    Sir. Why do you differentiate d(Wnet)/d(rp) = 0? rp is also a constant, right?

      No, rp is basically compression ratio p2/p1, it is varying in the gas turbine cycle. he differentiated d(Wnet)/d(rp) = 0 because, at any maximum point, the slope is equal to 0.
