Van Tour of Nomad Living in a Tiger 4x4 Van

- Опубліковано 5 вер 2019
- Today we meet my friend Marshall who has one of my all-time favorite rigs--if I win the lottery, I'd place an order on one of these the next day!! It is a Tiger Bengal made by ProVan. It begins with a 4x4 1-ton truck from either Ford, Chevy or Ram that is cab and chassis only. It is delivered to the Tiger plant and they build the RV portion onto the back, exactly to your specifications. You get it just how you like it. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this thing and would buy one in a heartbeat if I could afford it!

Thanks for watching!
One thing I love about Bob’s interviews is he is equally respectful no matter how simple or fancy the vehicle. He always finds a compliment. Every person who is interviewed feels good afterwards!
that's such a good trait in somebody
Couldn't agree more!
So Polite Even In Silence! Thats Intentional Spirit To Spirit Nurture as First Value In Real Time! This Is Actual Healthy Social Mental Health on Purpose! This Should Be Everyones First Social Value!👍🇺🇸🌍🌍🌏 Thank You Bob Wells! and Support Staff!☺✌🌈
So true! That's why I enjoy watching him interview people
Bob is a consummate gentleman!
Through this tough interview, you have shown, once again Bob, what a great communicator you are.
You can say that again. Bob is such a gentleman.
The guy he is talking to is so one worded answers. Not real informative
I don't see $100,000 worth of rv here. Maybe truck engine etc but I sure wouldn't want to have to live in it.
Bet he is the life of the party
We humans browsing youtube are so lucky to have a person like you Bob. Thank you! This is the stuff I watch instead of typical television.
You tube is the new TV and Bobs ratings would be great!
Bob, Bob, Bob, if you didn't give so much away, you could have a rig like that. That said, you're a wise man not to have chosen the treasures here on earth, because so many souls would be lost without you. Thank you for all you do.
All it take these days to get a new RV is create drama or tragedy and just start a Gofundme. Most likey a subscriber will creaté one for you. Just set back and watch the money roll on
Whoa, Couldn't agree more !!!!!!
Safe, happy & blessed travel, hiking on your all journey,,,,
Yes i had to reply, bob does great work
ha ha well said :)
456t123g ... so well put :) I couldn't agree more ! Thanks for taking the words out of my mouth (cute, sweet, calm lol)
Although I have no desire to live this lifestyle, I can’t help but enjoy these videos and seeing how others live. These people clearly have a passion and I love listening to them talk about their adventures.
Same
Bob, I love how you interview such a diverse demographic of folks in the mobile lifestyle. You have something for everyone to resonate with.
He’s such an engineer. Very analytical
Thank you, Bob. You have interviewed such an eccentric and introverted gentleman. With your Great Kindness, I'm feeling You just Made His Day! Love and Respect from Australia.
Even though without knowledge about this man's rig, being complimentary will go part of the way, but the gentleman had to keep correcting Bob on specifics.
I appreciate that Marshall points out things like the awning window, keeping the rain out...no matter what kind of rig one has you can learn from pointers like that.
They work great in houses and cabins as well. You can find them described as "casement windows" as well.
Bob's not my uncle but I love him like one
I am binge watching your videos. It is so inspiring to see so much diversity in the people you interview and their home set-up. You are a lovely human being, Bob. ❤️
“Those deluted people”....hahahahaha! Bob you’re killing me!!! Another great interview...Well done you!
You Bob have won the lottery more than once go get one we all know you deserve it and more.
I'm happy he is happy. The cost is probably not for me, but as he said it's not too unreasonable if you sell a house to become mobile.
Your money, your life and he certainly appreciated every detail. Spot on.
My Dad's Ford Diesel had 314K on it when he passed away. My Dodge Cummins has 246K, My Son's has 335K. A mechanic friend just got in a Dodge Cummins which finally broke at 1M,200K. Haven't heard of any Chevy's going that far, especially gas ones.
True. I have lots of equipment, tractor, truck, etc. Diesel has lots of advantages when towing. Mpg. Torque. Longetivity. Engine braking. And not having to let off the throttle in fear. - I’d have to see a spreadsheet of his reasons for the 6.0 gas. They are great gas v8 in something like a van that isn’t towing but needs a little beef. Economical to replace. Like a FedEx driver rig. But a bulky camper bed and a trailer...nah. You want diesel. But, I have to say, this guy may have analyzed the miles he will actually drive and crunched the numbers and went off of miles he will use and replacement cost. And he kinda sounded like he doesn’t like power. He said he likes small cars and bikes. So, I bet he tows at slow conservative speeds. And the biggest thing that DOES make sense about avoiding diesels right now....the emission system are ultra expensive to repair and it kills the fuel mileage. I can’t argue with that. Otherwise, I’m full in on the diesel for towing policy.
