I recently found this out a few days ago and omg it has been a god send! I also got a pink steamer! I have wavy hair with some loose curls and I usually have to wet my whole hair (which takes forever to dry), so by steaming it, it saves soo much time! I'm a big steam refresher. Certain parts of my hair and the roots just don't want to curl up properly, so after I diffuse on wash day I always steam. I use a hand-held portable clothes steamer so I can move it around and make sure I get the steam into the roots and hit every strand. You are absolutely right that if you don't have enough product on it it will turn into a frizzy mess, I had to experiment with amounts of products to find the sweet spot. When I steam this way all my curls curl up properly and I get the volume I like. I will then refresh with steam again on days 2 and 3. Most of the time on day 4 ( if there is one) my hair has gotten too frizzy so I will use water to refresh. This was a game changer for me because it allowed me to make my curls look exactly how I want them to right from the beginning. It occurred to me to try years ago because I visited Aruba and for some reason (this happens nowhere else so far) I could let my hair air dry with no product and all of the curls came out perfect every time, no frizz, perfect volume, and all curled up to the same tightness. Then I remembered how I like them better on rainy days and whenever I have gone to humid climates. This is my go-to hack now I will never stop using. Thank you for that finger rolling technique to fix those "hooks", I always have that problem🙂
