Get them up and off ground level immediately it's their smallness and the way they move and sound that interests it. In this case it's probably the dogs that interested it. Winter is coming, predators have an instinct to bulk up pre-winter especially.
You could have just walked away and retreated, chances are there were cubs nearby that she was protecting. Ignorance led to the unnecessary killing of this cat.
Looks and sounds like a Karen. Ignored the warning and then had the cat killed. Because they decided to be cautious. Like that means anything when it's a potential hungry cat roaming the bike trails.
A couple of decades ago in the hills nearby my home a mountain lion attacked a fully grown man riding a mountain bike and killed him then turned on two women mountain bikers who just happened to ride up the trail from the opposite direction. One hit scratched up pretty bad but got away. They notified the park rangers who tracked the lion back to its den where the man's remains were found about half a mile from where the man was attacked. Walking towards a mountain lion after being warned, especially with small children is about as dumb as dumb gets.
He really didnt have to shoot the mountain lion unless it attacked him. The fact he didnt scare it means he shoulda got everyone out of the area and requested backup and animal control
Yeah but that cat could have attacked in a flash and then shooting would not have been an easy option. It could have easily killed the entire family in literally a minute. Easily. At a zoo once, I pushed a huge tire hanging from a rope in a cage. The lion jumped upside down and with razor claws jumped on the back of the 200lb. tire and shredded it like it was it's toy. No man stands a chance.
@@Ginette688 I have been hiking in the Rockies all my life. Tip: If ever being stalked by a predator w little kids w you, put the kids onto the shoulders of the adult. Get them up and off ground level immediately it's their smallness and the way they move and sound that interests it. In this case it's probably the dogs that interested it. Winter is coming, predators have an instinct to bulk up pre-winter especially.
Or take the warning to heart and walk back to your car?
You could have just walked away and retreated, chances are there were cubs nearby that she was protecting. Ignorance led to the unnecessary killing of this cat.
So they kept going towards danger after being warned.
I hope it wasn’t a mama giving a warning. Didn’t look like she was attacking, she was warning. I hope they went and checked for babies!
Looks and sounds like a Karen. Ignored the warning and then had the cat killed. Because they decided to be cautious. Like that means anything when it's a potential hungry cat roaming the bike trails.
Anything wrong with the mountain lion? Hell, it’s dead.
Don’t want to be to harsh on the cop, but who knows some of them are trigger happy😞😞😞
I walk that trail every day with my dog. It’s right in my back yard , off my property. Bummer ! I was not at all happy they shot it .
Until it ate your dog then you would've wished they killed it

People move into areas with wildlife and then complain about the wildlife smh.
Certain people do that
It was likely after the dogs. Very sad ending.
They should have left, not keep walking in mountain lion direction.
So are they gonna shoot every mountain lion they see now? Insane.
The kind of risk that isn’t worth taking.
Even the dogs knew to mind their own business. Stay out of its home.
Ignorance killed the mountain lion.
Ginette May be so but that’s the same behavior they do when they are protecting cubs or food they buried close by.
Dumbasses killed the mountain lion
@@Ginette688 territorial is pretty normal
@@Ginette688 I have been hiking in the Rockies all my life. I can’t even count on my hands how many times I have been chased off a trail by not only mountain lions, but also bobcats believe it or not. This is completely normal behavior and cats will become territorial and offensive if they are trying to protect their cubs or a kill. And let’s not forget, they are Wildcats that are fairly large animals. Not all of them are afraid of humans and noises. Especially if they are accustomed two people and noises from nearby hikers campers etc. etc. these are not domestic cats. They are wild animals. Most are timid and will runoff. But not if they have a purpose. It is crystal clear from this video that the cat was just trying to Get the hikers to back off. Most likely because there were Cubs nearby.
How do you know it was due to ignorance? Who’s to say that that lady wasn’t on her way back to the car? If that was the case, then it would be logical to proceed with caution. It would not make sense to turn around and walk further away from their car deeper into the forest.
I'm sorry but that wasn't the right choice
I arrest the parents for reckless endangerment of there two children and That I carry pepper spray for these reasons when I walk a trail
The cat isn't in the humans way
The humans are in the cat way.
Prolly had Cubs around
@@ITRUTH213 probably but it would have been more aggressive if the cubs were close by
Stop it, y'all would be whining had the cat snatched the baby out of the stroller and you'd be calling for the cats head. Cat was in the humans way, cats aren't self aware, otherwise they'd be trying to communicate with us. Humans have domain over all creatures big or small. It's just the way the real world is. If you don't like it go feed yourself to a mountain lion and get out of my way. I wonder if animals in the wild complain when they have to put down a pesky predator. Damn you ppl make me sick.
Absolutely. Invaded its habitat and got it killed by an incompetent deputy
says who?
This lady is why we need a warning on coffee
If that cougar had ACTUALLY been stalking them, they never would have seen it! It died needlessly!
When lions show no fear towards humans they need to be killed for the good of humanity
@@bellicose2037 that's what I said of your mom.
I'm Gobsmacked how naive those parents were 😱 A mountain lion can jump 16 to 20 feet high from a crouched position and a distance of over 40 feet while chasing prey. They were darned lucky they weren't attacked.
I see no reason why the animal had to be shot
Because there was a high likelihood that it was going to eat a person! 👍
But hat officer could have brought along a tranquilizer gun. .
These people are aggravating. They put their family in danger
NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON A BIG CAT!
Huh
@@JohnWickkkk you can’t turn your back from those typa animals their sneaky af can come at you like a flash you see how the guy in the video walking backwards? That an example of what the lady comment says
Turning your back on a preditor. Dumb. It gives the preditor a prey instinct. They were warned, and kept going. Then called for help, leading to the cats demise. My thought is it may have had cubs in the area. No way of knowing for certain, but I would not have kept going once warned. The cat would have eventually gone on its way.
@@stonergee420 im that lady lol yes if you wanna get claws to the back try running
Wait… so they need to study if there’s something wrong with the animal for doing what an animal does?
Makes sense.
Not once did they think the Mountain Lion had family too? Really?
Once upon a time Humans went to the mountains, stalked naturally by mountain lion. The mountain lion then was killed for being naturally an predatory animal in its own environment. The mountain lion now is being studied for being hungry and naturally a predator. I can’t with these people!
There were thousand ways that the lion's life could have been saved.
So they kill the cat due to ignorant human choices.
they still continue after they were told mountain lion
Only the privileged ones keep walking in ...!