Forgive me for going off topic but thank you, Bob, for reinforcing the idea that just about anyone can build their own rig. As nice as this RV is, the satisfaction that comes from building one's own home on wheels is, for me, worth more than any luxury coach a bag of cash can buy. Another paradigm shift for me thanks to Bob Wells (and Cody).
I certainly understand why you would consider the ultimate rig! I love it. I couldn't afford one but I love it just the same.
Just started watching alittle while ago you Bob are such a sweetheart no matter how full someone is of their self you always treat them with kindness and respect. Thanks for your patience and integrity.
So cute to see bob have rig envy!
Chris G. That really threw me! What about the ‘cheap’ in RV Living? This is anything but.
But, it's still someone's home on wheels & Bob show's all kinds of nomad's homes.😊
The best tip I got out of this was the soft foam below, hard foam on top - for the bed! Great tip. I've been doing it all wrong. Great van! Bob, thanks for the tour!
It totally trips me out how smart, and how rich some people are. Great rig, great tour Bob, one of the very best.
You are such a talented, patient and witty interviewer! What a complete blessing 💛
Thanks Bob, I sure appreciate the spectrum of grandma stories living "ghetto" making do style in cars to high end techie engineering wizards ideas of the best...it really helps me understand what and how I want my future to be hopefully without making tons of expensive decisions I really didn't want or outright mistakes. There are so many choices and information, specs, opinions and visual tours are SOOOOo helpful. Thank you!
I love my RAM I built it out myself and I couldn’t be happier. I guess this fits his needs. Some guys drool over these puppies, I don’t see it. Great interview Bob.
Agreed. My promaster build only cost $25k and it looks better than this!!
@@runnindownadream8106 I have a rare EcoDiesel 3.0L V-6 engine with a tow package (special button can be pushed to activate it). I just got back from a 12,000 mile trip over two months and averaged 21/mpg so the eco part is right. I'm sure it can tow a trailer like that easy, though I've never towed anything. A diesel has great torque, but slow acceleration, which is a good thing when your van is filled with all kind of stuff. Anyway, I'm sure if you got at least a RamPromaster 2500, towing wouldn't be a problem; a 3500 would definitely do the job.
Thank You Bob!
Reminds me a lot of the really nice $15,000 ambulance builds I've seen, but about 10x more expensive.
Thank you Bob for doing these interviews, so many fascinating ways to hit the road!
To each his own. On this channel there's room for everyone and especially their individual needs & budgets. That being said, CHEAP RV LIVING's inspired vision, charm, universal appeal and claim to fame supersedes costly, complicated rigs. Instead it hallows the qualities that money can't ever buy, like simplicity, humble, astounding ingenuity, caring and friendship of those that love this lifestyle, will do it any way they can and want to help others learn how to do it too. WE LOVE you Bob & THOWA. You're showing many that it is possible to get out there and live a good life without a lot of fuss. Thanks for each and every wonderful interview. XXOOXX ;D
Wow man I love his rig. The whole set-up is great. Motor-bikes to ride, etc. This man has it made.👍🇺🇸
I agree Bob, this is a dream rig. As a 67 yr.old woman I like the 6 wheel drive to get out of trouble. Thank you
Bib treats everyone with respect and kindness, even when they come across as smuggish lol..
I saw a guy right before this video on another channel who was previously houseless.
And he showed off his minivan he acuired cheap and he literally had everything he owned in there and he beamed with pride over his home and the way he set it up if he had 500.00 bucks in it it was a lot,it goes to show you what you can do without a lot of money and yes the man worked full time.
Granted he didn't have any of the nice things that the gentleman with the expensive rig had,but the guy with the minivan was loving life and if the minivan had the dependability of the tiger I rather live in the minivan,it had heart and soul.
Quite frankly I didn't care one bit for the interior setup of the tiger at all, but I'm sure it earns it's name on the road. I'd love to see that thing do it's thing on the desert road.
I’ve decided if I ever do something like this, I’m going to use a twin size bed to make room for a lazy boy.
Wow! Looks great! What a great way to live. Thank you for sharing, friend!
What a great rig. I keep praying my time will come, too. Thanks, Bob!
Bob showed grace under pressure when interviewing this person.
