Yup. I made $1,630 freelance writing today - one flat-rate $500 pierce and one 1,900-word piece at $0.70/word (my editor always just publishes my stuff as is). Took me four hours in total, including admin / emailing / invoicing. It's an amazing side hustle that I've kept up while also running my main business. In fact, freelance writing encourages me to delegate and hire more in my main business so that I can spend more time writing! The other side of that coin is that since I have my main business, I don't have to say yes to every editor that wants to give me work and can be extremely picky about my rates and which projects I take on. It definitely helps that I write mostly finance articles and have a CPA license.
OMG that's amazing! Yes, it definitely helps that you have expertise in such an in-demand field. Every student I've worked with who started out with advanced education in an in-demand field has had an easy time getting high-paying work.
OH MY GOD! I'm currently doing a little of everything to get my freelancing business up and running--niching down, building a website, cold pitching, creating samples, taking shitty jobs on Upwork--and in addition to the validation I now feel around the stuff I'm doing right, it is SUCH a relief to hear that the personal blog is not that important. Thank you so much for this.
I am so so so so happy I found your channel. It's like a little gold mine in the corner of UA-cam. I love your vibe and the way you explain things. You encourage me a lot!! I've been wanting to freelance write for SO long but I just don't have the courage.
Your point on educational institutions not teaching freelancing is a very good point. I studied English in college and got a BA. Never learned anything about it until I started freelancing over 20 years ago. I had a 22 year career as a freelancer but I had to be an autocorrect like most freelancers.
I can’t wait to watch this video in full. Freelancing is something I should’ve been doing. Things outside my control had me doubting myself but I’m ready to being. I set this goal about a month ago give/take. I’m getting educated and I’m starting this summer.
Great. 7 minutes into your video, I had three content ideas that will sell! I include 1 here: "4 Hour Laws? The title is clickable-What does it mean... Law 1. Don't waste time on what is not making you money. You shared the concept...Thank you Because I know what I need to learn, I subscribed and will follow.
Your channel is inspirational. Quick question; From a client's perspective, what specific Certification would be persuasive in hiring a copywriter for blog posts?
Hey girl hey! This video was super helpful and I appreciate your willingness to share what has helped you. I'm like 90% sure this is what I want to pursue full time but am feeling VERY nervous about it 😅 Anyway, I don’t have a college degree and am wondering if you think getting one would improve my credibility or should I mainly focus on producing a high quality portfolio?
Hello, I was just recently rejected by a writing platform after scoring 3.4 of 5 in their recruitment test. I was advised to improve my writing skill. Anywhere you can point me to achieve this improvement? Thank you.
I have question at what point do you start paying taxes to the irs? Is this an immediate thing or do u start when u start getting paid a certain amount of money on a consistent basis?
Does Ohio produce the same kind of people? Cause I'm a singer, and writer from Ohio. I work and live out of my aunts basement. Also I just think you're hilarious. You are my kind of people.

Your channel is inspirational.
Quick question;
From a client's perspective, what specific Certification would be persuasive in hiring a copywriter for blog posts?
It depends. When I'm hiring, I'm looking exclusively at the quality of the portfolio.
@@colleenwelsch_ Quality of the Portfolio. Appreciate the tip friend.
Crying in the bathroom... The accuracy. :D
If ya know ya know 💁♀️
I really want to make money as a freelance writer.

Not sure. Sorry! English is my first language

You pay taxes when you file your taxes (usually in April)
Pssst trying to shop for purple pens and your Amazon links mostly go to an external drive?
omg lol how did that happen? These are the pens: www.sharpie.com/pens/gel-pens/sharpie-s-gel-medium-point-0.7mm
Could you do a video about your $20k Olay job? What were they looking for someone to do that paid so much?
I talk more about it here: ua-cam.com/video/bfIiLNuF2oY/v-deo.html Let me know if that doesn’t answer your question!
Hi my friend! Love to get on a coaching call with you! Very interested in doing what you do
Thanks for watching! The application for my one-on-one coaching program can be found here: www.thefreelancewritersguide.com/six-weeks-to-launch
Thanks so much for the video. Is it common for most companies to expect writers to edit and proofread their copy?
Yes! It’s pretty much required. They don’t have time to edit your work. It has to be perfect when you send it to them.
What sites are good for freelance copywriting? 😳
Does Ohio produce the same kind of people? Cause I'm a singer, and writer from Ohio. I work and live out of my aunts basement. Also I just think you're hilarious. You are my kind of people.
Lol sounds like we have a lot in common! I also used to live with my aunt
if you like singing why don't you try local theater?
Teach me pls
Subscribe! I have lots of videos on this
i love you
Crying in the bathroom?
