He came to my college campus last year and gave a talk, super interesting man and very very kind and respectful to everyone. Always enjoyed his goofy movies and his eccentric personality that he has in public events, but he’s actually super down to earth and chill.
I met him at the airport when he was filming a movie here in Alabama. He shook everyone’s hand and signed every autograph that people wanted to get from him. He was a very cool and approachable guy.

Birdy is fantastic. One of his best performances. I first saw him in Valley Girl - against my will! And I immediately thought, that guy, I gotta look out for that guy. Saw Birdy in the movie theatre and to this day, nobody really knows that movie, even though it's such a huge movie in terms of his growth and his career. I've always felt like I picked the right horse! That's my guy! I hardly ever see his movies, especially from the early 90s on, once he jumped into the action garbage. But in the 80s, what a run of movies.
I'm getting so sad to see how old all my heroes are getting. And simultaneously getting reminded how old I have gotten too.. thanks Cage for the action filled 90's and 00's and the joy you gave me!

It's just so devoid of anything fulfilling and one of those films I guarantee people pretend to like because they think it makes them sound smart. Compare 2001 to Interstellar, and there is absolutely no way on earth that 2001 is even 5% as good. Absolutely no way. I've heard the argument that it's great because it's a film that let's you interpret what is going on. So if I filmed myself in a space suit spinning around near some light bulbs with no dialogue, and entrusted the audience to create an interesting narrative themselves, would people call it the best film ever in 50 years? Just weird

I’m in the other camp though, I see it as a long analogy for the human birth process beginning with insemination, with a focus on the life created as a passing of intellect.
