There was something on the news not so long ago, where the NYMR was saying that the price of coal had shot up as they no longer had access to a UK mine and had to use imported coal - can't remember the figures quoted but it was one heck of an increase.
Yes I think thats part of the problem. I doubt they would admit it, but cancelling events like The War Weekend have probably cost them a lot of business. Not sure if you had ever been, but that event was massive at the Pickering end of the line, and they just cancelled it based on some Woke Ideology.
Great vid. Have you done any filming in Frank Sutcliffes museum/gallery? I wan't to visit it on my next visit and a visual on it for recognition would be great.

@@marktaylor9579 The one that was in front of the lighthouse was a different shape. We used to call it the Darlik. They smashed it off when they put the new bridge on the pier, which if memory serves me correct was the year before covid arrived.

At 3:21, one of the guards told me that a lot of passengers are using tickets valid for twelve months that were bought last year, hence no revenue this year. That is having an adverse effect on an already dodgy financial situation.
I think the Railway started doing the season tickets as a way to get people on the railway that would t go because the prices were to high. It’s a great deal that they are offering this year at £45 per ticket.
With the pier me and friend saw the coast guards with sledge hammers they must have been checking who knows what maybe for gaps under the rock but this was about7-8 days ago but the cracks came from the coast guard checking something👍
Hello i wonder when the tourist protests will start in Whitby like the ones they are having in Spain and the Canary Islands ,there have been some wags in London already spreading the word down there in the smoke. Have your local council increased the council tax for second homes yet ,i know up in Northumberland they have doubled the amount for second homes ,i dont think it will make much difference as if they can afford a second home the extra council tax they have to pay wont bother them .Keep the vids coming love them
Could it be that the protests in Spain are just 1 person and a can of spray paint ? WRT The Second Home Council tax, Ill bet my last pound that there will be a loophole and no-one will have to pay.
