This is one of the best custom builds because he made everything so that it suits his needs and it makes his life better. Good to see he is out living in spite of his injuries because many people would have given up. Wish he had a UA-cam channel to follow along with.
@@reeblesnarfle4519True; but that man has a stellar talent for communication, and if he wouldn't let it rule him, and only does as many videos as, and when he wants; he could make some serious extra cash on You Tube which could help pay for travel expenses. I met Ben in the Organ Mountains while camped out overlooking Las Cruces New Mexico in December 2022. SUPER nice guy. Gave my wife and I a personal tour of his rig. What an amazing brain this man has. I can attest to those front seats he has are THEE most comfortable seats you'll ever sit in. He loves his apples...lol. We went our separate ways but hooked back up again at Schooliepalooza in February. Unfortunately I was having health issues and could not stay. But before we left I did get some pictures with him and still stay in touch. He truly is an inspiration.
That is a brilliant van build, even for someone who doesn't have mobility issues. He is amazing and definitely has strength of character to go for what he wants despite his big life change.
I met Ben with other Pacific Crest Trail hikers at mono lake, such a nice guy, was a pleasure to spend the evening with him his dog and a family living on a bus! Absolutely loved his van!
Ben you are just awesome. I love your, can do attitude. I am currently going through breast cancer treatment, and need people like Ben to remind me, no matter what the challenge I can work through it and live well. I have recently moved into a new home, and have to landscape this by myself as a 62 year old women. People like Ben remind I am strong and I will achieve my goals, even if it take longer. Thankyou for yet another inspiring video with just awesome independent people. It now time to go shovel road base and sand. ❤
Wow, Ben has such a great attitude and personality. He could have gone a whole other avenue, but decided to work with the situation he was dealt. I admire him very much. I love his set up and build. Good luck Ben in all you do. Thanks for letting us peak into your life.
He knew what he wanted and made it happen. That takes fortitude. And his adorable dog rescued from Mexico is just too cute. I hope your happy days totally outweigh any sad ones.
I'm so impressed with his drive and initiative to take on such a daunting rebuild and lifestyle despite having a serious disability. About 8 years ago, my T7 was shattered and I was told I would have been paralyzed had I moved forward another 1/4 inch. I have lived in serious chronic pain ever since, so I was so happy to see him able to move around so nimbly with having problems in the similar area of my back. Great video on stealth living the high tech way!
The ability to be able to disconnect and just go anywhere your heart longs to, this is one of the best examples of making the best out of a terrible experience ♥
I think this video and man will open the eyes of many who didn’t think this was possible for them. This is a life changing video. Thank you for this!!! I thought because I am overweight and older I can’t do van life. This guy has it so much harder and he is. Wow
This is amazing. I am unable to walk anymore due to an accident at work. I always dreamed of rv living but didn’t think it was possible. This gives me hope
This is awesome! You've created so much space and have included all the conveniences of home. I really like the ceiling. The interior design is so cool! Your philosophy and take on life is spot on and ever so inspirational! I'm glad you and your dog have each other to enjoy. Happy trails, and thanks for the tour! 💗
Love the drop down bed I think I have only seen three builds before with a similar style of bed but that this one is also adjustable is on another level (unintended pun there, sorry). Great use of space and it looks so roomy and streamlined. Excellent job on this build and best wishes for wherever Ben's truck takes him (or he takes it) and with this home that means pretty much anywhere he wants to go! 👍 Very cute dog too!🐈⬛ Condolences to Ben on the loss of his beautiful Millie.
As a person with disabilities, this video was very encouraging. Thank you! I am very blessed to be able to live with my parents who help me a lot. I enjoy watching tiny house videos because they give me ideas on how to make the most of my space within the family home. Just a thought in regards to a refrigerator next to the bed: I highly recommend it, even if you just have a small one or a plug in cooler. I have a dorm refrigerator next to my bed and it has been a huge help, especially when I’m having a difficult day. Thank you for sharing this great video!!! I enjoyed it a lot!!!
Now in my late 70's been disabled since 5(polio). Great to see another person with the "lets go" attitude. I have always had the attitude of "if you can't change or fix it" do what you can, with want you have. No real complaints, just little moans now and then. Live life the best you can. Have fun travels.
Definitely a must for me. Mini fridge for my drinks and water at night. Plus a good spot to store my snacking olives, pickles, pickled peppers and hot sticks.
You are so inspirational! And I absolutely love the addition of the air purifier! I have never seen one in any of these countless number of videos I’ve watched on UA-cam. All the best.

Thank you,Ben. I've got mobility challenges as well, but someone has to take care of my elderly mother. Maybe someday I'll see you out on the road. Stay safe. God bless.
Ben is an inspiration! What an awesome rig! Ben's story is very similar to mine involving an accident. I crushed my tailbone as a child and am now losing feeling to my lower extremities as an adult. I too did a lot of camping in my youth and fell in love with it! Although I'm not in a wheelchair yet, I will be soon. I intend to build something similar in the very near future and have gotten many great ideas from this video! Thank you for sharing Ben's story!
I love this guy’s vibe. Also, I’ve been planning out my own stepvan conversion, and with there not being many quality videos out there for stepvans, this one was great to see for inspiration! ❤

This is one of the best Van builds for a stepvan I've seen. The aluminum platform and the usage of the driver area are inspirational!
This build is awesome and the guy is definitely an inspiration.
Impressed with your knowledge, creative ability, and acceptance of your disability, and your zest for

Love this van and especially love Ben’s perspective; do the best you can with what you have.
That is just inspirational. Anyone who says they can't do van life should be shown this video. What a uild.
