- 2021 ISUZU D-MAX TRANSMISSION SERVICE, Just a video showing how i serviced Phil's transmission on his D-max. This ute has performed just over 20,000km since new, Most of the Km's being performed whilst towing a caravan so the owner Phil wanted to have the oil's replaced as preventative maintenance
Great video and really good camera work. Thanks for taking the time to show how these gearboxes are serviced and maintained. 🙂
Good to know that Ryco have now released filters for these boxes.
Thanks Niels I'm stoked it's helping people out
great video man. but I'm just wondering what engine you are running. I know is a Isuzu D-Max year 2021. but is it RZ4E or 4JJ3 ?
TQVM for this video. i am using same dmax model with you but education video about this model are too few and difficult to fond. TQVM again. Waiting your next video using this dmax model
Very good video.
Just wondering why he didn’t have and external transmission cooler installed as it would benefit with towing a caravan?
I noticed he still only had the stock trans heat exchanger.
Just seen this now dude sorry
He's got a trans cooler and the heat exchanger is completely bypassed
Great job without lifting the car ..What tyres are you using please
@gizzmo667 morning I'm pretty sure they are just a 265 70 17
@@OUTBACKDiscovery what is the manufacture of your tyres
@@gizzmo667 there bfg ko2 265 70 18 on factory 18 inch discovery 3 wheels powder coated black
Hey bro. Do the crankcase when you install need to use gasket?
Which temperature you check level? I heard 36 degrees? Is it F or C? In some other movies I heard 60 degrees.
@tolekcacek9919 morning its 30-50 degrees Celsius I aim for 40 degrees Celsius
I just go off the manual with all my videos so I don't get told off on here for it not being the actual spec haha
@@OUTBACKDiscovery Thank You for Your reply, a meant videos of other UA-camrs not yours. of course. Looking forvard for other videos with D-max, cheers. :)
good video i wonder on the triton because it has a trans cooler could you disconect a line and flush it that way
You would be able to would need to put feed line to cooler into a bucket and try match the flow rate going back to the trans from the other hose
Or do the drain a litre / fill a litre technique to ensure you don't over fill or run out of oil i suppose
Would be an option for the dmax aswell they have a tiny little coolant to trans cooler just to the left side of the transfer case that the trans goes to for cooling
On this dmax its been bypassed as phil didnt want any heat transfer from trans to engine
I personally like to leave liquid to liquid coolers attatched and then put the air to oil cooler on the return side of the coolant cooler
Great video, what was the torque setting for filter and pan bolts, thanks stewart
Hi Stewart i just went a generic torque for that size bolt of 11nm unsure if its actually correct for the Isuzu but havnt had any leak so far
Also ryco now do the correct filter kit for the day was released about 6 weeks after doing this job
Merry Christmas stay safe 🙏
Thankyou for your reply, I need to do this job soon, thanks again Stewart
@@OUTBACKDiscovery merry Xmas have a good one.
What brand/type of transmission oil did you use? And what torque settings did you use for all the transmission pan bolts 10-11nm as well?
Hey M J the owner phil likes using penrites ATF LV fluid it's what penrite recommend for this transmission and yeah I just torqued the bolts to 10nm because it's a solid gasket
If it was one of those rubber thin gaskets would probly only torque it to around 8nm
Bearing in mind this is my own torque specs I didn't see the torque spec online so went with a generic spec that alot of pans seem to use
LOL. Undies are made of a great material for rags. Ladies undies are great for cleaning VBelt drives.
They did mop up all my oil spills nicely that's for sure haha
Tork konvertör içindeki eski yağ nerede bu boşalan yalnız şanzıman yağı 🤔
Gracias por el video
It’s 20000km change under severe conditions only
So there’s still around 6L of old oil left. Isn’t a complete flush better option
Hey David a complete flush is definetly better however not necessary if you go for frequent oil changes
In phils case we do it every 20 thousand so new oil diluting into not as new oil just keep the trans happy
Any oil change is better then no oil change 🍻
Would you have the genuine part number for the auto sump gasket and the auto filter by chance.
Morning Paul I don't sorry
However I also don't recommend the genuine sump as it's a one peice plastic sump harder to install
The aftermarket sump on mine in steel and separate filter which makes life alot easier
When do you do the first oil change on these? Manual says 10k km ...
Manual says 15k, I do my MUX every 5k because she lives off road a far bit, my X-Terran gets done every 10k
WTF! Now gearbox services every 10000! Pathetic! Who has the time and money for all this Barbie maintenance?
🤣 he's done just over 20,000km of mostly towing normally drops oil every 30,000km and filter and oil every 60,000 pretty cheap for oil and alot cheaper then replacing a transmission
Joys of driving a modern day * comfortable vehicle* they need more love then the old school forbies
@@OUTBACKDiscovery that's not needing love, that's outright Neediness! Fark me!?... and then people ask why I drive 25yr old cars! It's a reminder to stay away from these expensive money traps... and a serious chink out of Isuzu armour.
Do you get a free Ken with this Barbie car? Nail polish? Bikini wax?
@@seanhammon6639 🤣 I agree new vehicles arnt tough like the old ones
Automatic boxes have always needed love though neglect never ended well for any auto regardless of how old it was, was just bit easier to repair back in the day quick nip up of the bands getting you another 12months 🤣
very good now i know why i can find a filter on line
Ryco do a filter kit for them now should be able to get the correct listing through them now
Just used one last week on this same dmax after phils trip
RTK305 is the number