I think this guy could be called laconic, but Bob, bless him, isn’t fazed by the fact that it’s like pulling teeth to get him to talk. Great interview yet again B.x
For that kind of money, I would want a nice bed and a nice shower. But that's me.
@Snazzlecat I like the idea, concept, of the 4x4 thing, But, over $100,000 for this concept? Way too much!!! They didnt put enough thought into the layout it if you ask me. If I spend that kind of $$$ I would choose a small European RV van over this one any time and ship it up here. The layout these small European rv's have is just incredible, and they cost about the same what he paid for.
Me too
Monika Adventure -Truly No disrespect to this gentleman, but I’ve seen cheaper rigs that people have made themselves thats so much nicer.
Monika Adventure Me toooo!
I enjoy your update videos, oh so much! I hope everything goes famously during the birthday festivities and beyond.
Excellent, excellent, excellent...rig, owner AND interview. Kudos to you and thanks.
Wow Sweet rig all the way around I love the setup with the garage in tow! Tiny bit out of my price range though lol. I'll have to stick with my poor mans version which is my 1994 Chevy 6.5 diesel suburban which tows my 6x12 Atlas cargo trailer that hauls my 1998 Honda XR400.
That's a sweet combo of vehicle, trailer and bike you got Sean. Don't need $200K to live large, you're doing it at 1/8th the price of this guy and his Tiger. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong at all having the dollars to afford the Tiger, Trailer and a few bikes but there is more than just one way to do it. If ya have less dollars ya need some extra creativity to make it work.
The ultimate rig! I wholeheartedly agree! I would love to have it but I do love the one I cobbled together on a Ford.A lot of great ideas in there. Thanks Bob
Fantastic video as always! Thanks Bob
Thanks Bob :) ...always the gracious host!
Fabulous rig. Well crafted. The wood gives all the feeling of a home. Thank you for sharing.
Quigly gave me a Parts list on my 1990 ford van. I had to supply em with the last 6 of my vin number. I even ordered a track bar for it from Quigly without any problems.
He has a fine setup but don’t be fooled. You don’t have to spend that much money to have a 4 wheel drive van.
I am also a big fan of the Tiger. But since it is too expensive for me, I am going with a slide in camper on a 4x4 pickup.
I gave my 77 Chevy Blazer Chalet to my son. It was one of the original fiberglass campers on a 4x4. It needed a lot of work and he's a mechanic and will enjoy it now, I stay in my 4runner while boondocking, lol, would love to have the Blazer back if it was restored though, was too costly for me to do though...love these one piece units!
Excellent video and interview. Thanks
Interesting rig definitely built for off-road vs inclement weather traction(the most off-road 4 wheel drive vehicles experience, is when the accidently drive on to their front lawn). For those who want to know about the system names its an Engel fridge not angle, and Katadyn water filtration. Found the website but could not find anything but personal filter devices. The interior fridge is a novakool built in Vancouver, Canada. They have units that run on 12 volt 120v or both. They do not have auto-defrost and they are not cheap.
I see why you referenced this as the ultimate. Very nice indeed.
Bob is a wonderful interviewers out there! This gentleman looks like he is packing on left side
What a beauty! OVERKILL RIG!👍👍👍
I ove the rig. Four wheel drive is worth it. Additional storage ideas are great. Thank you Bob great interview.
Great looking rig. Having a 4×4 opens up so much more opportunities for cheap rv living. ✌️🏜️
What a beautiful van! Loved it!!
Lovely for him and I wish one for you Bob! Not my speed, but isn’t it great that we’re all so different?
I would love to have this guy's list of equipment- he has researched every mechanical & electrical item he has, and I'd be gratified to know what he learned - even without the 'why' explanations, though those would be valuable too. So grateful that he consented to the interview & tour!
Wonderful video, I wasn't able to discern your guest last comment concerning his motorcycle and being out for 1-3 months . Wish for more clarity. Hope to see more . Thank you
Still watching this x3 after I first saw the Vlog. Thank You, very detail/Eng. type smart . I love it well thought out before doing !!! 👍🏻👌🏻
Yes ! Now that is what I’m looking for ! Nicely done ! Chevy truck !👍🥰
Oo, That inverter looks like the Magnum Hybrid series. I have 2 of them for my off grid cabin and love the way they work with two AC inputs built in. Pricy but I believe Magnum is the last solar US inverter manufacturer.
So cool someone's living the dream
Good info about those Amber lights
That's definitely one beautiful rig it also comes with a hefty price tag thanks for the video
There is never a limit to new homes
KC, what a great HOWA commercial!
