I used to work at a restaurant in San Francisco in the mid-late 90s where Nick was a regular. Sometimes he came in with his pals. Sometimes he came in with Patricia and the kids. He was always cool, laidback and tipped damn well. Legit dude 👍🏼
Good on him. No surprise that he tips well. He has a generous spirit, and the bucks to accompany it. I'm a pauper, except when it comes to tipping. I loved his Reddit AMA. Such thoughtful and sincere answers compared to a lot of celebrities who can't be bothered to do that sort of thing. Cage deserves all the love he's been getting recently.
Seriously, Cage is a lot of things. But he’s also one hell of an entertainer. Must be tough, carrying around such massive talent.
Some say it's almost unbearable
The weight of it all.
nice
just went on nick cage interview binge. he's so funny! and intelligent.
great actor
I like how honest Nic Cage is, just telling stories and being hinself 100%.
A nice change in interviews like these where it's usually planned boring questions and/or marketing speak.
He did an ama on Reddit recently, and he was super cool (as usual).
The guy oozes charisma. We need more of Nic Cage in Hollywood
No matter how many bad movies he’s been in, he’s lived an amazing life, and gave us some amazing movies.
Adaptation. starring him, Chris Cooper and Meryl Streep was one of the most unique and amazing movies featured on cinema.
There is no bad Nicolas cage movie lol he’s the best part of bad films
@@MaximaMac The wicker man bad movie remake comes to mind.
Tons of terrible movies but tons of great movies too!
@@MaximaMac couldn’t have said it better myself
I never seen his interview in my 43 yrs life, I am stunned by this.. he is simply awesome and one of a kind
❤ Being John Malkovich is another movie that uses a real actor playing a version of himself- that was released in 1999. I am excited to see Nicolas Cage's film - it looks hilarious
I second that recommendation. And _This Is the End_ (2013) with Seth Rogen, James Franco, et al. is another hilariously well-done example of that.
Also Extras by Ricky Gervais has sooooo many actors playing versions of themselves.
Episodes with Matt LeBlanc
What about that movie with Jean Claude Van Damm ?
@@TheLablujan True. Great one!
The interview ended just as Cage was getting into a groove.
Seems like he's embraced his wackiness and the audience is laughing with him instead of at him. That's a big difference.
Dude's had a wild life it seems and he still hustled and pulled it all together again. I'm happy he has a comeback, I always wished it would happen, because I think there's something there with him.
BUT, he hustled long and hard. Hope he does realize he has earned respect of people by working so hard and doesn't waste it just on wacky stories and being turned into a "crazy uncle Nic" kind of celebrity. He deserves better.
Its really sad how a tiny minority on the internet made a meme about him and deliberately spread constant jokes about a very talented actor ridiculing him until it seemed as “everyone” knew him from memes not his performances as a very gifted, special actor that rightfully won an oscar
@@lightup6751
@@lightup6751 His catalogue reminds me of Christopher Lee, who was a legend but also liked taking random roles. I think his preference to overact and exaggerate first started the memes, but his PR has clearly turned it around. What a colorful guy, who is just earnest in being himself.
This had to be one of the most entertaining interviews I seen in a long time. I like nic cage movies, but I never knew just how fascinating of a person he is to listen to.
Agree!
He’d be the ultimate dinner party guest. He can talk for hours on any subject and be entertaining
So glad this man is finally getting his due! One of the best actors and hardest working in the industry and not to mention one helluva dude. Try and find someone that ever said anything negative about him...I dare you (AND THE IRS DOESN'T COUNT)
Totally interesting guy, fascinating. He’s like an old style Hollywood, super entertainer. I got to go back and watch his stuff again. New looks fantastic, too.
The real National Treasures were the Nic Cages we made along the way.
I’ve been watching Cage for over 30 years. Reading peoples comments here, i had no idea that he was so loved by fans though. Not just for his work, but for who he is. I’m gonna go back and pay some better attention to him I think.
One of the greatest actors of all time and a massively interesting person. He should do talk shows more often but definitely podcasts too. He has so many stories to tell I'm sure.
“Of all time”? Maybe of his generation. But all time? C’mon.
@@samiam619 ppl are crazy. He’s crazy not too good of a actor. He’s just crazy
Initially I felt the same way, “he should do this more often”, but then maybe some of the magic and mystery would fade? Anyway, the guy is the best
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was amazing. Nicholas Cage always delivers on entertainment but this movie was a masterpiece in story telling.