A mountain lion gets killed due to the irresponsible behavior of humans. Totally reprehensible, repulsive and sickening indeed.
They were told there is a mountain lion in the area. They kept going. Now the animal in his habitat is dead. Great.
"We just started being very cautious" as you kept walking your babies and dogs toward a LION. Everyone is not smart. You could have just turned back and the lion could still be alive having never met you. Something's wrong with humanity.
People need to stop building homes in wilderness. Leave a little land for the wild animals but people are greedy and don't give a flying fuck about anything but themselves.
Dayum a lion getting kill in its own home smh
Title should read: selfish ignorant mom kills mountain lion to go on her walk..entitled people no respect.
Now some cubs have no mother
Lots of people judging the family for continuing the trail. Maybe they were going in the direction of their car or home. And F that mountain lion! It's a PREDATOR! We don't need mountain lions, we have pictures

Wow! And to think I have jogged that trail a million times sometimes at night aswell!
PLEASE don't depend on others for your safety. There are many people who have DIED waiting for the police to show up. and they got told a big kitty was on the same path yet they decide to march right in with a toddler . social media fame that is what this is
City slickers! SMH
If someone warned them of the mountain lion, why would they keep going with pets and a toddlers??? How damn dumb can you be. And not them studying the animal to see if something wrong with it, like what? Like humans casually carefree walking where they live?? Wild animals can’t have nothing to themselves cause humans are hunting and walking and riding bikes and creating roads in areas that really could be left alone it’s enough space to walk and hike in residential areas
Dude, chill out. Ever think of the possibility that they may have been on their way back to their car? If that was the case, then it wouldn’t make sense for them to turn around and walk further away from their car deeper into the forest. You just assumed that when she was warned she continued her hike. How do you know she wasn’t on our way back?
That mountain lion didn't go crazy, that mountain lion went mountain lion. Ya stepped into its path, whatchu think was gonna happen?.. smh.
It's path?
It doesn't own the wilderness.
The whole situation was wrong. They could prevented killing that cat. Lion had cubs to take care of I’m sure
They are not in our space….we are in theirs ! It’s really sad !
If making yourself larger, throwing rocks doesn't help, and you have no gun, Let that German Shepard go after it and fight while you leave the scene. Better be your fur baby than you. Cat was hungry and was not letting up. Thank god for the sheriff. Family was warned though by the Bikers. I would NOT have gone ahead, I would have gotten out of there.
Caution would have been to not continue.
Well humans have domain over all of the creatures, its just the way the real world is. You can't change that. If you don't like it go feed yourself to a local mountain lion and call it retribution for the mountain lion in this video. Otherwise get out of my way liberal weakling.
Hello Annie how are you doing today.
