    Hello Nick. 10 months on .I change my engine oil at 7500 ks.with Castrol magnatec 5w40 synthetic diesel engine oil..I drained 9 litres out of sump .Thats over a litre dilution. The dilution must make the oil lose some of its lubricating qualities , this could even more critical with a turbo....Scotty Kilmer says engine oil is cheap car engines are very expensive..I think it's worth changing engine oil half eay through the 15 , 000 k maintenance cycle..I buy the magnatec when it's on special around low 70 dollars for 10 litres .When it's not on special it's 120 dollars. I actually got it in one place for 65 dollars that's the cheapest I've ever seen ..Oil filter from dealer 36 dollars..

    Hello Nick .The reason the oil comes out of the sump straight away is the sump pan is so incredibly thin .I just changed the oil on my daughters Suzuki Swift 2008 model , the sump is so thick you could use it on a Tiger Tank. I'm amazed the MUXs so thin being a 4 wheel drive. Had mine serviced recently and they used 15W 40 at Isuzu. You have used 5W 30 do you think that was too thin for the heavy duty engine and high ambient temperatures. The 10W 40 sounds more apt for the Sunshine Coast. I've always filled my oil filters with oil before fitting and those filters that are on their side half filled so the oil light goes out straight away. Love your videos Nick , there the best..

    Hey Nick, love the channel. I dropped my 4x4 2020 mux oil and filter last night as per your video. I put in 7.5 litres of oil but I am getting oil smears all the way up to the X on the dip stick and finding it very hard to read with those stupid yellow tabs and one side is always worse than the other..... Wouldn’t expect the level to be that high just after an oil change.... had same results even after leaving the car for several hours!! If I can see a small area of the yellow tab that has no oil, would one safely assume the level would be below that?

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  3 роки тому +1

      It is sometimes hard to read. If you dip it for only 1 second and pull it out There should be one side of the dipstick that has a solid level. The smears make it difficult to read. Try turning the dipstick once you pulled it out and read the opposite side. Sometimes it is better.
