This is my first video recorded using my new RTX 4090. This is probably the most smoother Dcs video i've ever seen. Transfer an F14 Tomcat under the rain. Ultra settings 4K + true 60 Fps.

Rain physics are difficult to get right, some games like this one don't focus on these minor details, but i'm sure some mods out there do a good job of it?

I have switched to doing almost all of my flying in VR but I do miss the eye candy sometimes.

The first cruise when I was on the Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 was a North Atlantic NATO exercise in the North Sea. My first port of call was Wilhelmshaven Germany. It looked like this (with the exception of the skeletons) every single day. I never saw sunlight the entire cruise. Windy, rainy, just miserable weather. This video captures that perfectly. I got flashbacks lol! Nice job on the video. Looks fantastic.

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to fly the F14 thanks to having the movie Top Gun memorized from watching it literally 50 times. I might just do this...
My favorite thing as a kid was to read these simulator manuals. Half of the immersion in these sims came from the manuals, you felt like you were really part of the military and reading these deep technical manuals and learning actual procedures and what not.

i wish i could play it better but lacking time and a teacher to help me understand things better puts pay to that sadly. would love to back seat in a jet like this
To be fair, game was born much earlier, in 1995. It is "Flanker SU27" in its origin.
there are lot of nice and helpful ppl in the community. finding someone who willing to help you out is the easiest i'd say. this is not a game, this is THE simulator. you need commitment to learn everything because everything works as in irl. i think the Tomcat is still the most complex and the best module for DCS. It's not cheap but tbh i rather buy this if i could even if i wouldn't commit to learn it, than 2 triple A trash games what we get nowadays. and they do sales and also (idk if it's still the case but) you can try out every module for 2 weeks every 6 months. also supposedly a 2 seater F-15 coming too. go for it. it's an amazing experience. hashtagsadlynotsponsored (:
i bought it, the f18.f14, and f15... played by myself for about 2 hours then havent picked it up again since. just overwhelming., but an amazing game

The clouds in DCS are almost perfect. It's by far the best clouds I've seen (that you can fly through/around) and just has a graphics generation to go before they're rock solid with higher resolution noise/turbulence and less/zero artifacts from the raymarching. They look really good as long as you just don't focus on them.
microsoft flight sim 2020 clouds are better

@@phreak761 DCS only gives you 5% of the world to fly over. They both have their place. Taking a Concorde into Kai Tak is at least as nerve-wracking as merging with a Flanker.

That's pretty impressive. The game looks photorealistic and can also model a skeleton walking, although that still looks like it needs some work.

A Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier rarely seen. Satellite pictures and reconnaissance missions have showed proof that the vessel is operated by sentient human skeletal systems. Planes with skull marks are seen taking off the vessel whenever it is sighted, and occasionally they fly alongside Air Force vessels. It has not shown any hostile behaviour throughout it's discovery and observation, but it could prove a large threat if it does. Currently it is unknown whether the vessel docks somewhere or remains always at sea and any intentions, powers, strengths or weaknesses.