It's so nice to see Cage enjoying himself again. And he's looking good. He's gotten into shape, got rid of that awful dyed beard. I hope he keeps this energy up.
Agreed!
His hair is badly dyed
Seriously, he looks amazing!
His shiny suit 😙👌🏻 perfection!!
@@cgill914 all I am saying is his hair dye job looks ridiculous. Other than that maybe he looks ok.
I used to work at a restaurant in San Francisco in the mid-late 90s where Nick was a regular. Sometimes he came in with his pals. Sometimes he came in with Patricia and the kids. He was always cool, laidback and tipped damn well. Legit dude 👍🏼
What celebs are like when the cameras aren't on them are the true story.
Good on him. No surprise that he tips well. He has a generous spirit, and the bucks to accompany it. I'm a pauper, except when it comes to tipping. My tip baseline is 20%, minimum; I know how hard wait persons work, and how poorly they're paid. Be like me 'n Nick. Be generous. An extra few quarters won't break the bank, and these working folk will appreciate you.
Nick Cage is one of the best actors of all time. When people say he’s “over the top” they’re really just saying that he is committed. He IS! The only time I’m ever “let down” by him is when a film franchise tries to reduce his “cageness”!!!
He is one of the greats, if not the greatest imo. I hate that he makes so many low rated movies, it has nothing to do with his acting.
Agreed. And speaking of "Over the Top" he should totally remake that Sylvester Stallone 1980's opus. The world needs more arm wrestling divorce movies. 😍
@@aylinyilmaz4031 I allows him to buy a two-headed snake for $100K.
Nicholas Cage is one of the most talented and entertaining actors I’ve ever watched. I’ve been a big fan of his since I fell in love with the movie “The Rock” and have religiously watched all his movies since
I've loved Nic Cage since Peggy Sue Got Married in 1986 and still to this day adore him. Being an odd duck in a way is a good thing! Life would be so boring if we were all the same.
So a fan for 36 years.....I'm 64. I have 2 favorite movies, 1st- City of Angels, 2nd Family Man.....however tied with those are Con Air and Face Off. Completely different movies....just love Nic.
@@christinanavarre8389Valley Girl got me and it was Nick for life after that lol lol I forgot about Peggy Sue got married… Going to have to go on a stream hunt

Nic Cage is one of the greatest movie stars in cinematic history. I've seen him do hilarious work in "Raising Arizona". Action like "The Rock" and my favorite "National Treasure ". An amazing interview. Great job Jimmy.
I've been loving Nicholas Cage as an actor for so many years.
Nice and I Can Picture Nicolas Voicing Shadow The Hedgehog in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 Besides Keanu Reeves!
Say what you want about Nick Cage being Nick Cage in every movie, but the reality is that it works because he's such a likable human.
What does that even mean? If you ask me he’s never nick cage in his movies.
@@j2rizzo Sounds like you know what it means and this is just a rhetorical question. You don't have to agree, it's just something I've always heard people say about him. 🤷
@@musicalexisvid sorry that wasn’t directed at you. It was to all the people that say that. I’m an actor and am very passionate about these things. I ultimately don’t care.
@@j2rizzo 😂 "I'm very passionate about these things" and "I ultimately don't care" in the same breath is too funny. So you're a comedic actor it seems. 😁
@@musicalexisvid I caught that contradiction too. How about this for real honesty? I’m one of those annoying online obsessed people that can’t resist but to share their opinion whether it’s warranted or not.

Those stories are pure gold.
Nic should have his own show called "Other Celebrities Interview Nic Cage" like a regular talk show except its abt him every time. So cool....
yeah lol am afraid most of it wouldn't be publishable 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They could call it "Get in the Cage"
35 years ago I saw Vampire's Kiss for the first time.....I've been a MASSIVE fan ever since.
Nicolas Cage picked the perfect show to be a guest after 14 years of not being on tv and that's my favorite Jimmy Kimmel Live. My two idols Jimmy Kimmel and Nicolas Cage. What a night for me🤗❤️!!!
He's very eccentric but that's part of his charm. What a great and fascinating actor
I've missed Nicolas Cage and also Brandon Fraser, I'm glad both these guys are making a come back.
