Any requests for next week's lesson, please post below (I can cover pencil drawing, ink drawing, charcoal. pastel pencils, coloured pencils, pen & watercolour). Any subject matter.
I propose an urban landscape in ink with some splashes of watercolor :)
Muchas gracias! Art Tutor siempre tan generoso! Me encantaría ver paisaje en lápiz pastel. Saludos!
A cat in charcoal or graphite? I would like that :) Thank you, wonderful class as always. Stay safe.
I’d love to see a pencil drawing of an Australian eucalyptus tree
I think we should do a pencil ✏️ drawing swing different shading skills of animals; maybe a dolphin 🐬 or an elephant 🐘
That's it. I've been looking at and enjoying tutorial videos of colored pencil art for a good while, for techniques, experience, practical suggestions, clarity, and simplicity. And a little humor. But that empathic awareness of the cognitive place of the untrained beginner, that the competent artist left behind years ago, that is what marks a gifted teacher.
I have found my teacher. Subscribing today.
I am just a colorist, beginner, this lesson taught me more about blending than any I have seen. Thank you. You’ve made me feel like I can learn and apply. I am 75, so who knows maybe I can be an artist!! I will follow you. Thanks
For the life of me i have no idea why your channel isn't off the charts!!
You're a brilliant artist and a great teacher
I have taken dozens of drawing classes, and I have never heard the “straight lines” tip. thank you!
That is awesome!!! I would like to see a beautiful tree pencil drawing. Step by step. 👍
The color selection process-worth it’s weight in gold. I’m guilty of over-purchasing, and that just leads to distraction. I can see this being a foundational change for me. Thank you!
I've gone with the Faber Castel 60 piece Polychromos set but the first thing I've done is a manual colour chart on a whole A4 sheet, with all the numbers and names. I won't lie, I like having a larger set and I don't mind spending a little extra since I don't spend money on entertainment very much (like going to pubs often). Anyway, the manual colour chart makes it much more easier to set my needed colours aside rather than looking at the wooden texture of the pencil.
This was extremely educational. Will be delighted to follow your next videos. Thank you!
Thank you for excellent steps and instructions. Very easy to follow for beginners in color pencils
Thank you so much! This is one of the best tutorials I've seen because you talk your way through all your choices and actions. I honestly think I can do this, and I'm just a beginner at art. Amazing work.
This is a great lesson!
Thank you for gifting us such a great lesson. The part on choosing colors in particular is gold.
Thank you for these. It helps to have something to do and keeps my creative juices flowing.
Distinctive and professional, my friend ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thanks so much for this. Will try it over the looming weekend of staying at home!
Your artwork is amazing!!! Thanks so much for these wonderful tutorials. I would love to see a tutorial using watercolor pencils!! 🥰
Same!
2 years late😂 ---- Just stopped by this channel, thank you so much. You show us step by step and it makes it soo much easier!
Thanks much for the brilliant tutorial & I will definitely have a go on it! I am a beginner & just bought a set of Caran d’ache water soluble pastel obsessed by their vibrant colors! I would love for a tutorial step by step for the tips & techniques for it! Thanks very much 🙏🙏
What an excellent detailed lesson! Thank you so much for all your efforts in sharing your knowledge with us! 🙏❤️
Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent to us all at this time. I will happily accept anything you decide with joy and gratefulmess.
This is so realistic 👏 🖍️ great job 👍 💯
Thank you very much for the wonderful lessons , I enjoyed drawing and learn about all the colours I needed for the lemon edge.
You are a great teacher and gave me a lot of confidence with my art skills so I will do one of your lessons every day!
Have a great weekend !
Brilliant! I loved this and I am so happy I found your channel!
Enjoyed that a lot...never really thought you could get anything that good just from crayons. Cheers!!
Terrific tutorial. Loved the result! Thanks for the excellent narration, makes a big difference. I have some oranges so will try this! I have some good toned paper that I will try for colored pencil, too.
What a super video! I had no idea that Art Tutor was closing down and am sad to hear this. However, I am absolutely delighted to find you on here. Thank you for these fantastic tutorials... among the best on the Internet that I have come across!
I think this is the best tutorial for beginners ever! I love the step by step. I'm new and really want to try realism with food....I went and bought $10" in alcohol markers, then realized I can't get this realistic effect with markers. So now I have to save up for some Faber colored pencils lol.
Thank you so much for this tutorial as I had lost my nerve about starting a new drawing and now I will try the tangerine segment!
Thank you for the detailed demonstration. Always enjoy and appreciate your tutorials.
Excellent! I enjoyed watching the lime come to form as if it was actually a real piece of fruit. I will give this a try, myself, with the confidence of your lead. Thank you for sharing. You have a pleasant voice to teach with, and that is good to keep attention on the drawing!
I never knew you could do so much with coloured ✏! The lime looks really juicy!
Excellent lesson and explanation! thank you!
It’s going to take a while before the smell and taste leaves me! That is stunning.
Love to see one on pastels, especially pastel sticks, or charcoal...though tend to avoid charcoal as I make such a mess! Bit of a contradiction there as I make a fine mess with pastels...
John Rigg I’ll do some pastel pencil and charcoal lessons in the next couple of weeks (charcoal next week)
@@phildavies6274 Fantastic. I'll be watching!
Thank you very much for the lesson. I learnt a lot. I always say I'm not a drawer but now I think will try.
Thank you. Your thinking out loud process was MOST interesting & informative.
Terrific lesson. Can't wait to try.
Just found your channel, not sure how ive never come across it before but im glad i did
This was SUCH an awesome video! It was so detailed, and covered all the aspects I could've hoped for (the drawing part was super helpful). I'm a painter and I've never used colored pencils for realism like this before. I was surprised that you didn't grab any reds to desaturate the green, and it turned out beautifully. I think it's great that you recommend such limited supplies. I can't wait to try this now. Thanks so much!
this is amazing. This video makes me believe that I can do this with fruit or any other drawing. Thank you.
