There are sort of… what.. 5 open world on top of each other? Different sizes, Lower Continent (Limgrave/Weeping/Caelid), Altus, Deeproot, Mountaintops of the Giants, and Nokron/Nokstella/Ancestral Woods/Siofra (all kind of one)
If you're talking about Dark Souls 1, no to the first and yes to the second but only for a few points. The only real tedious part of DS1 is Sen's Fortress and specifically the fight against Bed of Chaos.
To all of you (besides Tulok) who replied, I've played and consumed content of many dark souls games, Elden Ring is the easiest one by comparison so if its your favorite or starting point, the others will feel way clunkier and harder because they are simply older games. You guys need to look with your eyes and acknowledge that A: this was mostly a joke and a big part OF THE VIDEO and B: Tulok made a joke agreement, it is NOT that deep guys
I love that the intro is just "What if we made an Elden Ring run, but it was extremely boring and excruciating to play", lol. Like c'mon everything else I get but the horse on the overworld is just silly.
I can't stand the people who are like "You aren't playing the game right, if you don't ignore a bunch of mechanics the game introduced, and the developers clearly expected you to use!!". There's nothing wrong with doing challenge runs where you willingly make things harder for yourself, but telling others they're playing the game wrong because they don't play like you just means you're a huge prick.
Nobody seriously says that. The serious thing that we say is you aren't good, nor should you be proud about beating the game with stuff that makes the game stupidly easy.
But also, things like spirit ash are objectively bad for a souls game. Souls games are meant to be hard, players being able to cut its difficulty in half with spirit ashes alone is stupid. And it's pretty disrespectful to us players that had to actually WORK for a win in previous souls games.
@@maxdrags3115 if you feel disrespected by how other people play video games, there's a very simple cure I can recommend you: - get up from your computer chair - do some warm up stretches - go for a nice jog around the block - go around the block again in a nice slow walk to cool down, smell some flowers along the way maybe
@@maxdrags3115 So, what you're saying is spirit ashes are fine while physicks and melee are not. There's nothing difficult about winning Elden Ring with a melee weapon, the STRONGEST non-melee build is still several tiers below a base melee weapon. Souls games are also not hard, they're not meant to be hard either. They're about learning. If you pay attention and actually think, you succeed. That's why Elden Ring isn't a souls game, because it takes the fundamental core of Dark Souls' design and throws it out. It intentionally separates itself from the Souls series by design. Dark Souls is punishing but fair, Elden Ring doesn't care about fairness and expects you to just cope with its abuse.

Theres a few on PC that cut out the open world I think
My only problem with this video is the assertion that Ornstien is a top. He's a cat boy. That man was receiving the sword-spear
I felt the need to comment for one reason alone: it is *technically* possible to knock Margit off the cliff. It's definitely a glitch, and it's very difficult to get it to happen, but it's possible
Ahhh! Unexpected greenscreen!
Surprise
I’m constantly making that Greg Jennings reference and no one ever gets it. This is why you’re cool. “He broke his f***ing leg!!”
Fia's Pumpkinhead champion is a champion to the Deathbed companion. So. Pumpkinbed. I have spoken.
“However, I am not going to walk all the way to the top of a volcano. That’s Halfling shit.” This totally cracked me up!
Also, if you use the beast repellant torch in your offhand, basilisks will ignore you.
And yay, I watched rocky and bowinkle as a kid! :D
Watching this video while watching you stream lol. Love your videos and content.
WHAT??? DARK SOULS WAS UNCOMFORTABLY HARD AND TEDIOUS AT A LOT OF POINTS?????????
I would never say that. You might say that. And I might agree with it. But I wouldn't say it.
If you're talking about Dark Souls 1, no to the first and yes to the second but only for a few points. The only real tedious part of DS1 is Sen's Fortress and specifically the fight against Bed of Chaos.
thanks the real Tulok! (Not the fake one this time!)@@tulokthebarbrarian2033
No, it wasn't. Because the games were designed around not having these mechanics
Was not expecting the ZZ Top reference
I came to check the channel and saw I wasn’t subscribed anymore. Had to resubscribe
@@maxdrags3115"Nobody seriously says that." Guy who is about to say that
@@maxdrags3115 if you feel disrespected by how other people play video games, there's a very simple cure I can recommend you:
- get up from your computer chair
- do some warm up stretches
- go for a nice jog around the block
- go around the block again in a nice slow walk to cool down, smell some flowers along the way maybe