Brendan
@Jedimaster420 havent seen him in a while so🤷♂
What's Brandon Fraser doing these days?
Yah sadly Brenden is railroaded by child support from his ex so it screws stuff up plus he’s blacklisted. I hope he gets roles again
@@martymcfly5396 he is in Doom Patrol and will be playing as Firefly in the new Batgirl movie.
I love how Mr. Nicolas embraces his eccentricity
I love how he gave his winnings of $20,000 to an orphanage! It shows how big his heart is! What a great man!
Lady, you aint smart if you conclude that from one unverified talkshow story. How do you know it's not a one off act in a life of a selfishness? I like Cage but fangirls are stupid creatures
This man exudes cool
Thanks so much, I have learn to give more than to take
What a fantastic interview where we actually learn about the person. I hope more interviews hit this level of fun and intrigue. Nicolas Cage is a National Treasure.
I like what you did there
This!!! Well said
Nice to see Nicolas Cage in the spotlight again
Just watched this movie today.... if you're a 90s Nic Cage fan you will enjoy it. Very silly and lots of fun. Nice to see him having fun and not taking himself too seriously
I've been a fan since seeing him in Raising Arizona. He's quirky, funny and presents himself to be a genuine person.
Love that movie!
One of my all time favourite movies. For me his best film. He was made for that role. Loved his narration in the film too.
he called me the n-word In 2011 while I was working in a gas station
A unique personality...I love him
My son and I predicted he was going to be a star watching an unknown in Valley Girl
Shocked its been 14 years since he's done a network late night interview. You could do a 1 hour show in which you just ask him true or false stories and that would be the most watched show every week.
Nicholas Cage is interesting, and weird, and spontaneous. We need more of him.
He feels like a throwback to a distant era - and it was only 15-25 years ago.
Why weird.
Taylor
Nicolas Cage do this same thing Anthony Hopkins does: they are always themselves in virtually all their movies.
But for some weird reason, it works so damn well for both of them. And both have made movies in all genres.
Beautiful interview, Nicolas Gage is so real and natural, the way he speaks freely, the way he sits and relaxed in the interview,. obviously a peoples person.
Every time I watch one of his movies I can't stop thinking about how underrated he is or how unappreciated he is. The man is one of a kind. What a gem.
Nic Cage and Keanu Reeves playing action star brothers would be amazing.
good call
Surprised they've never worked together before.
I can see it
If 99% of celebrities told that gambling/orphanage donation story I'd roll my eyes and label it BS. but when Nic Cage says it I believe every word
Such an apt title for his movie, nick cage definitely has massive talent, he's one of a kind
I love Nicolas Cage. He is simply the best actor. He is extremely smart, well-intended and down to earth. We need more new movies with him!
He comes out with like 2 new movies every year at least
He's not the best actor, lol. But he's above average.
Slow down
Did you watch him beat the life out those animatronics? My favorite is him as Seth Plate and Moonstruck
Love him but down to earth? He's a Coppola they don't live in the same earth
It’s really great to see Nic Cage back on top of things and looking in such good form! He genuinely seems v.happy and entirely enthusiastic about current and future projects.
Some call him a little weird, but that’s what we love about him; all of his stories and it makes him an interesting individual.
Thanks
He is so unintentionally funny! I mean his life experiences is so effing rich! Gosh I love hearing him tell us about his life lmao.
“What Happened…And It’s Odd” should be the title of his memoir. Cage is a national treasure.
I see what you did there
When Nick Cage had his house in Bath in the UK, a young lady dropped a note through his letterbox, asking if he would switch on the city's Christmas lights. He could have given a hundred excuses as to why he couldn't (or wouldn't) but he accepted the offer and performed the ceremony. He went down a storm...
this is the first time I read about him living in Bath, shame I didn't know at the time as I moved from Bath to Bristol in 2007 and Google says he was there circa 2009, I would definitely have gone had I been living in Bath at the time, saw The Queen (not the band) there a couple of times !
I demand a Cage / GOLDBLUM crossover 😀
That would be quite magnificent!
The world cant handle that
the multiverse cannot contain the charisma of these two... it would be to fantastical to ever exist
Have to say I could not agree more, the banter, jokes, style and humility off the scale. Well done you for calling out 👍🏾