WoW!!! Tfs! Be well! ✨👍🏾
It's so nice 👍 I like your teaching skill
you really explained it well and taught me something new, thank you!
BRILLIANT! I learned a great deal. Your instruction is spot on. THANK YOU.
Very good work!..
Wonderful lesson.... thank you very much 😁
Thanks Phil- I’m hooked! 🤨
Wish you would put more colored pencil work online. It's some of the best I have seen.
Awesome tutorial ! 🎨😉👍🏼 I learned a lot about color pencils ✏️ and how to use them great medium!
Awesome, I’m definitely going to try this, I’m loving your tutorials
thank you for sharing this. I have followed your tutorial and posted to Facebook. Not sure how to post to the Isolation Art Challenge page but hey ho. thank you again loved the tutorial :-)
Superb tutorial, love the way you explain everything. Excellent. I will definitely be given this a go. Thank you
Awesome You helped me a lot with detailed explanations
Very good drawing lesson
Co asm I see whole class thank you 😊 👏 🙌
enjoyed this tutorial I still had heaps of trouble picking the colours but think I did ok in the end. Thank you
yes Sir ... i enjoy a very nice demo ! you make it easy to do but hard if seen . great !
I love this channel.
My lime looks way different but this was my favorite tutorial I have found even though mine isn't realistic really it came out so neat!
Awesome lesson, thank you!
What a great lesson, so smooth e simply highly detailed. I loved it. Subscribed and I'll watch every single video 👍👍👍
Thanks 🫂
Nice👍
I highly respect realism in color pencil, but I am wondering if there are any artists who have successfully used color pencil in a more impressionistic way. I LOVE color pencil, but have no desire to do realism. That being said, I enjoyed this tutorial and learned many helpful things.
This is terrific! Thank you
Great tutorial. Thank you
Wonderful
Thank you so much
Fantastic content thanks
Wow so beautiful
Keep it up 😊 😊 👏 👏 the
Nice tutorial, lots of good advice.
I think the white gel pen is not archivable - so if you are selling your work, it might not be the best solution. What do you think about using white gouache paint.
I trust you'll have more people watching your videos soon
To get more fine lines such as hair in a portrait is it any use to use pens with the coloured pencils? How are people gettinf such a refined result with just the coloured pencils. As well if you sketch first in pencil then its hard to remove the grey.
Is it any use using pen with coloured pencils such as for hair. So far difficulty colouring pencil sketches, blending skin tone and details such as hair.
Bro ur art is in my art textbook
I LOVE IT LIKE OMG LIKE YES
I think we should do a pencil drawing using different shading skills of animals; maybe a dolphin 🐬 or elephant 🐘
Thank you so much
So nice
There are electric sharpeners with auto stop... In case you didn't know. They actually eat a pencil less than a manual one. They are expensive tho..
To make good art with colored pencils you need red blue yellow white and black (the primary colors) you also need practice
Your are awesome !
I like to watch him at X2 . Saves time. 😆
New sub
Some people do need all those pencils of different colors because they are not skilled at understanding color theory and how to make colors from other colors. So just because you can make every color you need with 24 pencils doesn't mean that everyone else can and that would mean that yes they do need those pencils.
Boats!! Yachts, fishing boats, speed boats etc please
Asante sana (Swahili for THANK YOU VERY MUCH!)
Amei o Tito mas seria bom se tivesse legenda. Sou brasileira.
Kitty at 31:42
very nice sir.what kind or brand of drawing paper did you used for this?thank you
What if you don't have gray paper? Can you just use a normal pencil and normal paper?
This fruit draw a shading of drawing is very interesting and even I tried I it was it does it record but it was very easy
Thanks for share, but why my result different? :(
What sketch book did you use!
what color pencil brand do u use ??
So Good!!!! No I just need more colors xd, but thanks
My god please help me!! White doesn't show up on my paper and don't think my pencils are goif enough D:
WHAT COLORED PENCILS ARE YOU USING ? FC POLYCHROMOS ?
yes polychromos
*at least I’m a real person commenting, not a bot :)*
Pencil drawings please
Nice! But the brand isn't completely irrelevant. The typical Caran d'Ache pencils are watercolour and will never produce the kind o vibrant colours oil/wax based ones do (at least not using the same techniques). Trust me, I have years of frustration trying to understand why my drawings always looked washed out and not like the ones in the drawing books (the internet is such a great thing!).
I was talking about traditional coloured pencils (wax/oil based) rather than water-soluble pencils, which I consider I different medium.
@@PhilDaviesArtist Certainly, but it doesn't hurt mentioning it, since there may be many beginners watching. When it comes to Cd'A, in my country, I've never seen other than the watercolor ones. Until very recently I wasn't even aware they also made wax/oil pencils. But my alert was mostly for people who may not even be aware that the techniques are very different and working dry with watercolor pencils will never resemble what you did here. As a beginner it happened to me, I wasn't aware of the difference and it resulted in a lot of frustration.
XofHope that’s a fair point, thank you
@@XofHope so what's the best pencils???I need help D:
@@devconnors9462 It really depends on what you want to achieve. When coloured pencils are mentioned it's usually the oil/wax based ones, like in this tutorial. I can't help with which brands are best because I don't actually use them. Water colour pencils usually produce softer, less vibrant pieces because they're meant to be watered down, just like watercolours. They can produce something more ethereal, more painterly and less realistic than the good wax based ones. I really don't know how else to explain it... search for watercolour pencil drawings and tutorials and see the difference yourself.
Can you please put the colours number
