Very aggressive with the sema beaver
Dont forget to drop the ass down and add a gay light bar ..all them grinding sparks just went in your paint and r going to rust
+Jacob Mcling what do you drive?
Truck Master my mom's Buick with q buckshots
+Jacob Mcling sounds awesome
You shouldn't have had to cut any of the metal. You should've only had to cut the plastic trim piece.