Excellent vid. Bob.
Outstanding!
Wish there was more detail showing storage areas in 4x4
Diverse demographic for sure. Love this guy who has a LOT of money but is totally nonchalent about it. I bet he gets along with everyone regardless. Beautiful vehicle and he seems to know his stuff.
Wow my kinda quality building options setup. My kinda informative. Thx for sharing :)
Chico. Im from Redding. Love everything you do. LOVE the New Rig. I want..
Ha. I'm from Oroville - my ears perked up too, when he mentioned Chico, lol.
I couldn’t afford this but if I have money I would do the same... great interview Bob!!
I wish you would have shown the entrance “pass through “ from the truck cab.
At 13:19 it's right there next to the fridge.
@13:35 you can see the back of the drivers seat from the past through.
That sounds a lot like the concept they had with this class A I bought. When cobra built the Newports they build according to the specific requests of whom ever was buying it. This too also could come on either a Ford a Chevy chassis with either the 454 Chevy engine or what ever the equivalent would've from Ford. Seems like a cool concept, but unlike the truck nose on that 20 some years later it's very hard to by parts for, because the configurations are different depending on how it was built 20 some years ago. Yeah anyway great interview as always. I always love seeing people have their rigs set up. Thank you for doing them
Great content Bob. I really enjoy you work
I wish he would've elaborated for us newbies why chevy was the best choice and why diesel wasn't. Love your videos
Practical and luxurious rig better than a new huge RV.
Fine interview.
I love this van . One of my favourites
Amazing rig, love it!!!! Thank you for sharing and hoping a bunch of us can when the lottery to get one, lol
ready for anything. love it.
Great Video! Wow! what a rig! The Costs are out of my price range though, Like you dreaming!
Great set up , great interview
OMG the rig of my dreams too!!!!!! Yes!!!!!Buying some lotto tickets!!!
Loved the rig. I don't need the trailer but I like what was done with the rv.
Stunning
Awesome rig. Wish I could get one!!
We have a 2006 Nameste Chevy Tigre we bought used in 2010 for about 37k. Even today in 2024 our Tigre works great. We don’t do a lot of camping anymore but my son, who is also an engineer, likes to take it to work when he’s on location.
Im gonna upgrade the inside to make it more my whimsical beachy style this year so i can take it back on the road. We used to drive it up and down from SoCal to PDX for years living in both areas bc of family. Now we are just in SoCal so the truck rarely gets a workout…but it will soon enough.
That is a great rig. If I had the money I would get one. That is why I want a 2 slide truck camper on a 4x4 1 ton dually chassis model. Basically the same as that rig but cheaper.
Fascinating, interesting but far too expensive for the average person. Loved the video 😊😊
Lynne Pierce I agree. This is definitely NOT “cheap” RV Living but, let’s face it, it is very nice. It’s just that i would never put that much into a rig, even if i can afford it.
DesigningLife for Living I agree😊😊
Thanks for sharing this!
That front bumper is a buffalo catcher! :)
That's funny, it's a 6 Wheel Drive , I don't see any another axle, but it's his, He still says it's my 4 wheel drive! Looks like a nice rig!
Thanks Marshal and Bob. I'm curious and would really like to hear about Marshal's motorcycle adventures and accompanying lifestyle as he mentioned in the video but didn't go into detail as it was off topic of course.
I like it too. Just enough size and functions.
Anytime I feel inspired by a video I always do as much as I can to help spread the movement.
I have a house n a bad job.... My music career n my lil girl mean the world to me n u inspired me to open my mind💯🙏 👍 my plan is to get an RV n build a lil studio in it , then get my baby girl live this way.
I want something good 4 a small studio n comfortable 4 my daughter, will b looking around. Thanks 4 the extra push I needed🙏 them solar panels r amazing. No need 4 old electric. Luv the fridge. The top bed would b perfect 4 small studio. Beautiful sink too. I'm in luv!!! This is any musicians dream vehicle... I may get something a lil bigger n less expensive but amazing
@Wanda Tolbert not sure exactly but all ideas r open
If I ever end up full timing alone, this is my dream rig. My husband and I need a bit more space.
I'm impressed with this vehicle, but I must admit I've seen much better van conversion, more room, better distribution for a fraction of the price this gentleman claims it cost, but nevertheless it is a really nice camper vehicle. Thank you for the video always enjoy them.
Semper Fi
Marshall knows his stuff....
