  • Had some fun on my server, getting back into dogfights, much rust. Thanks to Mantis and Titus for flying the F-14A together. Hope to have a few more videos of other planes we fought out! Enjoy

That was a bit of a confusing fight to watch I can't lie. I know you where getting back into the mirage but where you also handy caping yourself? Or just keeping the fight realistic? (such as staying fast).
It's also a shame that you didn't or didn't know how to use the radar, radar gun sight, or radar magic slave as that would of cleaned up your dog fights much quicker if it is allowed!
But overall an interesting video 🙂

Against people that practice with me, getting slow in a Mirage is same as dead. That slow one circle stuff works against people that also fly slow and pull and pull and pull. If I stayed at 220-250 kts in a mirage against these F14s, theyd just go to 320 and toy with me.

@@FSX404 I do agree with that a slow mirage is a dead mirage but I would really only say on the deck that is a big issue as dumping the nose to get speed is still an option to play with at height so a more aggressive play style can be done at altitude and then transition into this higher speed play style. But that's solely my opinion on using the mirage when I dog fights.
Another question I had was what was the rules of engagement guns only or fox 2s are allowed at a certain circumstance or just full fledged fox 2 fight?
As a guns only fight I would expect the two circle to be used against the mirage to out rate the mirage but in a fox 2 fight I would expect the tomcat to attempt to jam the wez which would mean getting slow in a mirage may be beneficial (in some cases) or like you showed countless times how the amazing AoA capabilities of the mirage can pull the enemy into the hud to achieve a possible fox 2 shot.
I'm glad that you didn't just do what I'm thinking as you would have been able to wrap up those fights extremely quickly and it would of lead to boring fights and nobody learning anything except aim and fire definitely gave those guys you where practicing with more options to attempt and practice new tactics instead of just laying them.
